Examination Card №38 I. Reading Car manufacturers are now developing electric cars which will cause less pollution. Riding a bicycle and walking are the cheapest and most environmentally-friendly ways to travel. In Oxford and Cambridge bicycles are common, and many other cities now have special cycle routes or cycle lanes beside the main road. In the US bicycles are used mostly for fun or sport. II. Writing III. Speaking As for me I'd like to find a pen friend from Great Britain or the USA because I learn English at school and I'd like to communicate with the person for whom English is a native language. I think it is much easier to learn a foreign language with the help of a friend, than to attempt to do so through books or other sources. My name is Oleh and I'm 16 years old. I live in Ternopil, a very nice town in western Ukraine. Our country is situated in the centre of Europe and borders on Russia, Moldova, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and Belarus. The territory of Ukraine is twice as big as Italy. There are many tourist attractions in our country. People come to Ukraine to admire the wonderful ancient castles and cathedrals, as well as enchanting landscapes of the Carpathian Mountains and the Black Sea coast in the Crimea. Tourists who visit our country are impressed by our unique customs, traditions and culture. I am interested in IT studies, languages, football (soccer). In my spare time I like playing football and watching football matches, reading teen magazines about computers, watching action films, playing computer games. I'd like to get acquainted with a boy or a girl who share the same interests and are of my age. There are so many interesting topics to talk about. Firstly, I'd like to learn more about teen life in your country. What are your interests, hobbies, attitude to sports? Secondly, I know a lot about Great Britain and the USA from my English lessons but it is interesting for me to learn more about the country from the person who lives there and can express his/her own understanding of this country, its people, culture and traditions.
