Эмоции, восприятие и внимание

Эволюционная точка зрения предполагает, что значимые события окружающего мира должны подвергаться перцептивной обработке в первую очередь. В частности, этого позволяют добиться эмоции, кото-рые усиливают внимание, повышая способность к обнаружению эмо-ционально окрашенных событий. Влияние эмоций на внимание можно изучать с использованием классических задач зрительного поиска и про-странственной ориентировки. Типичный результат выполнения задачи зрительного поиска состоит в том, что время, необходимое для отыскания целевого стимула, возрастает прямо пропорционально количеству отвле-кающих стимулов, что указывает на последовательную обработку. Одна-ко в случае с эмоционально окрашенными стимулами, целевой стимул обнаруживается быстрее, если представляет собой лицо, выражающее положительную или отрицательную эмоцию, или изображение паука или змеи, причем наиболее сильный эффект захвата внимания наблюдается для стимулов, вызывающих страх (Ohman et al. 2001). Сходные эффекты возникают и в задачах пространственной ориентировки, в которых реак-ция на целевой стимул оказывается быстрее, если он предъявляется с той

же стороны, что и эмоционально окрашенная подсказка (например, изо-бражение лица или паука, связанное с опасностью слово или геометриче-ская фигура, на которую выработан условный ответ), и медленнее, если целевой стимул предъявляется с противоположной стороны относитель-но такой подсказки (Armony, Dolan 2002; Mogg et al. 1997). Результаты томографических исследований с использованием задач пространствен-ной ориентировки локализуют возможный источник данного эффекта в орбитофронтальной коре головного мозга2 (Armony, Dolan 2002).

«Захват внимания» — не единственный способ влияния эмоциональ-ных стимулов на восприятие. Накапливается все больше данных, указы-вающих на то, что механизмы такого влияния могут не зависеть от внима-ния. Перцептивная обработка в условиях ограниченного внимания, как, например, обработка информации о стимулах, лежащих за пределами фокуса пространственного внимания, обычно обозначается как пред-внимательная. В задачах со зрительной маскировкой предъявляемый на несколько миллисекунд целевой объект может остаться незамеченным, если сразу вслед за ним предъявляется «маскирующий» стимул. В слу-чае же если при этом замаскированный целевой стимул эмоционально окрашен — например, это гневное лицо или изображение паука — на продолжение обработки такого стимула указывает кожно-гальваническая реакция (КГР), которая различается для стимулов, вызывающих страх и не вызывающих страха, даже если испытуемый сообщает, что не видел целевого стимула (Esteves et al. 1994).
