1. Lectures
Quiz on history includes questions on kings and queens, PMs, presidents, major historic events (dates, places, reasons, consequences), terms and terminology connected with the history of English-speaking countries.
Quiz on systems includes questions on three branches of powers in English-speaking countries (Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches) in terms of persons, main documents, rulings, as well as vocabulary connected with these branches.
Quiz on culture includes questions on writers, composers, artists and their works, symbolism and contribution to the society as well as lexis connected with these spheres.

* If you have attended all seminars, you’re awarded 10 points; otherwise, you are awarded 1 point for 1 seminar that you have attended (no matter the reason of absence).
Parliamentary debates. You are assessed against the following criteria: a) the depth of your preparation for the role given; b) the level of involvement in the process; c) the knowledge of your political platform and ability to argue it to the favourable outcome; d) the knowledge of ins and outs of the procedure.
Supreme Court case. As above.
Literature/Music/Fine Arts presentation. It is done in groups of 2-4 people and assessed jointly based on the following criteria: a) the depth of investigation into the topic; b) the ability to argue the importance of a chosen person/band/event to the cultural essence of (an) English-speaking country(ies) or the world; c) the knowledge of specific vocabulary used to describe your chosen area.
3. Test
To pass the course you need to write a test based on all material covered during the course. Timing – 60 mins.
