In thirukkOtiyUr with cool waters and rich fields all around;

where servants of lord exist while those disobedient still abound;

the head of pristine srivilliputtur thus speaks in poetic lines;

By reciting these knowing the import, one shall remain within His confines!

Summary

periAzhwAr narrates in the following verses the fate of those

who are not devotees of the Lord and as a consequence the insults,

pains and suffering that they would undergo at the time of their death.

Finally they would also suffer the dreaded punishment at the hands

of Yama and his agents. On the other hand, AzhwAr assures

those who faithully worship Lord nArAyaNA, that these sufferings

will not be there and they would certainly attain

Vaikuntam and serve the Lord for ever.

Purport

When the lotus-lady gripes about devotees' sins, He would

stop Devi saying 'No, they won't do these, but only good';

when His lotus eyes glance forted Lanka & viBIshaNa who's noble;

how can I serve anyone other than Srirangan who's whole!

He felled evil twin trees, smote elephant that was furious;

killed pralambAsurA, evil horse kEsi, cart that was spurious

& the wrestlers, as if listening to the sounds of breaking pot!

Like a ladder to the Sun, He elevates devotees on this holy spot!
