Examination Card №12I. Reading The Revolutionary War began in 1775. In 1776, leaders from the 13 colonies, which wanted to separate from England and become independent, met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and signed the Declaration of Independence written by Thomas Jefferson. Most people do not go to work on the Fourth of July because it is a national holiday. Families and friends get together outdoors for picnics and barbecues to try grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, potato chips, and watermelon. You see patriotic colours everywhere on Independence Day. You can see colourful fireworks prepared by trained staff. Independence Day is a holiday to think about freedom and to remember the Declaration of Independence. II. Writing III. Speaking Here is my main rule: on my day off, I never get angry, stressed, or annoyed no matter what. I deal with enough of these emotions during the week. I try to be 100 % happy and positive. I also try to spend this day somewhere outdoors. My day off is the perfect opportunity to get some fresh air outside and do some outdoor activities. For example, taking a 20-30 min walk in a park can make a huge difference, not only on how I feel that very day, but it will help me even as I go through my everyday grind. Being in nature is very good therapy to release all kinds of stress and anxiety. Personally, I make it a point to go biking on my days off, it's not only great exercise, but I get to breathe better air than if I were indoors, and it makes my day off even more unique and interesting. When I am studying during a week, I am often going at rapid speed, and I think that it's the same for most people. That is why I make it a point that I do not do things at such speed on my day off. I take my time, as I do not want my day off to seem like it went by too fast. I try to be calm, relaxed, and just appreciate every minute of it. When I stay at home alone I listen to music or read a book. As I am busy with my studying during the week, I rarely have the time to spend it with people I love. This is why I often spend my day off doing activities with my friends, the people that mean a lot in my life. We play games, go picnicking, watch a film at the cinema or just wander around the city admiring the local architecture. To sum up, my perfect day is the day when I am not in a hurry, do what I like and meet the people I like.
