(Viড় 6.7.61) iti śrīvaiṣṇavāt . sa yāvadurvyā bharamīśvareśvaraḥ svakālaśaktyā kṣapayaṃścaredbhuvi (bhāgavatam 10.1.22) iti śrībhāgavatācca . tatra vibhuvijñānamīśvaraḥ, aṇuvijñānaṃ jīvaḥ . ubhayaṃ nityajñānaguṇakam . sattvādiguṇatrayaviśiṣṭaṃ jaḍaṃ dravyaṃ māyā . guṇatrayaśūnyaṃ bhūta vartamānādivyavahārakāraṇaṃ jaḍaṃ dravyaṃ tu kālaḥ . karmāpyanādi vināśi cāsti na karmāvibhāgāditi cennānāditvātiti (Vs2.1.35) iti sūtrāditi vastusthitiḥ śrutismṛtisiddhā veditavyā ..34.. yarhyeva yadekaṃ cidrūpaṃ brahma māyāśrayatāvalitaṃ vidyāmayaṃ tarhy eva tanmāyāviṣayatāpannamavidyāparibhūtaṃ cetyuktamiti jīveśvara vibhāgo ‘vagataḥ . tataśca svarūpasāmarthyavailakṣaṇyena taddvitayaṃ mitho vilakṣaṇasvarūpamevetyāgatam ..35.. baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : yattu ekamevādvitīyam (Chāū 6.2.1), vijñānamānandaṃ brahma (Bṛhadū 3.9.28), neha nānāsti kiñcana (Bṛhadū 4.4.19) ityādiśrutibhyo nirviśeṣacinmātrādvaitaṃ brahma vāstavyam . atha sadasadvilakṣaṇatvād anirvacanīyena vidyāvidyāvṛttikenājñānena sambandhāttasmād vidyopahitamīśvaracaitanyamavidyopahitaṃ jīvacaitanyaṃ cābhūt . svarūpa jñānena nivṛtte tvajñāne na tatreśvarajīvabhāvaḥ, kintu nirviśeṣādvitīya cinmātrarūpāvasthitirbhavedityāha māyī śaṅkaraḥ . tatrāha yarhyeva yad ekamiti visphuṭārtham . ityuktamiti . yugapadevākasmādevājñānayogād ekasya bhāgasya vidyāśrayatvamanyasyāvidyāparābhūtiriti . kim aparāddhaṃ tena brahmaṇā yena vividhavikṣepa kleśānubhavabhājanatābhūt . punarapyākasmikājñāna sambandhasyāśakyatvādvaktumiti na taduktarītyā tadvibhāgo vācyaḥ kintu śrīvyāsadṛṣṭarītyaiva so'smābhiravagata ityarthaḥ ..35.. na copādhitāratamyamayaparicchedapratibimbatvādivyavasthayā tayor vibhāgaḥ syāt ..36.. baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : yattu indro māyābhiḥ pururūpa īyate (ṛV 6.47.18, Bṛhadū 2.5.19) ity ādiśrutestasyādvitīyasya brahmaṇo māyayā paricchedādīśvarajīva vibhāgaḥ syāt . tatra vidyayā paricchinno mahān khaṇḍa īśvaraḥ . avidyayā paricchinnaḥ kanīyān khaṇḍastu jīvaḥ . yathā ghaṭenāvacchinnaḥ śarāveṇāvacchinnaścākāśakhaṇḍo mahadalpatāvyapadeśaṃ bhajati . yathā hyayaṃ jyotirātmā vivasvān apo bhittvā bahudhaiko'nugacchan . upādhinā kriyate bhedarūpo devaḥ kṣetreṣvevamajo'yamātmā .. (śruti?) ityādiṣu brahmaṇastasya pratibimbaśravaṇāttadvibhāgaḥ syāt . vidyāyāṃ pratibimba īśvaraḥ . avidyāyāṃ pratibimbastu jīvaḥ . yathā sarasi raveḥ pratibimbaḥ yathā ca ghaṭe pratibimbo mahadalpatvavyapadeśaṃ bhajate tadvadityāha śaṅkaraḥ . tadidaṃ nirasanāya darśayati na ceti . anayā rītyā tayorvibhāgo na ca syādityanvayaḥ ..36.. tatra yadyupādheranāvidyakatvena vāstavatvaṃ tarhyaviṣayasya tasya paricchedaviṣayatvāsambhavaḥ . nirdharmakasya vyāpakasya niravayavasya ca pratibimbatvāyogo'pi . upādhisambandhābhāvātbimbapratibimba bhedābhāvāt, dṛśyatvābhāvācca . upādhiparicchinnākāśasthajyotir aṃśasyeva pratibimbo dṛśyate, na tvākāśasya dṛśyatvābhāvādeva ..37.. baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : kuto na vācya iti tadanupapatterevetyāha tatra yadyupādheriti . paricchedapakṣaṃ nirākaroti anāvidyakatvena rajjubhujaṅgavadajñāna racitatvābhāvena vastubhūtatve satītyarthaḥ . aviṣayasyeti agṛhyo na hi gṛhyate iti (Bṛhadū 3.9.26) śruteḥ sarvāspṛśyasya tasya brahmaṇa ityarthaḥ . idamatra bodhyam na ca ṭaṅkacchinnapāṣāṇakhaṇḍavadvāstavopādhi cchinno brahmakhaṇḍaviśeṣa īśvaro jīvaśca . brahmaṇo'cchedyatvād akhaṇḍatvābhyupagamācca . ādimattvāpattaiśceśvarajīvayoḥ . yata ekasya dvidhā tridhā vidhānaṃ chedaḥ . nāpyacchinna evopādhisaṃyukto brahma pradeśaviśeṣa eva sa saḥ . upādhau calatyupādhisaṃyuktibrahmapradeśa calanāyogātpratikṣaṇamupādhisaṃyuktabrahmapradeśabhedād anukṣaṇamupahitatvānupahitatvāpatteḥ . na ca kṛtsnaṃ brahmaivopahitaṃ sa saḥ . anupahitabrahmavyapadeśāsiddheḥ . nāpi brahmādhiṣṭhānam . upādhireva sa saḥ . muktāvīśajīvābhāvāpatteriti tucchaḥ pariccheda vādaḥ . atha pratibimbapakṣaṃ nirākaroti nirdharmakasyetyādinā . nirdharmakasyopādisambandhābhāvāt . vyāpakasya bimbapratibimba bhedābhāvāt . niravayavasya dṛśyatvābhāvācca brahmaṇaṅpratibimba īśvaro jīvaśca netyarthaḥ . rūpādidharmaviśiṣṭasya paricchinnasya sāvayavasya ca sūryādestadvidūre jalādyupādhau pratibimbo dṛṣṭaḥ tad vilakṣaṇasya brahmaṇaḥ sa na śakyo vaktumityarthaḥ . nanvākāśasya tādṛśasyāpi pratibimbadarśanādbrahmaṇaḥ sa bhaviṣyatīti cettatrāha upādhīti grahanakṣatraprabhāmaṇḍalasyetyarthaḥ . anyathā vāyukāla diśāmapi sa darśanīyaḥ . yattu dhvaneḥ partidhvaniriva brahmaṇaḥ pratibimbaḥ syādityāha tanna cāru . arthāntaratvāditi pratibimbavādo'py atitucchaḥ ..37.. tathā vāstavaparicchedādau sati sāmānādhikaraṇyajñānamātreṇa na tat tyāgaśca bhavet . tatpadārthaprabhāvastatra kāraṇamiti cedasmākameva matasammatam ..38.. baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : brahmaivāhamiti jñānamātreṇa tadrūpāvasthitiḥ syāditi yad abhimataṃ tatkahlūpādhervāstavatvapakṣe na sambhavatītyāha tathā vāstaveti . ādinā pratibimbo grāhyaḥ . na khalu nigaḍitaḥ kaściddīno rājaivāhamiti jñānamātrādrājā bhavan dṛṣṭa iti bhāvaḥ . nanu brahmānusandhisāmarthyādbhavediti cettatrāha tatpadārtheti . tathā ca tvanmatakṣatiriti ..38.. upādherāvidyakatve tu tatra tatparicchinnatvāderapyaghaṭamānatvād āvidyakatvameveti ghaṭākāśādiṣu vāstavopādhimayataddarśanayā na teṣāmavāstavasvapnadṛṣṭāntopajīvināṃ siddhāntaḥ sidhyati, ghaṭamānāghaṭamānayoḥ saṅgateḥ kartumaśakyatvāt . tataśca teṣāṃ tat tatsarvamavidyāvilasitameveti svarūpamaprāptena tena tena tattad vyavasthāpayitumaśakyam ..39.. baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : athopādherāvidyakatvapakṣe pariccehdādivādadvayaṃ nirākaroti upādheriti . āvidyakatve rajjubhujaṅgādivanmithyātve satītyarthaḥ . tatropādhiparicchinnatvatatpratibimbatvayorapyanupapadyamānatvān mithyātvameveti hetoḥ . ghaṭākāśādiṣghaṭaparicchinnākāśe ghaṭāmbu pratibimbākāśe ca vāstavoopādhimayatadubhayadṛṣṭāntadarśanayā teṣāṃ cinmātrādvaitnāmekajīvavādapariniṣṭhatvādavāstavasvapna dṛṣṭāntopajīvināṃ siddhānto na sidhyati . upādhermithyātve tena paricchedaḥ pratibimbaśca brahmaṇo mithaiva syāt . ato mithyopādhidṛṣṭāntatvena satyaghaṭaghaṭāmbunoḥ pradarśanam asamañjasameva . ghaṭaghaṭāmbudṛṣṭāntapradarśanaṃ ghaṭamānaṃ, vidyāvidhāvṛttirūpadārṣṭāntikapradarśanaṃ svaghaṭamānam . tayoḥ saṅgatiḥ sādṛśyavilakṣaṇā kartumaśakyaiva sādṛśyābhāvāt . tataśceti tat tatsarvaṃ paricchedapratibimbakalpanamavidyāvilasitamajñāna vijṛmbhitameva . iti evamuktarītyā . svarūpamaprāptena asiddhena . tena paricchedavādena . tena pratibimbavādena ca . tattadvyavasthāpayituṃ pratipādayitumaśakyam . tataśca hantṛhatanyāyena vyāsadṛṣṭa prakārakastadvibhāgo dhruvaḥ ..39.. iti brahmāvidyayoḥ paryavasāne sati yadeva brahma cin mātratvenāvidyāyogasyātyantābhāvāspadatvācchuddhaṃ tadeva tadyogād aśuddhyā jīvaḥ . punastadeva jīvāvidyākalpitamāyāśrayatvādīśvarastad eva ca tanmāyāviṣayatvājjīva iti virodhastadavastha eva syāt . tatra ca śuddhāyāṃ cityavidyā . tadavidyākalpitopādhau tasyāmīśvarākhyāyāṃ vidyeti, tathā vidyāvattve'pi māyikatvamityasamañjasā ca kalpanā syādity ādyanusandheyam ..40.. baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : nanu paricchedādivādadvaye nāsmākaṃ tātparyaṃ tasyājñabodhanāya kalpitatvāt . kintvekajīvavāda eva tadasti . sa eva māyā parimohitātmā śarīramāsthāya karoti sarvam . striyannapānādivicitrabhogaiḥ sa eva jāgratparituṣṭimeti .. (Kaivalyaū 12) ityādi kaivalyopaniṣadi tasyiavopapāditatvāt . tadvādaścetthamekam evādvitīyamityādyuktaśrutibhyo'dvitīyacinmātro hyātmā . sa cātmany avidyayā guṇamayīṃ māyāṃ tadvaiṣamyajāṃ kāryasaṃhitaṃ ca kalpanyann asmadarthamekaṃ yuṣmadarthāṃśca bahūn kalpayati . tatrāsmadarthaḥ svasvarūpaḥ puruṣaḥ . yuṣmadarthaśca mahadādīni bhūmyantāni jaḍāni . svatulyāni puruṣāntarāṇi, savaśvarākhyaḥ puruṣaviśeṣaścetyevaṃ trividhaḥ . jīveśāvābhāsena karoti māyā cāvidyā ca svayameva bhavati iti (ṇṭū 2.9) iti śrutyantarācca . guṇayogādeva kartṛtvabhoktṛtve tatrātmanyadhyaste . yathā svapne kaścidrājadhānīṃ rājānaṃ tatprajāśca kalpayati, tanniyamyamātmānaṃ ca manyate, tadvat . jāte ca jñāne, jāgare ca sati, tato'nyanna kiñcidastīti cinmātramekamātmasvastviti . tamimaṃ vādaṃ nirākartumāha iti brahmeti . iti evaṃ pūrvoktarītyā paricchedādivādadvayasya pratyākhyāne jāte, brahma cāvidyā ceti dvayoḥ paryavasāne satītyarthaḥ . atyantābhāvāspadatvāditi agṛhyo na hi gṛhyate (Bṛhadū 3.9.26) ityādi śruterevetyarthaḥ . virodhastadavastha iti vorodhatvādevāśakyavyavasthāpana ityarthaḥ . tava ca śuddhāyāmiti śuddhe brahmaṇyakasmādavidyāsambandhastatsambandhāttasya jīvatvam . tena jīvena kalpitāyā māyāyā āśrayo bhūtvā tad brahmaiveśvaraḥ . tasyeśvarasya māyayā paribhūtaṃ brahmaiva tajjīvaḥ . ity ādi vipralāpo'yamaviduṣāmeva, na tu viduṣāmiti bhāvaḥ . māyikatvaṃ pratārakatvamityarthaḥ . sa eva māyā iti śrutistu brahmāyattavṛttikatva brahmavyāpyatvābhyāṃ brahmaṇo'natirikto jīva ityeva nivedayantī gatārthā . jīveśau iti śrutistu māyāvimohitatārkikādiparikalpitajīveśa paratayā gatārtheti na kiñcidanupapannam ..40.. kiṃ ca, yadyatrābheda eva tātparyamabhaviṣyattarhyekameva brahmājñānena bhinnaṃ, jñānena tu tasya bhedamayaṃ duḥkhaṃ vilīyata ity apaśyadityevāvakṣyat . tathā śrībhagavallīlādīnāṃ vāstavatvābhāve sati śrīśukahṛdayavirodhaśca jāyate ..42.. baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : anupapattyantaramāha kiṃ ceti . atra śrībhāgavate śāstre . ityeveti pūrṇaḥ puruṣaḥ kaścidasti tadāśritayā māyayā jīvo vimohito'narthaṃ bhajati . tadanarthopaśamanī ca pūrṇasya tasya bhaktiḥ ityapaśyat . ityevaṃ nāvakṣyadityarthaḥ ..41.. tasmātparicchedapratibimbatvādipratipādakaśāstrāṇyapi kathañcittat sādṛśyena gauṇyaiva vṛttyā pravarteran . ambuvadagrahaṇāttu na tathātvam (Vs. 3.2.19), vṛddhihrāsabhāktvamantar (page 98) bhāvādubhaya sāmañjasyodevam (Vs3.2.20) iti pūrvottarapakṣamayanyāyābhyām ..42.. baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : tasmāditi . tatsādṛśyena paricchinnapratibimbatulyatvenetyarthaḥ . siṃho devadattaḥ ityatra yathā gauṇyā vṛttyā siṃhatulyatvaṃ devadattasyocyate, na tu siṃhatvaṃ tadvadityarthaḥ . nanvevaṃ kena nirṇītam iti cet . sūtrakṛtā śrīvyāsenaiveti tatsūtradvayaṃ darśayati . tatraikena tadvādadvayamasambhavānnirasyati ambuvaditi . yathāmbunā bhūkhaṇḍasya paricchedaḥ, evamupādhinā brahmapradeśasya sa syāt . na, ambunā bhūkhaṇḍasyevopādhinā brahmapradeśasya grahaṇābhāvāt . agṛhyo na hi gṛhyate (Bṛhadū 3.9.26) iti hi śrutiḥ . ato na tathātvaṃ brahmaṇa upādhiparicchinnatvaṃ netyarthaḥ . yadvā, ambuni yathā raveḥ partibimbaḥ paricchinnasya gṛhyate, evam upādhau brahmaṇaḥ pratibimbo vyāpakasya na gṛhyate . ato na tathātvam tasya pratibimbo netyarthaḥ . tarhi śāstradvayaṃ kathaṃ saṅgacchate . tatrāha, vṛddhīti dvitīyena . taddvayaṃ na mukhyavṛttyā pravartate . kintu vṛddhihrāsabhāktvaṃ guṇāṃśamādāyaiva . yathā mahadalpau bhū khaṇḍau, yathā ca ravitatpratibimbau vṛddhihrāsabhājau, tathā pareśa jīvau syātām . kutaḥ? antarbhāvāt . etasminnaṃśe śāstratātparyapūrteḥ . evaṃ satyubhayordṛṣṭāntāntikayoḥ sāmañjasyātsaṅgaterityarthaḥ . pūrva nyāyena paricchedādivādadvayasya khaṇḍanam, uttaranyāyena tu gauṇa vṛttyā tasya vyavasthāpanamiti . brahmaṇaḥ khaṇḍaḥypratibimbo vā jīva eveti sūtrakṛtāṃ matam . īśo'pi brahmaṇaḥ khaṇḍaḥ pratibimbo veti māyināmīśavimukhānāṃ matamiti bodhavyam ..42.. tata evābhedaśāstrāṇyubhayościdrūpatve jīvasamūhasya durghaṭa ghaṭanāpaṭīyasyā svābhāvikatadacintyaśaktyā svabhāvata eva tadraśmi paramāṇuguṇasthānīyatvāttadvyatirekeṇāvyatirekeṇa ca virodhaṃ parihṛtyāgre muhurapi tadetadvyāsasamādhilabdhasiddhāntayojanāya yojanīyāni ..43.. baladeva vidyābhūṣaṇa : tata iti paricchedādiśāstradvayasya tatsādṛśyārthakatvena nītatvādeva hetoḥ . tvaṃ vā ahamasmi bhagavo deva, ahaṃ vai tvamasi tattvamasi ity ādīnyabhedaśāstrāṇi . tadetadvyāsasamādhisiddhāntayojanāya muhur apyagre yojanīyānīti sambandhaḥ . kena hetunetyāha ubhayorīśajīvayoś cidrūpatvena hetunā . yathā gauraśyāmayostaruṇakumārayorvā viprayor vipratvenaikyam . tataśca jātyaivābhedo, natu vyaktorityarthaḥ . tathā jīva samūhasya durghaṭaghaṭanāpaṭīyasyā tadacintyaśaktyā svabhāvata eva tadraśmiparamāṇuguṇasthānīyatvāttadvyatirekeṇa, avyatirekeṇa ca hetunā virodhaṃ parihṛtyeti . pareśasya kahlu svarūpānubandhinī parākhyā śaktiruṣṇateva raverasti . parāsya śaktirvividhaiva śrūyate svābhāvikī jñānabalakriyā ca (śvetū 6.8) iti mantravarṇāt . viṣṇuśaktiḥ parā proktā (Viড় 6.7.61) iti smaraṇācca . sā hi taditarānnikhilānniyamayati . yasmāttad anye sarve'rthāḥ svasvabhāvamatyajanto vartante . prakṛtiḥ kālaḥ karma ca svāntaḥsthitamapīśvaraṃ sparṣṭuṃ na śaknoti . kintu tato bibhyedeva svasvabhāve tiṣṭhati . jīvagaṇāśca tatsajātīyo'pi na tena samparcituṃ śaknoti kintu tamāśrayanneva vṛttiṃ labhate . mukhyaprāṇamiva śrotrādir
