[11.25.12] iti . śrībhagavadupaniṣatsu ca ye caiva sāttvikā bhāvā rājasāstāmasāśca ye . matta eveti tān viddhi na tvahaṃ teṣu te mayi .. tribhirguṇamayairbhāvair ebhiḥ sarvamidaṃ jagat . mohitaṃ nābhijānāti māmebhyaḥ paramavyayam .. daivī hyeṣā guṇamayī mama māyā duratyayā . māmeva ye prapadyante māyāmetāṃ taranti te .. [bhāgavatam 10.2.35] ayamarthaḥ . sattvaṃ tena prakāśamānatvāttadabhinnatayā rūpitaṃ vapur bhavān śrayate prakaṭayati . kathambhūtaṃ sattvaṃ viśuddham . anyasya rajastamobhyāmamiśrasyāpi [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰48] prākṛtatvena jāḍyāṃśa saṃvalitatvānna viśeṣeṇa śuddhatvam . etattu svarūpaśaktyātma [ka]tvena tadaṃśasyāpyasparśādatīva śuddha [tva]mityarthaḥ . kimarthaṃ śrayate . śarīriṇāṃ sthitau nijacaraṇāravinde manaḥsthairyāya sarvatra [bhakteṣu] bhaktisukhadānasyaiva tvadīyamukhyaprayojanatvād iti bhāvaḥ . bhaktiyogavidhānārthamiti [bhāgavatam 1.8.19] śrīkuntīvākyāt . kathambhūtaṃ vapuḥ śreyasāṃ sarveṣāṃ puruṣārthānāmupāyanamāśrayam . nityānantaparamānandarūpamityarthaḥ . ato vapuṣastava ca bheda nirdeśo'yam [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰49] aupacārika eveti bhāvaḥ . ataeva yena vapuṣā yadvapurālambanenaiva janastavārhaṇaṃ pūjāṃ karoti . kaiḥ sādhanaiḥ vedādibhistvadālambanakairityarthaḥ . sādhāraṇaistvarpitaireva tvad arhaṇaprāyatāsiddhāvapi . vapuṣo'napekṣatvāt . tādṛśae vapuṣo'napekṣyatvāttādṛśae [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰50]vapuḥprakāśahetutvena svarūpātmakatvaṃ spaṣṭayanti . he dhātaścedyadi idaṃ sattvaṃ yattava nijaṃ vijñānamanubhavaṃ [ḥ] tadātmikā svaprakāśatāśaktirityarthaḥ . tanna bhavet . tarhi tvajñāna bhidā svaprakāśasya tavānubhavafprakāra eva mārjanaṃ śuddhimavāpa . saiva jagati paryavasīyate na tu tavānubhavaf [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰51]leśo'pīty arthaḥ . nanu prākṛtasattvaguṇenaiva gmamānubhavog [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰52] bhavatu kiṃ nijahgrahaṇh [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰53]ena tatrāha . prākṛtaguṇaprakāśair bhavān kevalamanumīyate na tu sākṣātkriyata ityarthaḥ . athavā tava vijñānarūpamajñānabhidāyā apamarjanaṃ ca yannijaṃ sattvaṃ tadyadi na bhavennāvirbhavati tadaiva prākṛtasattvādiguṇaprakāśairbhavān anumīyate . t [v]annijasattāvirbhāveṇa tu sākṣātkriyata evetyarthaḥ . tad eva spaṣṭayituṃ tatrānumāne dvaividhyamāhuryasya guṇaḥ prakāśata iyena vā guṇaḥ prakāśatai [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰54] iti . asvarūpabhūtasyaiva [prākṛta ]sattvādiguṇasya tvadavyabhicārisambandhitvamātreṇa vā tvadeka prakāśyamānatāmātreṇa vā tvalliṅgatvamityarthaḥ . yathā aruṇodayasya sūryodayasānnidhyaliṅgatvaṃ yathā vā dhūmasyāgniliṅgatvamiti . tata ubhayathāpi tava sākṣātkāre tasya sādhakatamatvābhāvo yukta iti bhāvaḥ . tadevamaprākṛtasattvasya tadīyasvaprakāśatārūpatvaṃ yena svaprakāśasya tava sākṣātkāro bhavatīti sthāpitam . atra ye viśuddhasattvaṃ nāma prākṛtameva rajastamaḥśūnyaṃ matvā tatkāryaṃ bhagavad vigrahādikaṃ manyante te tu na kenāpyanugṛhītāḥ . rajaḥ sambandhābhāvena svataḥ praśāntasvabhāvasya sarvatrodāsīnatākṛtihetos tasya kṣobhāsambhavātvidyāmayatvena yathāvasthitavastuprakāśitāmātra dharmatvāt, tasya kalpanāntarāyogyatvācca . taduktamapyagocarasya gocaratve hetuḥ prakṛtiguṇaḥ sattvam . gocarasya bahurūpatve rajaḥ . bahurūpasya tirohitatve rajaḥ [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰55] . tathā parasparodāsīnatve sattvam . upakāritve rajaḥ . apakāritve tamaḥ . gocaratvādīni sthitsṛṣṭi saṃhārāḥ udāsīnatvādīni ceti . atha rajoleśe tatra mantavye viśuddhapadavaiyarthyamityalaṃ tanmata rajojleśe tatra mantavye viśuddhapadavaiyarthyamityalaṃ tan mataj [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰56]rajo ghaṭapraghaṭṭanayeti . [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰57] ktatra cedameva viśuddhasattvaṃ sandhinyaṃśapradhānaṃ cedādhāra śaktiḥ . saṃvidaṃśapradhānamātmavidyā . hlādinīsārāṃśapradhānaṃ guhyavidyā . yugapatśaktitrayapradhānaṃ mūrtiḥ . atrādhāraśaktyā bhagavaddhāma prakāśate . taduktaṃ yatsātvatāḥ puruṣarūpamuśanti sattvaṃ loko yata [bhāgavatam 12.8.40] [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰58] iti . tathā jñānatatpravarakalakṣaṇavṛttidvayakayātmavidyayā tadvṛtti rūpamupāsakāśrayaṃ jñānaṃ prakāśate . evaṃ bhaktitatpravartakalakṣaṇa vṛttidvayakayā guhyavidyayā tadvṛttirūpā prītyātmikā bhaktiḥ prakāśate . ete eva viṣṇupurāṇe lakṣmīstave spaṣṭīkṛte yajñavidyā mahāvidyā guhyavidyā ca śobhate . ātmavidyā ca devi tvaṃ vimuktiphaladāyinī .. [Viড় 1.9.118] iti . yajñavidyā karma . mahāvidyā aṣṭāṅgayogaḥ . guhyavidyā bhaktiḥ . ātmavidyā jñānam . tattatsarvāśrayatvāttvameva tattadrūpā vividhānāṃ muktīnāmanyeṣāṃ ca vividhānāṃ phalānāṃ dātrī bhavasītyarthaḥ .k [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰59] atha mūrtyā paratattvātmakaḥ śrīvigraha prakāśate . iyameva vasudevākhyā . taduktaṃ caturthasya tṛtīye mahādevena sattvaṃ viśuddhaṃ vasudevaśabditaṃ yadīyate tatra pumānapāvṛtaḥ . sattve ca tasmin bhagavān vāsudevo hyadhokṣajo me manasā vidhīyate .. iti . [bhāgavatam 4.3.23] . asyārthaḥ . viśuddhaṃ svarūpaśaktivṛttitvājjāḍyāṃśenāpi rahitamiti viśeṣeṇa śuddhaṃ tadeva vasudevaśabdenoktam . kutastasya sattvatā vasudevatā vā tatrāha yadyasmāttatra tasmin pumān vāsudeva īyate prakāśate . ādye tāvadagocaragocaratāhetutvena lokaprasiddhasattva sāmyātsattvatā vyaktā . dvitīye tvayamarthaḥ . vasudeve bhavati pratīyata iti vāsudevaḥ parameśvaraḥ prasiddhaḥ . sa ca viśuddhasattvaṃ pratīyate . ataḥ pratyayārthena prasiddhena prakṛtyartho nirdhāryate . tataśca vāsayati devamiti vyutpattyā va vasatyasminniti vā vasuḥ . tathā dīvyati dyotata iti devaḥ . sa cāsau sa ceti vāsudevaḥ . dharma iṣṭaṃ dhanaṃ nṝṇāmiti svayaṃ bhagavadukte vasubhirbhagavaddharmalakṣaṇaiḥ puṇyaiḥ prakāśata iti vā vasudevaḥ . tasmādvasudevaśabditaṃ viśuddhasattvam . itthaṃ svayaṃ prakāśajyotirekavigrahabhagavajjñānahetutvena kaivalyaṃ sāttvikaṃ jñānaṃ rajo vaikalpikaṃ tu yat . prākṛtaṃ tāmasaṃ jñānaṃ manniṣṭhaṃ nirguṇaṃ smṛtam .. ityādau [bhāgavatam 11.25.24] bahutra guṇātītāvasthāyāmeva bhagavajjñānaśravaṇena na ca siddhamatra viśuddhapadāvagataṃ svarūpaśaktivṛttibhūtasvaprakāśatālakṣaṇatvaṃ tasya vyaktam . tataśca sattve pratīyata ityatra karaṇa evādhikaraṇa vivakṣayā .. svarūpaśaktivṛttitvameva viśadayati . apāvṛta āvaraṇaśūnyaḥ san prakāśate . prākṛtaṃ sattvaṃ cettarhi tatra pratiphalanamevāvasīyate . tataśca darpaṇe mukhasyeva tadantargatatayā tasya tatrāvṛtatvenaiva prakāśaḥ syāditi bhāvaḥ . phalitārthamāha evambhūte sattve tasminnityam eva prakāśamāno bhagavānme mayā manasā viśeṣeṇa vidhīyate cintyata ity arthaḥ . tatsattvaṃ tādātmyāpanname evaanyathā naiva manasā cintayituṃ śakyate iti paryavasitam . nanu kevalena manasaiva cintyatāṃ kiṃ tena sattvena tatrāha . hi yasmād adhokṣajaḥ adhaḥkṛtamatikrāntamakṣajamindriyajñānaṃ yena saḥ . namaseti pāṭhe hi śabdasthāne'pyanuśabdaḥ paṭhyate . tataśca viśuddha sattvākhyayā svaprakāśatāśaktyaiva prakāśamāno'sau namaskārādinā kevalamanuvidhīyate sevyate . na tu kenāpi prakāśyata ityarthaḥ . tadeva so'dṛśyatvenaiva sphurannasau adṛśyenaiva namaskārādinā asmābhiḥ sevyata iti tatprakaraṇasaṅgatiśca gamyate . tathā yato bhagavadvigrahaprakāśakaviśuddhasattvasya mūrtitvaṃ vasudevatvaṃ ca tata eva tatprādurbhāvaviśeṣe dharmapatnyā mūrtitvaṃ prasiddham . śrīmadānakadundubhau ca vasudevatvamiti vivecanīyam . atra śraddhā puṣṭyādilakṣaṇaprādurbhūtaṃ bhagavacchaktyaṃśarūpasya bhaginītayā pāṭhasāhacaryeṇa mūrtestasyāstacchaktyaṃśaprādurbhāvatvam upalabhyate . turye dharmakalāsarge naranārāyaṇāvṛṣī ity [bhāgavatam 1.3.9] atra kalāśabdena ca śaktirevābhidhīyate . tataḥ śaktilakṣaṇāyāṃ tasyāṃ ca nara nārāyaṇākhyabhagavatprakāśaphaladarśanātvasudevākhyaśuddha sattvarūpatvamevāvasīyate . tadevameva tasyā mūrtirityākhyā'pyuktā . mūrtiḥ sarvaguṇotpattirnara nārāyaṇāvṛṣī iti [bhāgavatam 4.1.52] . sarvaguṇasya bhagavataḥ utpattiḥ prakāśo yasyāḥ sā tāvasūteti pūrveṇānvayaḥ . bhagavadākhyāyāḥ saccidānanda mūrteḥ prakāśahetutvātmūrtirityarthaḥ tathaiva tatprakāśaphalatva darśanena ca nāsyaikyena ca śrīmadānakadundubherapi śuddhasattvādi bhāvatvaṃ jñeyam . taccoktaṃ navame vasudevaṃ hareḥ sthānaṃ vadantyānakadundubhim . iti . [bhāgavatam 9.24.30] anyathā hareḥ sthānamiti viśeṣaṇasya akiñcitkaratvaṃ syāditi . tadevaṃ hlādinyādyekatamāṃśaviśeṣapradhānena viśuddhasattvena yathāyathaṃ śrīprabhṛtīnāmapi prādurbhāvo vivektavyaḥ . tatra ca tāsāṃ bhagavati sampadrūpatvaṃ tadanugrāhye sampatsampādakarūpatvaṃ sampad aṃśajatvaṃ cetyāditrijagatvaṃ jñeyam . tatra tāsāṃ kevalaśakti mātratvenāmūrtānāṃ bhagavadvigrahādyaikāmyena sthitastadadhiṣṭhātrī rūpatvena mūrtīnāṃ tu tadāvaraṇatayeti dvirūpatvamapi jñeyamiti dik .. ..10.39.. śrīśukaḥ ..117.. [118] lathaivaṃ bhūtānantavṛttikā yā svarūpaśaktiḥ sā tviha bhagavad dhāmāṃśavartinī mūrtimatī lakṣmīrevetyāha anapāyinī bhagavatī śrīḥ sākṣādātmano hareḥ .. iti .. [bhāgavatam 12.11.20] ṭīkā ca anapāyinī hareḥ śaktiḥ tatra hetuḥ sākṣādātmanaḥ svasvarūpasya cidrūpatvāttasyāstadabhedādityarthaḥ . ityeṣā . atra sākṣācchabdena vilajjamānayā yasya sthātumīkṣāpathe'muyā ity [bhāgavatam 2.5.13] ādyuktā māyā neti dhvanitam . tatrānapāyitvaṃ yathā . śrīhāyaśīrṣapañcarātre paramātmā hari devas tacchaktiḥ śrīrihoditā . śrīrdevī prakṛtiḥ proktā keśavaḥ puruṣaḥ smṛtaḥ . na viṣṇunā vinā devī na hariḥ padmajāṃ vinā .. iti . śrīviṣṇupurāṇe nityaiva sā jaganmātā viṣṇoḥ śrīranapāyinī . yathā sarvagato viṣṇus tathaiveyaṃ dvijottama .. iti . [Viড় 1.8.17]k [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰60] tatrānyatra evaṃ yathā jagatsvāmī devadevo janārdanaḥ . avatāraṃ karotyeṣā tathā śrīstatsahāyinī .. [Viড় 1.9.142] iti . cidrūpatvamapi skānde aparaṃ tvakṣaraṃ yā sā prakṛtirjaḍarūpikā . śrīḥ parā prakṛtiḥ proktā cetanā viṣṇusaṃśrayā .. tāmakṣaraṃ paraṃ prāhuḥ parataḥ paramakṣaram . harirevākhilaguṇa akṣaratrayamīritam .. iti . ata eva śrīviṣṇupurāṇe eva kalākāṣṭhānimeṣādi [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰61] kālasūtrasya gocare . yasya śaktirna śuddhasya prasīdatu sa me hariḥ .. procyate parameśo yo yaḥ śuddho'pyupacārataḥ . prasīdatu sa no viṣṇur ātmā yaḥ sarvadehinām .. iti [Viড় 1.9.4546] atra svāmibhireva vyākhyātaṃ ca . kalākāṣṭhānimeṣādikāla eva sūtravat sūtraṃ jagacceṣṭā niyāmakatvāttasya gocare viṣaye yasya śaktirlakṣmīrna vartate . svarūpābhinnatvānnityaiva sā kālādhīnā na bhavatītyarthaḥ .. ataeva tasyāḥ svarūpābhedācchuddhasyetyuktam .. nanu yadi lakṣmīstatsvarūpābhinnā kathaṃ tarhi lakṣmyāḥ patirityucyate tatrāha procyate iti parā cāsau mā ca lakṣmīstasyā īśo yaḥ śuddhaḥ kevalo'pi upacārato bhedavivaśayā procyate . dvitīyo yacchabdaḥ prasiddhāv iti evamevābhipretya prārthitaṃ śrībrahmaṇā tṛtīye . eṣa prapanna varade ramayātmaśaktyā yadyatkariṣyati gṛhītaguṇāvatāraḥ . tasmin svavikramamidaṃ sṛjato'pi ceto yuñjīta karma śamalaṃ ca yathā vijahyām .. iti [bhāgavatam 3.9.23] . ato yattu sākṣācchrīḥ preṣitā devair dṛṣṭvā taṃ mahadadbhutam . adṛṣṭāśrutapūrvatvāt sā nopeyāya śaṅkitā .. iti [bhāgavatam 7.9.2] śrīnṛsiṃhaprādurbhūtāvuktam . ..12.11.. śrīsūtaḥ ..118.. [119] tadevaṃ saccidānandaikarūpaḥ svarūpabhūtācintyavicitrānantaśaktiyukto dharmatva eva dharmitvaṃ nirbhedatva eva nānā bhedavattvamaparupitva eva rūpitvaṃ, vyāpakatva eva madhyamatvaṃ, satyamevetyādiparaspara viruddhānantaguṇanidhiḥ . sthūlasūkṣmavilakṣaṇasvaprakāśākhaṇḍa svasvarūpabhūtaśrīvigrahastathābhūtabhagavadākhyāmukhyaika vigrahavyañjitatādṛśānantavigrahastādṛśasvānurūpasvarūpa śaktyāvirbhāvalakṣaṇalakṣmīrañjitavāmāvaśaḥ svaprabhāviśeṣākāra paricchedaparikaranijadhāmasu virājamānākāraḥ svarūpaśaktivilāsa lakṣaṇādbhutaguṇalīlādicamatkāritātmārāmādiguṇo jijasāmānya prakāśākārabrahmatattvo nijāśrayaikajīvanajīvākhyataṭasthaśaktir anantaprapañcavyañjitasvābhāsaśaktiguṇo bhagavāniti vidvad upalabdhārthaśabdairvyañjitam . tatra tatsvabhāvaṃ vastvantaram apaśyatāmaviduṣāmasambhāvanā na yukteti vividiṣūn śraddāpayituṃ prakriyate tatraikena tasyāviduṣāṃ jñānagocaratvaṃ, kintu vedaikavedyatvam evetyāhuḥ ka iha nu veda batāvarajanmālayo'grasaraṃ yata udagādṛṣiryamanu devagaṇo ubhaye . tarhi na sannacāsadubhayaṃ na ca kālajavaḥ kimapi na tatra śāstramavakṛṣya śayīta yadā .. [bhāgavatam 10.87.24] bata aho bhagavaniha jagati agrasaraṃ pūrvasiddhaṃ tvāmavarajanmālayaḥ arvācīnotpattināśavān ko'pi pumān veda jānāti . īśvarasya pūrvasiddhāv anyasya cārvācīnatve kāraṇaṃ vadantyo jñānakāraṇābhāvamāhuḥ . yata udagāditi yatastvatta eva ṛṣirbrahmā utpannaḥ . ato'rvācīnāḥ sarve . yadā tu bhavān śāstraṃ svavijñāpakaṃ vedamavakṛṣya vaikuṇṭha evākṛṣya śayīta jagatkāryaṃ prati dṛṣṭiṃ nimīlayati tarhi tadā anuśāyinaṃ jīvānāṃ jñānasādhanaṃ nāsti . yatastadā na satsthūlamākāśādi na cāsatsūkṣmaṃ mahadādi na cobhayaṃ sadasadbhyāmārabdhaṃ śarīram . na ca kālajavaḥ tannimittībhūtaṃ kālavaiṣamyamevaṃ sati tatra tadā kimapi indirya prāṇādyapi na . ayamarthaḥ . yadā sṛṣṭigatatvātdehādyupādhi kṛtāntaratvāt . kālakarmavaśena malinasattvātteṣāṃ tadavadhāraṇe sāmarthyaṃ nāsti . yadā tu pralaye samaye na bahvantaramapi tadāpi teṣāṃ vedānardhānamahātamomayasuṣuptibhyāṃ sādhanābhāvānna tavānubhavasāmarthaymiti . tathā śrutayaḥ na taṃ vidātha ya imā jajānānyadyuṣmākamantaraṃ babhūva [?] . yato vāco nivartante aprāpya manasā saha [ṭaittū 2.4.1] . ko addhā veda ka iha prāvocat . kuta āyātā kuta iyaṃ visṛṣṭiḥ [?] arvāgdevā asya visarjanenātha ko veda yata āvabhūva [?] .
