Stories and Topics

Let's set the limits of the story. Keep it fairly short. Make it a story of a manageable size.

Spice the text up with some expressions. You've done a good job telling the story. It's a fun story (dialogue).

These topics are most likely to come up in the exam. This topic gives you plenty to talk about. It can generate a lot of discussion. Number one topic in the discussion

Are you comfortable / happy with this topic? This is a sore/ sensitive subject - causing embarrassment and irritation. This is a hard issue. I wouldn't go there. What's the topic under discussion? Approach the topic from different angles. Give your thoughts out.

Since the question of.. . has come up, I will answer it. You bring up a perfect example. Today I intend to bring up the topic of... Let's stay on the issue. To run out of topics/ ideas To cover a topic - discuss it in class

Writing

Write essays on the subject of your choice.

Do some planning before you write. Prepare an outline for an essay.

Organize your ideas.

Take a blank piece of paper and list your ideas about the topic.

Put your ideas in order. (all down on paper)

Make a written sketch or outline of your ideas.

Start out writing.

(Skip the planning step and move directly to writing).

Look at what you have written.

Do revising - looking at the content

Do final editing (self-editing) - finding errors

Tell me when you are done/ finished.

I want your exercise-books.

Turn in your exercise-books/ papers.

Students hand in/ turn in the final drafts to the teacher.

The teacher marks the papers and gives her/his feedback on the papers.
