GOING BACK TO SCHOOL AFTER LOCKDOWN

In September, children in the UK return to school. Students in secondary schools (aged 11 to 18) will have to obey certain rules to make sure they keep safe. Here are some of the Do’s and Don’ts they will have to follow. Write the correct number in the box.

1. Stay within your bubble. A bubble is a group. It may be a class, or it may be a whole year group. Do not move out of your group.

2. Come into school through the designated entrance. Each class or year group will have their own entrance and exit; make sure you keep to it.

3. In class, face the front. Turning round and having face-to-face contact increases the risk of the virus spreading.

4. In the corridor, do not stop to chat. You must keep moving to your destination.

5. Do not loiter or chat with friends in the toilets. Go straight there and straight back.

6. If you feel unwell, if you lose your sense of taste and smell, you must stay at home. If anyone in your family tests positive for Covid-19, or has Covid-19 symptoms, you must stay at home. Tell your teacher/inform the school.

7. Wash your hands frequently. Hygiene plays an important part in stopping the virus.

8. ‘Catch it, bin it, kill it’. If you sneeze, cover your mouth and nose. If you have no tissue to hand, sneeze into your elbow. Dispose of used tissues quickly and safely.

9. Do not touch your teacher or your friends. Keep a distance of at least one metre wherever possible. Follow social distancing rules if possible.

10. If you are asked to wear a mask or a face covering, do so. Make sure your mask is clean.
