The Holy Koran 9 страница7. Those who disbelieve will suffer a harsh punishment, yet those who believe and do righteous deeds will have forgiveness and a great reward. 14. 8. What of him whose evil deed was made attractive to him, and so he regards it as good?
15. God leads astray whomever He wills, and He guides whomever He wills. 16. Therefore, do not waste yourself sorrowing over them. 17. God knows exactly what they do. 18. 9. God is He who sends the winds, that agitate clouds, that We drive to a dead land, and thereby revive the ground after it had died. Likewise is the Resurrection.
19. 10. Whoever desires honor—all honor belongs to God. 20. To Him ascends speech that is pure, and He elevates righteous conduct. 21. As for those who plot evil, a terrible punishment awaits them, and the planning of these will fail. 22. 11. God created you from dust, then from a small drop; then He made you pairs. 23. No female conceives or delivers, except with His knowledge. 24. No living thing advances in years, or its life is shortened, except it be in a Record. 25. That is surely easy for God.
26. 12. The two seas are not the same. 27. One is fresh water, sweet, good to drink, while the other is salty and bitter water. 28. Yet from each you eat tender meat, and extract jewelry that you wear. 29. And you see the ships plowing through them, so that you may seek of His bounty, so that you may give thanks.
30. 13. He merges the night into the day, and He merges the day into the night; and He regulates the sun and the moon, each running for a stated term.
31. Such is God, your Lord; His is the sovereignty. 32. As for those you call upon besides Him, they do not possess a speck.
33. 14. If you pray to them, they cannot hear your prayer. And even if they heard, they would not answer you. 34. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will reject your partnership. 35. None informs you like an Expert.
The Starters CHAPTER TWO Divisions 36-75 THE STARTERS 35: 15 - 35: 37 36. 15. O people! It is you who are the poor, in need of God; while God is the Rich, the Praiseworthy. 37. 16. If He wills, He can do away with you, and produce a new creation. 38. 17. And that would not be difficult for God.
39. 18. No burdened soul can carry the burden of another. 40. Even if one weighted down calls for help with its burden, nothing can be lifted from it, even if they were related.
41. You are to warn those who fear their Lord inwardly, and perform the prayer. 42. He who purifies himself purifies himself for his own good. 43. To God is the ultimate return.
44. 19. Not equal are the blind and the seeing. 45. 20. Nor are the darkness and the light. 46. 21. Nor are the shade and the torrid heat. 47. 22. Nor are equal the living and the dead. 48. God causes whomever He wills to hear, yet you cannot make those in the graves hear.
49. 23. You are only a warner. 50. 24. We sent you with the truth; a bearer of good news, and a warner. 51. There is no community except a warner has passed through it.
52. 25. If they disbelieve you, those before them also disbelieved. 53. Their messengers came to them with the clear proofs, with the Psalms, and with the Enlightening Scripture. 54. 26. Then I seized those who disbelieved —so how was My rejection?
55. 27. Have you not seen that God sends down water from the sky? 56. With it We produce fruits of various colors. 57. And in the mountains are streaks of white and red—varying in their hue—and pitch-black. 58. 28. Likewise, human beings, animals, and livestock come in various colors. From among His servants, the learned fear God.
God is Almighty, Oft-Forgiving
59. 29. Those who recite the Book of God, and perform the prayer, and spend of what We have provided for them, secretly and publicly, they expect a trade that will not fail. 60. 30. He will pay them their dues in full, and will increase them from His bounty. 61. He is Forgiving and Appreciative.
62. 31. What We inspired in you, of the Book, is the truth, confirming what preceded it.
God is Well-Informed of His servants, All-Seeing.
63. 32. Then We passed the Book to those of Our servants whom We chose. 64. Some of them wrong their souls, and some follow a middle course, and some are in the foremost in good deeds by God’s leave; that is the greatest blessing. 65. 33. The Gardens of Eden, that they will enter. 66. They will be adorned therein with gold bracelets and pearls, and their garments therein will be of silk. 67. 34. And they will say, “Praise God, who has lifted all sorrow from us. 68. Our Lord is Most Forgiving, Most Appreciative. 69. 35. He Who settled us in the Home of Permanence, by His grace, where boredom will not touch us, and fatigue will not afflict us. ”
70. 36. As for those who disbelieve, for them is the Fire of Hell, wherein they will never be finished off and die, nor will its punishment be lightened for them. 71. Thus We will repay every ingrate. 72. 37. And they will scream therein, “Our Lord, let us out, and we will act righteously, differently from the way we used to act. ”
73. Did We not give you a life long enough, in which anyone who wanted to understand would have understood? 74. And the warner did come to you. So taste. the punishment 75. The evildoers will have no helper.
The Starters CHAPTER THREE Divisions 76-100
THE STARTERS 35: 38 - 35: 45 76. 38. God is the Knower of the future of the heavens and the earth. 77. He knows what the hearts contain. 78. 39. It is He who made you successors on earth.
80. Whoever disbelieves, his disbelief will recoil upon him. 81. The disbelief of the disbelievers adds only to their Lord's disfavor of them. 82. The disbelief of the disbelievers adds only to their perdition.
83. 40. Say to them, “Have you considered those partners of yours that you worship instead of God? 84. Show me what they have created on earth. Or whether do they have any share in the heavens? ”
85. Or have We given them a book whose clear teachings they follow? 86. In fact, the wrongdoers promise one another nothing except delusions.
87. 41. God holds the heavens and the earth, lest they fall apart. And were they to fall apart, there is none to hold them together except He.
He is Most Clement, Most Forgiving.
88. 42. And they swore by God with their solemn oaths, that if a warner came to them, they would be more guided than any other people. 89. Yet when a warner came to them, it only increased them in aversion. 90. 43. Priding themselves on earth, and scheming evil. 91. Yet evil scheming overwhelms none except its authors. 92. Do they expect anything except the precedent of the ancients? 93. You will not find any change in God’s practice, and you will not find any substitute to God’s practice.
94. 44. Have they not journeyed in the land and observed the fate of those who preceded them? 95. They were superior to them in strength. 96. Yet nothing can defeat God in the heavens or on Earth. 97. He is indeed Omniscient and Omnipotent.
98. 45. If God were to punish the people for what they have earned, He would not leave a single living creature on its surface. 99. Yet He defers them until a stated time. 100. Then, when their time has arrived —God is Observant of His creatures.
Ya Seen (I. S. ) CHAPTER ONE Divisions 1-30 YA SEEN 36: 1 - 36: 29 1. 1. Ya, Seen.
2. By the Wise Quran. 3. You are one of the messengers. 4. On a straight path.
2. 5. The revelation of the Almighty, the Merciful. 6. To warn a people whose ancestors were not warned, and so they are unaware. 3. 7. The Word was realized against most of them, for they do not believe. 4. 8. We placed shackles around their necks, up to their chins, so they are stiff-necked. 9. And We placed a barrier in front of them, and a barrier behind them, and We have enshrouded them, so they cannot see. 6. 10. It is the same for them, whether you warn them, or do not warn them —they will not believe. 7. 11. You warn only him who follows the Message, and fears the Most Gracious inwardly. So give him good news of forgiveness, and a generous reward.
8. 12. It is We who revive the dead; and We write down what they have forwarded, and their traces. 9. We have tallied all things in a clear record.
10. 13. And cite for them the parable of the landlords of the town —when the messengers came to it. 11. 14. We sent them two messengers, yet they denied them both, so We reinforced them with a third. 12. They said to them, “We are messengers to you. ” 13. 15. They said in return, “You are nothing except humans like us, and the Gracious did not send down anything; you are only lying. ”
14. 16. They said to them, “Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you. 17. And our only duty is clear communication. ” 15. 18. They said in return, “We see an evil omen in you; 16. if you do not give up, we will stone you, and a painful punishment from us will befall you. ”
17. 19. They said to them, “Your evil omen is upon you. 18. Is it because you were reminded?
Yet you are an [extravagant] [disbelieving] people. ”
19. 20. Then a man came running from the remotest part of the city. 20. He said, “O my people, follow the messengers. 21. 21. Follow those who ask you of no wage, and are themselves guided.
22. 22. “And why should I not worship Him Who created me, and to Whom you will be returned? 23. 23. Shall I take other gods instead of Him? 24. If the Merciful desires harm for me, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor will they save me. 25. 24. In that case, I would be completely lost. 26. 25. I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me. ”
27. 26. It was said to him (by the messengers), “Enter Paradise. ” 28. He said, “If only my people knew. 27. How my Lord has forgiven me, and made me one of the honored. ”
29. 28. After him, We sent down no hosts from heaven to his people; nor would We ever send any down. 30. 29. It was just one cry, and they were stilled.
Ya Seen (I. S. ) CHAPTER TWO Divisions 31-70 YA SEEN 36: 30 - 36: 59 31. 30. Alas for the servants. 32. No messenger ever came to them, yet they ridiculed him. 33. 31. Have they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them; and that unto them they will not return? 34. 32. All of them, every single one of them, will be arraigned before Us.
35. 33. And there is a sign for them in the dead land: 36. We give it life, and produce from it grains that they eat from. 37. 34. And We place in it gardens of palm-trees and vines, and cause springs to gush out of it. 38. 35. That they may eat from its fruits, although their hands did not make it. 39. Will they not be appreciative?
40. 36. Glory be to Him who created all the pairs; of what the earth produces, and of their own selves, and of what they do not know.
41. 37. Another sign for them is the night: 42. We strip the day out of it—and they are in darkness.
43. 38. And the sun runs towards its destination. 44. Such is the design of the Almighty, the All-Knowing.
45. 39. And the moon: 46. We have disposed it in phases, until it returns like the old twig.
47. 40. The sun is not to overtake the moon, nor is the night to outpace the day. 48. Each floats in an orbit.
49. 41. Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 50. 42. And We created for them the like of it, wherein they ride. 51. 43. If We will, We can drown them —with no screaming to be heard from them, nor will they be saved. 52. 44. Except by a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while.
53. 45. Except when it is said to them, “Beware of what lies before you, and what lies behind you, that you may receive mercy. ” 54. 46. Yet never came to them a sign of their Lord’s signs, except they turned away from it.
55. 47. And when it is said to them, “Spend of what God has provided for you, ” those who disbelieve say to those who believe, 56. “Shall we feed someone whom God could feed, if He so willed? 57. You must be deeply misguided. ”
58. 48. And they say, “When will this promise be, if you are truthful? ” 59. 49. All they can expect is a single blast, that will seize them while they feud. 60. 50. They will not be able to make a will, nor will they return to their families. 61. 51. The Trumpet will be blown, then behold, they will rush from the tombs (of their demise) to their Lord (in Heaven).
62. 52. They will say, “Woe to us! Who resurrected us from our resting-place? ” 63. This is what the Most Gracious had promised, and the messengers have spoken the truth. ”
64. 53. It will be merely a single scream; and behold, they will all be brought before Us. 65. 54. On that Day, no soul will be wronged in the least, and you will be recompensed only for what you used to do.
66. 55. The inhabitants of Paradise, on that Day, will be happily busy. 67. 56. They and their spouses, in shades, reclining on couches. 68. 57. They will have therein fruits. 69. They will have whatever they call for.
70. 58. Peace—a saying from a Most Merciful Lord. 59. Yet step aside today, you criminals.
Ya Seen (I. S. ) CHAPTER THREE Divisions 71-100
YA SEEN 36: 60 - 36: 83 71. 60. Did I not covenant with you, O Children of Adam, that you shall not serve the devil? 72. That he is your sworn enemy? 61. And that you shall serve Me? 73. This is a straight path. 74. 62. He has misled a great multitude of you. 75. Did you not understand? 63. This is Hellfire, that you were promised. 76. 64. Roast in it today, because you persistently disbelieved. 77. 65. On this Day, We will seal their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify to everything they had done. 78. 66. If We will, We can blind their eyes as they rush towards the path —yet how will they see? 79. 67. And if We will, We can cripple them in their place; so they can neither move forward, nor go back.
80. 68. Whomever We grant old age, We reverse his development. 81. Do they not understand? 82. 69. We did not teach him poetry, nor is it proper for him. 83. It is only a reminder, and a clear Quran. 70. That he may warn whoever is alive, and prove the Word against the faithless.
84. 71. Have they not seen that We created for them, of Our Handiwork, livestock that they own? 85. 72. And We subdued them for them. Some they ride, and some they eat.
86. 73. And they have in them other benefits, and drinks. 87. Will they not give thanks? 88. 74. Yet they have taken to themselves gods other than God, that perhaps they may be helped. 89. 75. They cannot help them, although they are arrayed as troops for them.
90. 76. So let their words not sadden you. 91. We know what they conceal, and what they reveal.
92. 77. Does the human being not consider that We created him from a seed? 93. Yet he becomes a fierce adversary. 78. And he produces arguments against Us, and he forgets his own creation. 94. He says, “Who will revive the bones when they have decayed? ”
95. 79. Say to them, “He who initiated them in the first instance will revive them. 96. He has knowledge of every creation. ”
97. 80. He who produced fuel for you from the green trees, that you kindle a fire with. 81. Is not He who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like of them? 98. Certainly. He is the Supreme All-Knowing Creator. 99. 82. His command, when He wills a thing, is to say to it, “Be, ” and it comes to be. 100. 83. So glory be to Him in whose hand is the dominion of everything, and to Him you will be returned.
The Ranks (of Troops) CHAPTER ONE Divisions 1-30
THE RANKS 37: 1 - 37: 34 1. 1. By the aligners aligning. 2. And the drivers driving. 3. And the reciters of the Reminder.
2. 4. Your God is indeed One. 5. Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them; and Lord of the Easts. 3. 6. We have adorned the lower heaven with the beauty of the planets. 7. And guarded it against every defiant devil. 4. 8. They cannot eavesdrop on the Supernal Elite, for they get bombarded from every side. 5. 9. Repelled—they will have a lingering torment. 10. Except for him who snatches a fragment—he gets pursued by a piercing projectile.
6. 11. Inquire of them, “Are they more difficult to create, or the others We created? ” 7. We created them from sticky clay.
8. 12. Yet you wonder, and they ridicule. 13. And when reminded, they pay no attention. 9. 14. And when they see a sign, they ridicule. 15. And they say, “This is nothing except plain magic.
10. 16. When we have died and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected? 17. And our ancestors of old also? ” 11. 18. Say to them, “Yes indeed, and you will be totally subdued. ” 12. 19. It will be a single nudge, and they will be staring.
13. 20. They will say, “Woe to us. This is the Day of Judgment. ” 14. 21. It shall be said to them, “This is the Day of Separation that you used to deny.
15. 22. Gather those who did wrong, and their mates, and what they used to worship. 23. Besides God, and lead them to the way to Hell. 16. 24. And stop them. They are to be questioned. ” 17. 25. What is the matter with you? 18. Why do you not help one another?
19. 26. In fact, on that Day, they will be submissive. 20. 27. They will come to one another, questioning one another. 21. 28. They will say, “You used to come at us from the right. ” 22. 29. They will say, “You yourselves were not believers. 23. 30. We had no authority over you. 24. You yourselves were rebellious people.
25. 31. The Word of our Lord has been realized against us. 26. We are tasting it. 27. 32. We seduced you. 28. We were seducers. ”
29. 33. On that Day, they will share in the punishment. 30. 34. Thus We deal with the sinners.
The Ranks (of Troops) CHAPTER TWO Divisions 31-60
THE RANKS 37: 35 - 37: 78 31. 35. When it was said to them, “There is no god except God, ” they grew arrogant. 32. 36. And they said, “Are we to abandon our gods for a mad poet? ” 33. 37. In fact, he came with the truth, and he confirmed the messengers. 34. 38. Most assuredly, you will [taste] [know] the painful punishment. 35. 39. And you will be repaid only for what you used to do. 40. Except for God’s sincere servants. 36. 41. For them is a known provision. 42. Fruits; and they will be honored. 43. In the Gardens of Bliss. 44. On furnishings, facing one another. 37. 45. They will be offered a cup of pure drink. 46. White; a delight to those who drink. 47. Never polluted, and never intoxicating. 38. 48. With them will be bashful women with lovely eyes. 49. As if they were closely guarded pearls.
39. 50. Then they will approach one another, questioning. 40. 51. One of them will say, “I used to have a friend. 52. Who used to say, 41. “Are you of those who believe? 53. That after we die and become dust and bones, we will be called to account? ”
42. 54. He will say (to God or his angels), “Will you have a look? ” 43. 55. He will look, and will see him in the pit of Hell. 44. 56. He will say, “By God, you almost ruined me. 45. 57. Were it not for the grace of my Lord, I would have been among the arraigned. ” 46. 58. “We will not die. 59. Except for our first death, and we will not be punished. ” 47. 60. This is the supreme triumph. 61. For the like of this let the workers work.
48. 62. Is this a better hospitality, or the Tree of Bitterness? 49. 63. We made it an ordeal for the unjust. 50. 64. It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell. 51. 65. Its fruits are like the devils’ heads. 52. 66. They will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 53. 67. Then, on top of it, they will have a brew of boiling liquid. 54. 68. Then their return will be to the blaze.
55. 69. They had found their parents astray. 70. And rushed along in their footsteps. 56. 71. And most of the ancients before them went astray. 72. Even though We sent messengers to warn them. 57. 73. So observe the end of those who were warned. 74. Except for the sincere servants of God.
58. 75. And Noah called out to Us, and We are the Best of responders. 59. 76. And We saved him and his family from the great calamity. 77. And We made his descendants the survivors. 60. 78. And We left mention of him among those who succeeded.
The Ranks (of Troops) CHAPTER THREE Divisions 61-90
THE RANKS 37: 79 - 37: 108 61. 79. Peace be upon Noah among all people. 62. 80. We thus reward the righteous. 63. 81. He was one of Our believing servants. 64. 82. Then We drowned the others.
65. 83. Of his kind was Abraham. 66. 84. When he came to his Lord with a sound heart.
67. 85. He said to his father and his people, “What are you worshiping? 68. 86. Is it falsified gods, instead of God, that you want? 69. 87. So what is your opinion about the Lord of the Worlds? ”
70. 88. Then he took a glance at the stars. 89. And said, “I am sick. ” (reflecting on the problems in Ur) 71. 90. Yet they turned their backs on him, and went away.
72. 91. Then he turned to their gods, and said, “will you not eat? 73. 92. What is it with you, that you do not speak? ” 74. 93. Then he turned on them, striking the idols with his right hand. 75. 94. And they (his father and his people) ran towards him.
76. 95. He said to them, “Do you worship what you carve, 96. when it was God that created you? and what you manufacture? ”
77. 97. They said, “Build a pyre for him, and throw him into the furnace. ” 78. 98. They wished him ill, yet We made them the losers. 79. 99. He said, “I am going towards my Lord, and He will guide me. ” 80. 100. “My Lord, give me one of the righteous. ”
81. 101. So We gave him good news of a clement boy. 82. 102. Then, when he was old enough to accompany him, he said, “O My son, I see in a dream that I am sacrificing you; see what you think. ” 83. He said, “O my Father, do as you are commanded; 84. you will find me, God willing, one of the steadfast. ” 85. 103. Then, when they had submitted, and he put his forehead down. 86. 104. We called out to him, “O Abraham!
