The founding constitution of the World Health Organization came into force on 7 April 1948. For this reason, April 7 and the following week are celebrated as World Health Day and Week.

The World Health Organization, headquartered in Switzerland-Geneva, is directing and coordinating international health with more than 7,000 employees, six major regional offices and 150 country offices within the United Nations system with the help of 194 member States.

With the principle that people should benefit from the highest health standards; contributing to the improvement of all health elements such as Infectious diseases, maternal-child health, data collection and analysis, cooperation with health administrations and professional organizations, cooperation with states and governments in all kinds of health care, health care workers, working conditions, environmental health, supporting research in the field of health, providing information and informing the public is their main goal.

In 2019, The World Health Organization set out its health week theme as “Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere” and set out with the slogan "Health for All".

Has WHO predicted the Coronovirus Covid-19 pandemic which has affected all the countries of the world, regardless of race, religion, politics, economic or social situation, after just one year?

Our world, where the number of Covid-19 patients exceeded 1.7 million, 103 thousand people lost their lives and life has almost came to a standstill, is fighting against epidemic once again as it has been many times before.

However, those who play the most important role in this war is all health workers from different mission areas of duty who are at very high risk, putting their lives on the line, working for long hours, serving altruistically with their all strengths...
