ataḥ śrībhagavata eva sarvahitopadeṣṭṛtvāt, sarvadhuḥkhaharatvāt,

raśmīnāṃ sūryavatsarveṣāṃ paramasvarūpatvātsarvādhikaguṇaśālitvāt,

paramapremayogatvamiti prayojanaṃ ca sthāpitam ..45..

baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : māyāmohanivārakatvādyasya bhajanamabhidheyaṃ, sa bhagavāneva

bhajatāṃ premayogya ityarthādāgatamityāha ata iti . ato māyāmoha

nivārakabhajanatvādbhagavata eva paramapremayogyatvamiti

sambandhaḥ . jīvātmā premayogyaḥ, paramātmā bhagavāṃstu parama

premayogya ityarthaḥ . kuta ityapekṣāyāṃ hetucatuṣṭayamāha sarveti .

raśmīnāmityādi sūryo yathā raśmīnāṃ svarūpaṃ na, kintu parama

svarūpameva bhavatyevaṃ jīvānāṃ bhagavāniti svarūpaikyaṃ nirastam .

antaryāmibrāhmaṇātsaubālabrāhamaṇācca jīvātmanaḥ paramātmanaḥ

śarīrāṇi bhavanti, sa tu teṣāṃ śarīrī iti bhedaḥ prasphuṭo jñātaḥ . ataḥ

sarvādhiketi ..45..

tatrābhidheyaṃ ca tādṛśatvena dṛṣṭavānapi, yatastatpravṛttyarthaṃ śrī

bhāgavatākhyāmimāṃ sātvatasaṃhitāṃ pravartitavānityāha anartheti .

bhaktiyogaḥ śravaṇakīrtanādilakṣaṇaḥ sādhanabhaktiḥ, na tu prema

lakṣaṇaḥ . anuṣṭhānaṃ hyupadeśāpekṣaṃ prema tu tatprasādāpekṣamiti

tathāpi tasya tatprasādahetostatpremaphalagarbhatvātsākṣād

evānarthopaśamanatvaṃ, na tvanyasāpekṣatvena . yatkarmabhiryattapasā

jñānavairāgyataśca yatityādau (bhāgavatam 11.20.32), sarvaṃ madbhaktiyogena

madbhakto labhate'ñjasā . svargāpavargaṃ (bhāgavatam 11.20.33) ityādeḥ . jñānādes

tu bhaktisāpekṣatvameva śreyaḥsṛtiṃ bhaktim (bhāgavatam 10.14.4) ityādeḥ .

athavā anarthasya saṃsāravyasanasya tāvatsākṣādavyavadhānenopaśamanaṃ

sammohādidvayasya tu premākhyasvīyaphaladvāretyarthaḥ . ataḥ

pūrvavadevātrābhidheyaṃ darśitam ..46..

baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : tatrābhīti . tādṛśatvena māyānivārakatvena . dṛṣṭavānapi śrīvyāsaḥ .

anuṣṭhānaṃ kṛtisādhyam . tatprasādeti bhagavadanugrahetyarthaḥ . tasya

śravaṇādilakṣaṇasya . anyasāpekṣatvena karmādiparikaratvena . jñānādes

tviti jñānamatra yasya brahma (page 6) ityuktabrahmaviṣayakam .

sammohādīyādipadādātmano jaḍadehādirūpatāmananaṃ grāhyam . ata

atha pūrvadeva prayojanaṃ ca spaṣṭayituṃ pūrvoktasya pūrṇapuruṣasya ca

śrīkṛṣṇasvarūpatvaṃ vyañjayituṃ, granthaphalanirdeśadvārā tatra tad

anubhavāntaraṃ pratipādayannāha yasyāmiti . bhaktiḥ premā śravaṇa

rūpayā (page 109) sādhanabhaktyā sādhyatvāt . utpadyate āvirbhavati .

tasyānuṣaṅgikaṃ guṇamāha śoketi . atraiṣāṃ saṃskāro'pi naśyatīti bhāvaḥ .

(page 110) prītirna yāvanmayi vāsudeva na mucyate dehayogena tāvatiti

(bhāgavatam 5.5.6) śryṛṣabhadevavākyāt . paramapuruṣe pūrvoktapūrṇapuruṣe .

kimākāra ityapekṣāyāmāha kṛṣṇe . kṛṣṇastu bhagavān svayamityādi

śāstrasahasrabhāvitāntaḥkaraṇānāṃ paramparayā tatprasiddimadhya

baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : atheti . prayojanaṃ bhagavatpremalakṣaṇam . tatreti tatra samādhau śrī

vyāsasyānyamanubhavamityarthaḥ . āvirbhavatīti premṇaḥ

parāsārāṃśatvenotpattyasambhavādityarthaḥ . tasyeti premṇaḥ . atra premṇi

sati . kṛṣṇastu bhagavān svayamiti śrīsūtādīnāṃ śrījayadevādīnāṃ

cāsaṅkhyalokānāmityarthaḥ . tannāma iti tannāmnaḥ iti cobhayatra

kṛṣṇeti nāma bodhyam . rūḍhiriti prakṛtipratyayasambandhaṃ vinaiva

yaśodāsute prasiddhirmaṇḍapaśabdasyeva gṛhaviśeṣa ityarthaḥ ..47..

atha tasyaiva prayojanasya brahmānandānubhavādapi paramatvam

anubhūtavān . yatastādṛśaṃ śukamapi tadānandavaiśiṣṭyalambhanāya

tāmadhyāpayāmāsetyāha sa saṃhitāmiti . kṛtvānukramya ceti prathamataḥ

svayaṃ saṅkṣepeṇa kṛtvā paścāttu śrīnāradopadeśādanukrameṇa vivṛtyety

arthaḥ . ataeva śrīmadbhāgavataṃ bhāratānantaraṃ yadatra śrūyate, yac

cānyatrāṣṭādaśapurāṇānantaraṃ bhāratamiti taddvayamapi samāhitaṃ

syāt . brahmānandānubhavanimagnatvātnivṛttinirataṃ sarvato nivṛttau

nirataṃ, tatrāvyabhicāriṇamapītyarthaḥ ..48..

baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : atheti brahmānandādyasya brahmetyuktavastusukhādapi .

paramatvamutkṛṣṭatvamanubhūtavān śrīvyāsaḥ . tādṛśaṃ tad

ānandānubhavainamapi . tadānandeti kṛṣṇapremānandaprāpaṇāyety

arthaḥ . ata eveti . yadatreti atra śrībhāgavate . ayatra mātsyādau aṣṭādśa

purāṇāni kṛtvā satyavatīsutaḥ . cakre bhāratamākhyānaṃ vedārthair

upabṛṃhitamityanenetyarthaḥ . tatreti nivṛttāvityarthaḥ ..48..

tametaṃ śrīvedavyāsasya samādhijātānubhavaṃ śrīśaunaka

praśnottaratvena viśadayan sarvātmārāmānubhavena sahetukaṃ saṃvādayati

ātmārāmāśceti . nirgranthā vidhiniṣedhātītā nirgatāhaṅkāragranthayo

vā . ahaitukīṃ phalānusandhirahitām . atra sarvākṣepaparihārārthamāha

itthambhūta ātmārāmāṇāmapyākarṣaṇasvabhāvo guṇo yasya sa iti . tam

evārthaṃ śrīśukasyāpyanubhavena saṃvādayati harerguṇeti . śrī

vyāsadevādyatkiñcicchrutena guṇena pūrvamākṣiptā matiryasya saḥ .

paścādadhyagātmahadvistīrṇamapi . tataśca tatsaṅkathāsauhārdena

nityaṃ viṣṇujanāḥ priyā yasya tathābhūto vā, teṣāṃ priyo vā svayamabhavad

ityarthaḥ .

ayaṃ bhāvaḥ brahmavaivartānusāreṇa pūrvaṃ tāvadayaṃ garbhamārabhya

śrīkṛṣṇasya svaritayā māyānivārakatvaṃ jñātavān . tatra śrīvyedavyāsas

tu taṃ vaśīkartuṃ tadananyasādhanaṃ śrībhāgavatameva jñātvā, tad

guṇātiśayaprakāśamayāṃstadīyapadyaviśeṣān kathañccchrāvayitvā tena

tamākṣiptamatiṃ kṛtvā, tadeva pūrṇaṃ tamadhyāpayāmāseti śrī

bhāgavatamahimātiśayaḥ proktaḥ . tadevaṃ darśitaṃ vaktuḥ śrīśukasya

vedavyāsasya ca samānahṛdayam . tasmādvakturhṛdayānurūpameva

sarvatra tātparyaṃ paryālocanīyaṃ nānyathā . yadyattadanyathā

paryālocanaṃ, tatra tatra kupathagāmitaiveti niṣṭaṅkitam ..1.7.. śrīsūtaḥ ..

baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : samādhidṛṣṭasyārthasya sarvatattvajñasammatatvamāha tamity

ādinā . nirgatāhaṅkāreti . mahattattvājjāto'yamahaṅkāraḥ . na tu

svarūpānubandhīti bodhyaṃ, dvitīye sandarbhe evameva nirṇeṣyamāṇatvāt .

tadīyapadyaviśeṣāniti pūtanādhātrīgatidānapāṇḍavasārathya

pratīhāratvādipradarśakān katicicchlokānityarthaḥ . brahmavaivarte śuko

yonijātaḥ, bhārate tvayonijātaḥ kathyate . dāragrahaṇaṃ kanyāsantatiś

ceti . tadetatsarvaṃ kalpabhedena saṅgamanīyam ..49..

atha krameṇa vistaratastathaiva tātparyaṃ nirṇetuṃ sambandhābhidheya

prayojaneṣu ṣaḍbhiḥ sandarbhairnirṇeṣyamāṇeṣu prathamaṃ yasya vācya

vācakatāsambandhīdaṃ śāstraṃ tadeva dharmaḥ projjhitakaitavaḥ ityādi

padye sāmānyākāratastāvadāha vedyaṃ vāstavamatra vastu (bhāgavatam 1.1.2) iti ..

ṭīkā ca atra śrīmati sundare bhāgavate vāstavaṃ paramārthabhūtaṃ vastu

vedyaṃ, na tu vaiśeṣikādivaddravyaguṇādirūpamityeṣā ..1.1.. veda

baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : saṅkṣepeṇoktaṃ sambandhādikaṃ vistareṇa darśayitumupakramate

athetyādi . tathaiveti śrīśukādihṛdayānusāreṇetyarthaḥ . sāmānyata iti

anirdiṣṭasvarūpaguṇavibhūtikathanāyetyarthaḥ . vaiśeṣikādivaditi

kaṇādagautamoktaśāstravadityarthaḥ ..50..

atha kiṃ rūpaṃ tadvastutattvamityatrāha vadanti tattattvavidastattvaṃ yaj

jñānamadvayamiti (bhāgavatam 1.2.11) . jñānaṃ cidekarūpam . advayatvaṃ cāsya

svayaṃsiddhatādṛśātādṛśatattvāntarābhāvaātsvaśaktyekasahāyatvāt .

paramāśrayaṃ taṃ vinā tāsāmasiddhatvācca . tattvamiti parama

puruṣārthatādyotanayā paramasukharūpatvaṃ tasya bodhyate . ataeva tasya

nityatvaṃ ca darśitam ..1.2.. śrīsutaḥ ..52..

baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : svarūpanideśapūrvakaṃ tattvaṃ vaktumavatārayati atha kimiti . svayaṃ

siddheti ātmanaiva siddhaṃ khalu svayaṃ siddhamucyate . svayaṃ dāsās

tapasvinaḥ ityatra tapasvdāsyamātmanā tapasvinaiva siddhaṃ pratīyate

tadvat . tādṛśaṃ ca pareśavastveva, na tu tādṛśamapi jīvacaitanyaṃ, na tv

atādṛśaṃ prakṛtikālalakṣaṇaṃ jaḍavastu . tadabhāvādadvayatvam . tayoḥ

svayaṃsiddhatvābhāvaḥ kutaḥ . ityatrāha paramāśrayaṃ taṃ vineti . sva

śaktyekasahāye'pyadvayapadaṃ prayujyate dhanurdvitīyaḥ pāṇḍuriti .

nanu vedānte vjñānamānandaṃ brahma iti . vijñānānadasvarūpaṃ brahma

paṭhyate, iha jñānamiti katham . tatrāha tattvamiti . idamatra tattvamity

ukte sāre vastuni tattvaśabdo nīyate . sāraṃ ca sukhameva sarveṣām

upāyānāṃ tadarthatvāt . tathā ca sukharūpatvamapi tasyāgatam . nanu

jñānaṃ sukhaṃ cānityaṃ dṛṣṭaṃ tatrāha ataeveti . svayaṃsiddhatvena

vyākhyānānnityaṃ tadityarthaḥ . sadakāraṇaṃ yattannityamiti hi

tīrthakārāḥ . evaṃ ca tādṛśabrahmasambandhīdaṃ śāstramityuktam ..51..

nanu nīlapītādyākāraṃ kṣaṇikameva jñānaṃ dṛṣṭam, tatpunaradvayaṃ

nityaṃ jñānaṃ kathaṃ lakṣyate yanniṣṭhamidaṃ śāstram . ity atrāha sarva

vedāntasāraṃ yadbrahmātvekatvalakṣaṇam . vastvadvitīyaṃ tanniṣṭham

iti (bhāgavatam 12.13.12) satyaṃ jñānamanantaṃ brahma iti yasya svarūpamuktam,

yenāśrutaṃ śrutaṃ bhavati (Chā 6.1.3) iti yadvijñānena sarvavijñānaṃ

pratijñātam . sadeva saumyedamagra āsīt(Chā ū 6.2.1) ityādinā nikhila

jagadekakāraṇatā . tadaikṣata bahu syām (Chāū 6.2.3) ityanena satya

saṅkalpatā ca yasya pratipāditā, tena brahmaṇā svarūpaśaktibhyāṃ sarva

bṛhattamena sārdham . anena jīvenātmanā (Chā ū 6.3.2) iti

tadīyoktāvidantānirdeśena tato bhinnatve'pyātmatānirdeśena tadātmāṃśa

viśeṣatvena labdhasya bādarāyaṇasamādhidṛṣṭayukteratyabhinnatā

rahitasya jīvātmano yadekatvaṃ tattvamasi (Chāū 6.8.7) ityādau jātyā tad

aṃśabhūtacidrūpatvena samānākāratā . tadeva lakṣaṇaṃ prathamato jñāne

sādhakatamaṃ yasya tathābhūtaṃ yatsarvavedāntasāramadvitīyaṃ vastu tan

niṣṭhaṃ tadekaviṣayamidaṃ śrībhāgavatamiti prāktana

padyasthenānuṣaṅgaḥ . yathā janmaprabhṛti kaścidgṛhaguhāvaruddhaḥ

sūryaṃ vividiṣuḥ kathaṅcidgavākṣapatitaṃ sūryāṃśukaṇaṃ darśayitvā

kenacidupadiśyate eṣa sa iti . etattadaṃśajyotiḥsamānākāratayā tanmahā

jyotirmaṇḍalamanusandhīyatāmityarthastadvat . jīvasya tathā tad

aṃśatvaṃ ca tacchaktiviśeṣasiddhatvenaiva paramātmasandarbhe

sthāpayiṣyāmaḥ . tadetajjīvādilakṣaṇāṃśaviśiṣṭatayaivopaniṣadastasya

sāṃśatvamapi kvacidupadiśanti . niraṃśatvopadeśikā śrutistu kevalatan

niṣṭhā . atra kaivalyaikaprayojanamiti caturthapādaśca kaivalyapadasya

śuddhatvamātravacanatvena śuddhatvasya ca śuddhabhaktitvena

paryavasānena prītisandarbhe vyākhyāsyate ..12.13.. śrīsūtaḥ ..52..

baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : ārthikaṃ nityatvaṃ sthiraṃ kurvan, śāstrasya viśiṣṭabrahma

sambandhitvamāha nanu nīletyādinā . anena jīvenetyādi . tadīyoktau

paradevatāvākye . tadātmāṃśaviśeṣatvena tadvibhinnāṃśatvena, na tu

matsyādivat svāṃśatvenetyarthaḥ . jīvātmano yadekatvamiti jīvasya cid

rūpatvena jātyā yadbrahmasamānākāratvaṃ tadeva tasya brahmaṇā

sahaikyamiti vyaktibhedaḥ prasphuṭaḥ . evameva yathetyādidṛṣṭāntenāpi

darśitaḥ . tadetaditi upaniṣadaḥ so'kāmayata bahu syāmityādyāḥ .

niraṃśatvopadeśiketi satyaṃ jñānamanantam (ṭaittū 2.1), niṣkalaṃ niṣriyaṃ

śāntaṃ niravadyaṃ nirañjanam (śvetū 6.19) ityādyā śrutistu kevalatan

niṣṭhā viśeṣyamātraparetyarthaḥ . anabhivyaktasaṃsthānaguṇakaṃ brahma

vadatīti yāvat ..52..

tatra yadi tvampadārthaysa jīvātmano jñānatvaṃ nityatvaṃ ca prathamato

vicāragocaraḥ syāttadaiva tatpadārthasya tādṛśatvaṃ subodhaṃ syāditi . tad

bodhayitumanyārthaśca parāmarśaḥ (Vs. 1.3.20) iti nyāyena jīvātmanastad

rūpatvamāha .

nātmā jajāna na mariṣyati naidhate'sau

na kṣīyate savanavidvyabhicāriṇāṃ hi .

sarvatra śaśvadanapāyyupalabdhimātraṃ

prāṇo yathendriyabalena vikalpitaṃ sat .. (bhāgavatam 11.3.38)

ātmā śuddho jīvaḥ . na jajāna na jātaḥ . janmābhāvādeva tadanantarāstitā

lakṣaṇo vikāro'pi nāsti . naidhate na vardhate . vṛddhyabhāvādeva

vipariṇāmo'pi nirastaḥ . hi yasmāt . vyabhicāriṇāmāgamāpāyināṃ bāla

yuvādidehānāṃ devamanuṣyādyākāradehānāṃ vā . savanavittattatkāla

draṣṭā . nahyavasthāvatāṃ draṣṭā tadavastho bhavatītyarthaḥ . niravasthaḥ

ko'sāvātmā . ata āha upalabdhimātraṃ jñānaikarūpam . kathambhūtam .

sarvatra dehe, śaśvatsarvadā anuvartamānamiti .

nanu nīlajñānaṃ naṣṭaṃ pītajñānaṃ jātamiti pratīterna

jñānasyānapāyitvam . tatrāha indriyabaleneti . sadeva jñānamekamindriya

balena vividhaṃ kalpitam . nīlādyākārā vṛttaya eva jāyante naśyanti ca na

jñānamiti bhāvaḥ . ayamāgamāpāyitadavadhibhedena prathamastarkaḥ .

draṣṭṛdṛśyabhedena dvitīyo'pi tarko jñeyaḥ . vyabhicāriṣvavasthā

vyabhicāre dṛṣṭāntaḥ prāṇo yatheti .

baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : jīvātmani jñāte paramātmā sujñātaḥ syādityuktam . tadarthaṃ

jīvātmānaṃ nirūpayiṣyannavatārayati tatra yadītyādinā . anyārthaśceti

brahmasūtram . daharavidyā chāndogye paṭhyate yadidamasmin brahma

pure daharaṃ puṇḍarīkaṃ veśma daharo'sminnantarākāśastasmin yadantas

tadanveṣṭavyam (Chāū 8.1.1) iti . atropāsakasya śarīraṃ brahmapuraṃ, tatra

hṛtpuṇḍarīkastho daharaḥ paramātmā dhyeyaḥ kathyate . tatrāpahata

pāpmatvādiguṇāṣṭakamanveṣṭavyamupadiśyata iti siddhāntitam . tad

vākyamadhye sa eṣa samprasādo'smāccharīrātsamutthāya paraṃ jyotir

upasampadya svena rūpeṇābhiniṣpadyate, sa uttamaḥ puruṣaḥ (Chā 8.12.3) iti

vākyaṃ paṭhitam . atra samprasādo labdhavijñāno jīvastena yatparaṃ jyotir

upapannaṃ sa eva puruṣottama ityarthaḥ . daharavākyāntarāle jīva

parāmarśaḥ kimarthamiti cettatrāha anyārtha iti . tatra jīva

parāmarśo'nyārthaḥ . yaṃ prāpya jīvaḥ svasvarūpeṇābhiniṣpadyate sa

paramātmeti paramātmajñānārtha ityarthaḥ . na jajāneti jāyate'sti vardhate

vipariṇamate'pakṣīyate naśyati ca iti bhāvavikārāḥ ṣaṭpaṭhitāḥ . te jīvasya

na santi iti samudāyārthaḥ . nanu nīlajñānamityādi jñānarūpam

ātmavastu jñātṛ bhavati . prakāśavastu sūryaḥ prakāśayitā yathā . tataśca

svarūpānubandhitvājjñānaṃ tasya nityaṃ, tasyendriyapraṇālyā nīlādiniṣṭhā

yā viṣayatā vṛttipadavācyā saiva nīlādyapagame naśyatīti ..53..

dṛṣṭāntaṃ vivṛṇvannindriyādilayena nirvikārātmopalabdhiṃ darśayati

aṇḍeṣu peśiṣu taruṣvaviniściteṣu

prāṇo hi jīvamupadhāvati tatra tatra .

sanne yadindriyagaṇe'hami ca prasupte

kūṭastha āśayamṛte tadanusmṛtirnaḥ .. [bhāgavatam 11.3.39]

aṇḍeṣu aṇḍajeṣu . peśiṣu jarāyujeṣu . taruṣu udbhijjeṣu . aviniściteṣu

svedajeṣu . upadhāvati anuvartate . evaṃ dṛṣṭānte nirvikāratvaṃ pradarśya

dārṣṭāntike'pi darśayati . katham . tadaivātmā savikāra iva pratīyate yadā

jāgare indriyagaṇaḥ . yadā ca svapne tatsaṃskāravānahaṅkāraḥ . yadā tu

prasuptaṃ tadā tasmin prasupta indriyagaṇe sanne līne . ahami anaṅkāre ca

sanne līne . kūṭastho nirvikāra evātmā . kutaḥ . āśayamṛte liṅgaśarīram

upādhiṃ vinā . vikārahetorupādherabhāvātityarthaḥ .

nanvahaṅkāraparyantasya sarvasya laye śūnyamevāvaśiṣyate . kva tadā

kūṭastha ātmā . ata āha tadanusmṛtirnaḥ . tasyākhaṇḍātmanaḥ suṣpti

sākṣiṇaḥ smṛtiḥ naḥ asmākaṃ jāgraddraṣṭṝṇāṃ jāyate etāvantaṃ kālaṃ

sukhamahamasvāpsaṃ na kiñcidavediṣamiti . ato'nanubhūtasya

tasyāsmaraṇādastyeva suṣptau tādrgātmānubhavaḥ . viṣaya

sambandhābhāvācca na spaṣṭa iti bhāvaḥ . ataḥ svaprakāśamātravastunaḥ

sūryādeḥ prakāśavadupalabhdimātrasyāpyātmana upalabhdiḥ svāśraye'sty

evetyāyātam . tathā ca śrutiḥ yadvai tanna paśyati paśyan vai
