tadadhaḥ arvāgeva yasya saḥ . yasya hi bhavāpavargo bhavettasya bhavān

anudṛśyaḥ syāturuvyasanena kṛkalāsabhavaduḥkhena andhabuddhestu

mama etaccitramityarthaḥ . ityeṣā .

darśanakāraṇaṃ tūktaṃ nārāyaṇādhyātme

nityāvyakto'pi bhagavānīkṣyate nijaśaktitaḥ .

tāmṛte paramātmānaṃ kaḥ paśyetāmṛtaṃ prabhum .. iti .

tādṛśaśakterapyullāse tatkṛpaiva kāraṇam . taduktaṃ śrutau

na cakṣuṣā paśyati rūpamasya

yamevaiṣa vṛṇute tena labhyas

tasyaiṣa ātmā vivṛṇute tanuṃ svām .. [Kaṭhaū 1.2.23]

na sandṛśe tiṣṭhati rūpamasya . ityādikaṃ ca kutracit . evameva mokṣa

dharme nārāyaṇīye nāradaṃ prati śrīśvetadvīpapatinoktam

etattvayā na vijñeyaṃ rūpavāniti dṛśyate .

icchanmuhūrtānnaśyeyamīśo'haṃ jagato guruḥ ..

māyā hyeṣā mayā sṛṣṭā yanmāṃ paśyasi nārada .

sarvabhūtaguṇairyuktaṃ naivaṃ tvaṃ jñātumarhasi .. [ṃBh12.306.4243]

yathā'nyo rūpavāniti hetordṛśyate tathāyamapītyetattvayā na jñeyam .

tataśca svaya rūpitve'pyadṛśyatvamuktvā nijarūpasyāprākṛtatvameva

darśitam . taddarśane ca paramakṛpāmayyakuṇḍhā mamecchaiva kāraṇam

ityāha . i

icchanniti . naśyeyamadṛśyatāmāpadyeyam . tatra svātantryaṃ jagad

vilakṣaṇatvaṃ ca hetumāha īśa ityādi . tathāpi māṃ sarvabhūtagaṇair

yuktaṃ yatpaśyasi tadyuktatvena yatpratyeṣi eṣā māyā mayaiva sṛṣṭā

mama māyayaiva tathā bhānamityarthaḥ . tasminnaivamityādi . mayātra

pratāraṇaśaktiḥ . tathā hi tatraiva śrībhāṣyavacanam .

prītastato'sya bhagavān devadevaḥ sanātanaḥ .

sākṣāttaṃ darśayāmāsa dṛśyo nānyena kenacid .. iti . [ṃBh12.323.11]

tamuparicaraṃ vasuṃ prati svātmānamiti śeṣaḥ . tadagre ca vasvādi

vākyam .

na śakyaḥ sa tvayā draṣṭumasmābhirvā bṛhaspate .

yasya prasādaṃ kurute sa vai taṃ draṣṭumarhati .. iti . [ṃBh12.323.18]

tadevaṃ śrutāv apyadṛśyatvādayo dharmāḥ śrīvigrahasyaivoktāḥ .

śrutyantaraṃ ca na cakṣuṣā paśyati rūpamasya . iti ..

nṛpaḥ śrībhagavantam ..48..

ataeva prākṛtāni rūpādīni niṣidhya anyāni sampratipādyante .

na vidyate yasya ca janma karma vā

na nāmarūpe guṇadoṣa eva vā

tathāpi lokāpyayasambhavāya yaḥ

svamāyayā tānyanukālamṛcchati .. [bhāgavatam 8.3.8]

ayamarthaḥ . avasthāntaraprāptirvikāraḥ . tatra prathamavikāro janmeti

. apūrṇasya nijapūrtyarthā ceṣṭā karmeti . manogrāhyasya vastuno

vyavahārārthaṃ kenāpi saṅketitaḥ śabdo nāmeti . cakṣuṣā grāhyo guṇo

rūpamiti . sattvādiprākṛtaguṇanidāno dravyasyotkarṣaheturdharma

viśeṣo guṇa iti prakṛtije loke dṛśyate . yasya ca sarvadā svarūpasthatvāt

pūrṇatvātmanaso'pyagocaratvātsvaprakāśatvātprakṛtyatītvāttāni na

vidyante .

tathāpi yastāni ṛcchati prāpnoti tasmai nama ity [bhāgavatam 8.3.9] uttara

ślokenānvayaḥ . ataeva śrutyāpi niṣkalaṃ niṣkriyaṃ śāntamityādau [śvetū

6.19], aśabdamasparśamarūpamavyayamityādau [Kaṭhaū 1.3.15] ca tan

niṣidhyāpi sarvakarmā sarvakāmaḥ sarvagandhaḥ sarvarasa ity [Chāū

3.14.4] ādau vidhīyate . guṇadoṣa iti aparamārthatvādguṇa eva doṣa ity

arthaḥ . tato rūḍhadoṣastu sarvathā na sambhavatyeveti vakṣyate . tathā ca

kaurme

aiśvaryayogādbhagavān viruddhārtho'bhidhīyate .

tathāpi doṣāḥ parame naivāhāryaḥ kathañcana .

guṇā viruddhā api tu samāhāryāśca sarvataḥ .. iti .

ayamātmāpahatapāpmā . ityādyāḥ [Chāū 8.7.1] śrutayaśca .

etaṃ saṃyadvāma ityāvakṣate etaṃ sarvāṇi vāmāni nayati eṣa u eva

bhāmaṇīḥ eṣa sarveṣu vedeṣu bhātīty [Chā 4.15.2] ādyā ca . ataeva sarva

gandha ityādau gandhādiśabdena saugandhyādikamevocyate . yadā tu

ṛcchatinānvayastu guṇasya doṣatvena rūpakamavivakṣitaṃ śrutiviruddhatvāt

paramārthatvena pratipādayiṣyamāṇatvācca .

nanvekatra teṣāṃ janmādīnāṃ bhāvābhāvayorvirodha ityāśaṅkya tad

virodhe hetumāha svamāyayā iti . anyathānupapattipramitā dustarkyā

svarūpaśaktireva tatra hetuḥ . ataeva svarūpabhūtatvena tebhyaḥ

prākṛtebhyo vilakṣaṇatvāttānyapi na vidyanta iti ca vaktuṃ śakyata iti

bhāvaḥ . yathā śāṅkaraśārīrarake samākarṣādity [Vs. 1.4.15] atra nāma

rūpavyākṛtavastuviṣayaḥ svacchandaḥ prāyeṇa prasiddha iti tad

vyakaraṇābhāvāpekṣayā prāgutpatteḥ sadeva brahmaśrutāvasadityucyate

ityuktaṃ tathaiva jñeyam .

ataeva śrīviṣṇupurāṇe guṇāṃśca doṣāṃśca mune vyatīta ity [Viড় 6.5.83]

uktvā punarāha samastakalyāṇaguṇātmako hīti [Viড় 6.5.84] . tathā

jñānaśaktibalaiśvaryavīryatejāṃsyaśeṣataḥ .

bhagavacchabdavācyāni vinā heyairguṇādibhiḥ .. iti [Viড় 6.5.79]

pādmottarakhaṇḍe ca

yo'sau nirguṇa ityuktaḥ śāstreṣu jagadīśvaraḥ .

prākṛtairheyasaṃyuktairguṇairhīnatvamucyate .. iti .

na ca svamāyayetyanyathārthaṃ mantavyam .

viśuddhavijñānaghanaṃ svasaṃsthayā

samāptasarvārthamayī vāñchitam .

svatejasā nityanivṛttamāyā

guṇapravāhaṃ bhagavantamīmahi .. iti [?] [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰8] śrīnārada

vākyāt .

svasukhanibhṛtedyādi [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰9] . vaktṛhṛdayavirodhācca . tataḥ

sarvathā cicchaktyā ityarthaḥ . ataḥ svāmibhirapi yogamāyāśabdena cic

chaktirvyākhyātā .

nanu prāpnoti kadācitkatvamapyavagamyate, tatrāha anukālaṃ nityameva

prāpnoti, kadācidapi na tyajatītyarthaḥ . svarūpaśaktiprakāśitvasya ca

mitho hetumattā jñeyā .

nanu kathaṃ janmakarmaṇornityatvam ? te hi kriye . kriyātvaṃ ca prati

nijāṃśamapyārambhaparisamāptibhyāmeva sidhyatīti te vinā svasvarūpa

hānyāpattiḥ . naiṣa doṣaḥ . śrībhagavati sadivākārānantyāt

prakāśānantyātjanmakarmalakṣaṇalīlānantyādanantaprapañcānanta

vaikuṇṭhagatatattallīlāsthānatattallīlāparikarāṇāṃ vyaktiprakāśayor

ānantyācca . yata evaṃ satyorapi tattadākāraprakāśagatayostadārambha

samāptyorekatrikatra te janmakarmaṇoraṃśā yāvatsamāpyante na

samāpyante vā tāvadevānyatrāpyārabdhā bhavatītyevaṃ śrībhagavati

vicchedābhāvānnitye eva tatra te janmakarmaṇī vartete . tatra te kvacit

kiñcidvilakṣaṇatvenārabhyete te kvacidaikarūpyeṇa ceti jñeyam . viśeṣaṇa

bhedādviśeṣaṇaikyācca . eka evākāraḥ prakāśabhedena pṛthakkriyāspadaṃ

bhavatīti . citraṃ bataitadekena vapuṣā ityādau pratipāditam .

tataḥ kriyābhedāttattatkriyātmakeṣu prakāśabhedeṣvabhimānabhedaś

ca gamyate . tathā sati ekatraikatra līlākramajanitarasodbodhaśca jāyate

nanu kathaṃ te eva janmakarmaṇī vartete ityuktaṃ pṛthagārabdhatvādanye

eva te . ucyate . kālabhedenoditānāmapi samānarūpāṇāṃ kriyāṇām

ekatvam . yathā śaṅkaraśārīrake . dvirgośabdobhayamuccarito na tu dvau

gośabdāviti . tathaiva dviḥ pākaḥ kṛto'nena na tu dvidhā pākaḥ kṛto'neneti

pratītyā bhaviṣyati . tato janmakarmaṇorapi nityatā yuktaiva .

ataevāgamādāvapi bhūtapūrvalīlopāsanavidhānaṃ yuktam . tathā coktam

madhvabhāṣye paramātmasambandhitvena nityatvāttrivikramatvādiṣvapy

upasaṃhāryatvaṃ yujyate iti . anumataṃ caitatśrutyā yadgataṃ bhavacca

bhaviṣyaccetyanayaiva . upasaṃhāryatvamupāsanāyāmupādeyatvamity

arthaḥ . tatra tasya janmanaḥ prākṛtāttasmādvilakṣaṇatvaṃ prākṛta

janmānukaraṇenāvirbhāvamātratvaṃ kvacittadananukaraṇena vā .

ajāyamānā bahudhā vijāyata iti śruteḥ .

tadyathā

devakyāṃ devarūpiṇyāṃ viṣṇuḥ sarvaguhāśayaḥ .

āvirāsīdyathā prācyāṃ diśīnduriva puṣkalaḥ .. iti [bhāgavatam 10.3.8]

tathā ca

satyaṃ vidhātuṃ nijabhṛtyabhāṣitaṃ

vyāptitvaṃ ca bhūteṣvakhileṣu cātmanaḥ .

adṛśyatātyadbhūtarūpamudvahan

stambhe sabhāyāṃ na mṛgaṃ na mānuṣam .. iti [bhāgavatam 7.8.17]

kārdamaṃ vīryamāpanna ityatra [bhāgavatam 3.24.6] śrīkapiladevāvatāra

prasaṅge kardamasya bhaktisāmarthyavaśībhūta ityeva vyākhyeyam .

vīryaśabdanyāsastu prasiddhaṃ putratvamapi śliṣṭaṃ bhavatītyevam

arthaḥ . tathā karmaṇo vailakṣaṇyaṃ svarūpānandavilāsamātratvam . tad

yathā lokavattu līlākaivalyamiti [Vs2.1.33] . vyākhyātaṃ ca tattvavādibhiḥ

. yathā loke mattasya sukhodrekādeva nṛtyādilīlā na tu prayojanāpekṣayā

evameveśvarasya . nārāyaṇasaṃhitāyāṃ ca

sṛṣṭyādikaṃ harirnaiva prayojanamapekṣya tu .

kurute kevalānandādyathā mattasya nartanam ..

pūrṇānandasya tasyeha prayojanamatiḥ kutaḥ .

muktā avyāptakāmāḥ syuḥ kimutāsyakhilātmanaḥ .. iti .

na conmattadṛṣṭāntenāsarvajñatva prasañjayitavyam . svarūpānandodrekeṇa

svaprayojanamananusandhāyaiva līlāyate ityetadaṃśenaiva svīkārāt .

ucchvāsapraśvāsadṛṣṭānte'pi suṣptyādau taddoṣāpātāt . tasmāt

svarūpānandasvābhāvikyena tallīlā . śrutiśca devasyaiva svabhāvo'yam

āptakāmasya kā spṛhā . iti .

atra prākṛtasṛṣṭyādigatasya sākṣādbhagavacceṣṭātmakasya vīkṣaṇādi

karmaṇo vastutastu tathāvidhatve vaikuṇṭhādigatasya kaimutyam

evāpatitam . yathoktaṃ nāgapatnībhiḥ avyākṛtavihārāya iti [bhāgavatam 10.16.47]

. ataeva śrīśukādīnāmapi tallīlāśravaṇe rāgataḥ pravṛttiryujyate .

ataśca

evaṃ ca janmāni karmāṇi hyakarturajanasya ca .

varṇayanti sma kavayo vedaguhyāni hṛtpateḥ .. iti [bhāgavatam 1.3.35]

atra janmaguhyādhyāyapadye'pyevameva vyākhyeyam . yatreme sadasad

rūpe [bhāgavatam 1.3.334] ityādibhyāmavyavahitapadyābhyāṃ yathā svarūpa

samyagjñānenaiva kṛtasyāvidyākṛtātmādhyāsasadasadrūpaniṣedhasya

hetorbrahmadarśanaṃ bhavati . yathā ca māyoparatāveva svarūpa

sampattirbhavati ityuktam . evameva kavaya ātmārāmā hṛtpateḥ

paramātmano janmāni karmāṇi ca varṇayanti . tattatpratiṣedhe taduparatau

caiva satyāṃ tajjanmakarmānubhavasampattī bhavata ityarthaḥ . sampattir

atra sākṣāddarśanam . tasmātsvarūpānandātiśayitabhagavadānanda

vilāsarūpāṇyeva tānīti bhāvaḥ . ataeva prākṛtavailakṣaṇyādakartur

ajanasya ityuktam . ataeva vedaguhyānyapi tānīti . yathā akrūrastutau

tvayoditaḥ [bhāgavatam 10.48.2324] ityādi dvayaṃ ṭīkāyāmevetthamutthāpitam .

nanu tarhi mamāvatārāstaccaritāni ca śuktirajatavadavidyākalpitānyeva

kim ? nahi nahi iyaṃ tu tava līletyāha dvayena tvayodita itīti .

tathaiva ca bhagavatsvarūpasāmyenoktaṃ vaiṣṇave

nāmakarmasvarūpāṇi na paricchedagocare .

yasyākhilapramāṇānaṃ sa viṣṇurgarbhagastava .. iti . [Viড় 5.2.19]

rūpakarmeti vā pāṭhāntaram [*EṇḍṇOṭE ॰10] . itthamevābhipretaṃ śrī

gītopaniṣadbhiḥ

janmakarma ca me divyamevaṃ yo vetti tattvataḥ . iti . [gītā 4.9]

tathā nāmno vailakṣaṇyaṃ vāṅmanasāgocaraguṇāvalambitvena svataḥ

siddhatvam . tadyathā vāsudevādhyātme aprasiddhestadguṇānām

anāmāsau prakīrtitaḥ iti . brāhme anāmā so'prasiddhatvādarūpo bhūta

varjanātiti .

na yatra nātha vidyante nāmajātyādikalpanāḥ .

tadbrahma paramaṃ nityamavikāri bhavānaja ..

na kalpanāmṛte'rthasya sarvasyādhigamo yathaḥ .

tataḥ kṛṣṇācyutānantaviṣṇunāmabhirīḍyase .. iti .. [Viড় 5.18.5354]

etadvaiṣṇavavacanānantaramapi na viruddham . tathā hi . atrāpātataḥ

pratītārthatāyāṃ kalpanāśabdo vyarthaḥ syāt . nāmajātyādayo na vidyante

. ityanenaiva vivakṣitārthasiddheḥ . svayameva brahmājādiśabdānāṃ

paramārthapratipādakanāmatayā svīkṛtaśca . ajāmekāṃ lohitaśukla

kṛṣṇām [śvetū 4.5] ityādiṣvajāyamānatvalakṣaṇajātiśca dṛśyata eva .

tathā nāmādikalpanā na vidyante ityuktā svayaṃ kṛṣṇādināmakalpanoktir

viruddhā syātkalpanayā vā kathamīḍayatā syātkalpanāyā aniyatatvācca

kathaṃ kṛṣṇādināmaniyatyamucyate . tasmānnāmakarmasvarūpāṇīty

anusārāccāyamarthaḥ . yathā yatra nāmajātyādīnāṃ nāmani kṛṣṇādīni

jātayo devatvamanuṣyatvakṣatriyatvādilīlāḥ tadādīnāṃ kalpanā na

vidyante .

kintu svasaṃsthayā samāptasarvārthamityuktadiśā svarūpasiddhanitya

śaktivilāsarūpāṇyeva tānītyarthaḥ . tataśca yato yasmātsarvasyāpi

dṛṣṭasya vastunaḥ kalpanāṃ nāmādiracanāmṛte adhigamo vyavahārika

bodho na bhavati . tatastasmādeva hetoḥ kalpanāmayaṃ nāma tannāminaṃ

cārtha sarvamavajñāya nikhilapramāṇaparicchedāgocaratvena vedātmatayā

svataḥsiddhaiḥ kṛṣṇādināmopalakṣaṇaiḥ prasiddhaireva nāmabhiḥ svataḥ

siddhastvameveḍyase munibhirvedaiśca ślāghyase . na tu kalpanāmayair

anyaistvamapi ślāghyase tādṛśamahimabhistaireva tava mahimā

vyaktībhavatīti . yadvā . taireveḍyase vyaktamāhātmīkriyasa iti .

atra yaiḥ śāstre'tiprasiddhaiḥ śrībhagavāneva jhaṭiti pratīto bhavati . yeṣāṃ

ca sāṅketyādāvapi tādṛśaprabhāvaḥ śrūyate . teṣāṃ svataḥ siddhatvam

anyeṣāṃ kalpanāmayatvaṃ jñeyam . athavā he nātha. yatra nāmajātyādīnāṃ

kalpanā na vidyante tatkavalaviśeṣarūpaṃ paramaṃ brahma bhavān .

tattatkalpanāyā aviṣayatve hetuḥ . viśeṣeṇa karoti līlāyata iti vikāri tathā

na bhavatītyavikāri iti . tadrūpeṇa na jāyate na prakaṭībhavatīti he ajeti .

tataḥ kimavalambya tatra nāmajātyādikalpanāḥ kriyantāmiti bhāvaḥ . tat

tatkalpanāṃ vinā ca sarvasyāpyarthasya vastumātrasyādhigamamātraṃ na

bhavet . kimuta tādṛśabrahmasvarūpasya bhavataḥ . kalpanāmayanāma

jātyādayastu na kasyāpi svarūpadharmā bhavanti yata evaṃ tataḥ

sāṅketyādinā bhāvitairapi bhavadvatsarvapuruṣārthapradaistattad

viśeṣapratipādakaiḥ kṛṣṇādināmabhireva tvamīḍyase nityasiddhaśruti

purāṇādibhiḥ ślāghyase na tu nirviśeṣatāpratipādakairnitarāṃ

kalpanāmayairityarthaḥ .

kintu kṛṣṇādīnāṃ caturṇāṃ nāmnāmupalaksaṇatvameva jñeyam .

nārāyaṇādināmnāmapi sāṅketyādau tathā prabhāvaśravaṇāt . varṇa eva

tu śabda iti bhagavānupavarṣa ityanena tasya ca nityatvādityanena ca

nyāyena varṇatayaiva nityatvamasya vedasāravarṇātmakanāmnaḥ sidhyati

. tathaiva gopālatāpanīśrutau nāmamayāṣṭadaśākṣaraprasaṅge brahma

vākyam teṣvakṣareṣu bhaviṣyajjagadrūpaṃ prakāśayann [ṅṭū 1.26] iti

. atrāvatārakālajātaśabdādimayajagatkāraṇatvena tadvailakṣaṇyāt

svataḥsiddhatvaṃ tathā bhagavatsvarūpābhinnatvaṃ ca tadvailakṣaṇyaṃ

nāmnaḥ . tadyathā śrutau

omāsya jānanto nāma cidviviktanmahaste viṣṇo sumatiṃ bhajāmahe . oṃ tat

sadityādi .

ayamarthaḥ . he viṣṇo! te tava nāma citcitsvarūpamataeva mahaḥ sva

prakāśarūpam . tasmādasya nāmnaḥ ā īṣadapi jānantaḥ na tu samyag

uccāramāhātmyādipuraskāreṇa . tathāpi vivaktan bruvāṇāḥ kevalaṃ tad

akṣarābhyāsamātraṃ kurvāṇāḥ sumatiṃ tadviṣayāṃ vidyāṃ bhajāmahe

prāpnumaḥ . yatastadeva praṇavavyañjitaṃ vastu satsvataḥsiddhamiti .

ataeva bhayadveṣādau śrīmūrteḥ sphūrteriva sāṅketyādāvapyasya

muktidatvaṃ śrūyate . tathā coktaṃ pādme

apyanyacittaḥ kruddho vā yaḥ sadā kīrtayeddharim .

so'pi bandhaksayānmuktiṃ labheccedipatiryathā .. iti .

tathā śrībhagavata iva tasya nāmnaḥ sakṛdapi sākṣātkāraḥ saṃsāra

dhvaṃsako bhavati . yathā skānde

sakṛduccāritaṃ yena harirityakṣaradvayam .

baddhaḥ parikarastena mokṣāya gamanaṃ prati ..

iti śrutau ca praṇavamuddiśya . omityetatbrahmaṇo nediṣṭaṃ nāma

yasmāduccāryamāṇa eva saṃsārabhayāttārayati tasmāducyate tāra ityādi

bahutaram . na cāsyārthavādatvaṃ cintyam .

tathārthavādo harināmni kalpanamiti padmapurāṇānusāreṇāparādhāpātāt

. yasya tu gṛhītanāmno'pi punaḥ saṃsārastasya nānuvrajati yo mohād

vrajantaṃ parameśvaram . jñānāgnidagdhakarmāpi sa bhavedbrahma

rākṣasa iti śrīviṣṇubhakticandrodayādipramāṇitapurāṇavacanavan

mahadaparādhatadarthavādakalpanādikaṃ pratibandhakaṃ jñeyam .

ataevānandarūpatvamasya mahaddhṛdayasākṣikaṃ pratibandhakaṃ jñeyam

.

ataevānandarūpatvamasya mhaddhṛdayasākṣikaṃ yathā śrīvigrahasya .

taduktaṃ śrīśaunakena

tadaśmasāraṃ hṛdayaṃ batedaṃ

yadgṛhyamāṇairharināmadheyaiḥ .

na vikriyetātha yadā vikāro

netre jalaṃ gātraruheṣu harṣaḥ .. [bhāgavatam 2.3.24]

ataeva prabhāsapurāṇe kaṇṭhoktyā kathitairhetubhiḥ sakalavedaphalatvena

ca bhagavatsvarūpatvameva pratipāditam .

madhuramadhurametanmaṅgalaṃ maṅgalānāṃ

sakalanigamavallīsatphalaṃ citsvarūpam .

sakṛdapi parigītaṃ śraddhayā helayā vā

bhṛguvara naramātraṃ tārayetkṛṣṇanāma .. iti ..

tasmādbhagavatsvarūpameva nāma . spaṣṭaṃ coktaṃ śrīnārada

pañcarātre'ṣṭādaśākṣaramuddiśya

vyaktaṃ hi bhagavāneva sākṣānnārāyaṇaḥ svayam .

aṣṭākṣarasvarūpena mukheṣu parivartate .. iti .

māṇḍukyopaniṣatsu ca praṇavamuddiśya omityetadakṣaramidaṃ sarvaṃ

[ṃāṇḍū 1] . oṃkāra evedaṃ sarvam [Chāū 2.23.3] .

praṇavo hyaparaṃ brahma praṇavaśca paraṃ smṛtam .

apūrvo'nantaro'bāhyo'naparaḥ praṇavo'vyayaḥ ..

evaṃ hi praṇavaṃ jñātvā vyaśnute tadanantaram ..
