TEXT 23 After some days, Jagannā tha Miś ra passed away from this world to the transcendental world, and both mother and son were very much aggrieved in their hearts.
Anubh.: Caitanya-bhā gavata Adi, chapter 8 [109]: hena-mate kata dina thā ki’ miś ra-vara antardhā na hailā nitya-ś uddha kalevara [“After passing some days like this, Jagannā tha Miś ra, whose body is eternally pure, departed from this world. ”] miś rera vijaye prabhu kā ndilā vistara daś aratha-vijaye yehena raghuvara [“After his departure, the Lord cried profusely, just as Rā macandra cried after the departure of Mahā rā ja Daś aratha. ”] duḥ kha baḍ a, —e sakala vistā ra karite duḥ kha haya, —ataeva kahiluṅ saṅ kṣ epe [“Elaborating on these topics is too painful. Therefore I have given only a brief description. ”]
TEXT 27 “Merely a house is not a home, for it is a wife who gives a home its meaning. If one lives at home with his wife, together they can fulfill all the interests of human life. ”
Anubh.: see Mahabharata, Santi-parva, 144. 6
TEXT 29 When the Lord and Lakṣ mī devī met, their relationship awakened, having already been settled, and coincidentally the marriage-maker Vanamā lī came to see Ś acī mā tā.
Purp.: Vanamā lī Ghaṭ aka, a resident of Navadvī pa and a brā hmaṇ a by caste, arranged the marriage of the Lord to Lakṣ mī devī. He was formerly Viś vā mitra, who negotiated the marriage of Lord Rā macandra, and later he was the brā hmaṇ a who negotiated the marriage of Lord Kṛ ṣ ṇ a with Rukmiṇ ī. That same brā hmaṇ a acted as the marriage-maker of the Lord in caitanya-lī lā.
Anubh.: Gaura-gaṇ oddeś a-dī pikā (49): visvamitro ’pi ghatakah sri-ramodvaha-karmani rukminya presito vipro yasya sri-kesavam prati tavayam vanamali yat karmanacaryatam gatah
[“The same person who appeared as Visvamitra Muni, who arranged the marriage of Lord Ramacandra, and who also appeared as the brahmana messenger sent by Srimati Rukmini-devi to Lord Kesava, also appeared in Lord Caitanya's pastimes as Vanamali Acarya, who was famous as a learned astrologer. ”] TEXT 31 Vṛ ndā vana dā sa Ṭ hā kura has elaborately described all these pastimes of the Lord’s early age. What I have given is but a condensed presentation of the same pastimes.
Anubh.: See Caitanya-bhā gavata Adi, chapter 10 (regarding the Lord’s marriage). In chapter 8, there is an extensive description of Nimā i’s sacred thread ceremony and His giving gold to His mother.
