I. Reading
Christopher Wren, a famous architect, was also known as a talented mathematician, astronomer, anatomist and inventor. He designed a hygrometer (a device to measure humidity), a box-beehive and invented surveying devices, musical instruments and developed techniques for underwater construction and submarine navigation. He was interested in computational and optical astronomy and studied the phases of Saturn. In 1865 he with John Wilkins built an 80 foot telescope to observe the Moon. He also studied anatomy and carried out experiments with intravenous injections into animals.

Throughout 1660s and 1670s he made a lot of reports on different subjects for the meetings of the Royal Society. In 1678-1680 he served as Vice-President of the Royal Society and in 1681 he was elected President.

As an architect he designed the Oxford's Sheldonian Theatre and St. Paul's Cathedral in London.

II. Writing

III. Speaking
Most of my day I'm busy with my studies and it is difficult to find spare time for relaxation and having a rest. When I come home after school I have dinner and watch TV a little, just for a change. When I feel that I am too tired after my lessons I have a short sleep in the afternoon and then I can do my homework efficiently.

To my mind, it is very important for a person to have some free time and not to be always overwhelmed with work and studies. When you make short breaks for rest it's a good change of the activity and opportunity to relax. You can spend time on your hobbies and interests, on socializing with friends or watching some film or news on TV. The way of spending leisure time depends on person's interests.

In the evening I like doing different things such as reading detective stories, listening to music, or playing computer games. But my favourite hobby is solving crossword puzzles. It's not only interesting, but also very useful. When you try to solve the puzzle you find out and learn a lot of different facts because in puzzles there are questions about famous people, the geographical places, countries, scientific achievements and so on. You also train your brain. The crosswords are published in newspapers and magazines and there are special newspapers that contain crosswords only. I sometimes try to make up my own puzzle and I can say that it is not less interesting. All the members of our family like to take part in solving the puzzles and this unites us very much.

At weekends I have more free time so I prefer outdoor activities like walking in the park or playing tennis or football with my friends. Sometimes we go camping and fishing with my family when the weather is fine. It gives me good relaxation and a feeling of getting close to nature.
