Book 2: chapters 21-65 38 страница

30.

This is the Day that they were promised.

[the Prophet] Noah                                                                                              CHAPTER ONE

Divisions 1-30

NOAH 71: 1 - 71: 28

1.

1. We sent Noah to his people:

“Warn your people before there comes upon them a [painful] [terrible] punishment. ”

2.

2. He said, “O my people, I am to you a clear warner.

3.

3. Worship God and reverence Him, and obey me.

4.

4. And He will forgive you of your sins, and reprieve you until a stated term.

5.

God’s term cannot be deferred once it has arrived, if you only knew. ”

6.

5. He said, “My Lord, I have called my people night and day,

6. yet my call added only to their flight.

7.

7. Whenever I called them to Your forgiveness,

they thrust their fingers into their ears, and wrapped themselves in their garments,

and insisted, and became more and more arrogant.

8.

8. Then I called them openly.

9.

9. Then I appealed to them publicly,

and I spoke to them privately.

10.

10. I said, ‘Ask your Lord for forgiveness;

He is Forgiving.

11.

11. He will let loose the sky upon you in torrents.

12.

12. And provide you with wealth and children,

and allot for you gardens, and allot for you rivers.

13.

13. What is the matter with you, that you do not appreciate God’s greatness?

14. Although He created you in stages.

14.

15. Do you not realize that God created seven heavens in layers?

15.

16. And He set the moon in their midst for light, and He made the sun a lamp.

16.

17. And God germinated you from the earth like plants.

17.

18. Then He will return you into it, and will bring you out again.

18.

19. And God made the earth a spread for you,

20. that you may travel its diverse roads. ’”

19.

21. Noah said, “My Lord, they have defied me,

and followed him whose wealth and children increase him only in perdition. ”

20.

22. And they schemed outrageous schemes.

21.

23. And they said, “Do not give up your gods;

22.

do not give up Wadd, or Souwa,

or Yaghoos, and Yaooq, and Nassr.

23.

24. They have misled many, so do not increase the wrongdoers except in confusion. ”

24.

25. Because of their wrongs, they were drowned, and were hurled into a Fire.

25.

They did not find apart from God any helpers.

26.

26. Noah said, “My Lord, do not leave of the unbelievers a single dweller on earth.

27.

27. If You leave them, they will mislead your servants,

and will breed only wicked unbelievers.

28.

28. My Lord! Forgive me and my parents,

and anyone who enters my home in faith,

29.

and all the believing men and believing women;

30.

and do not increase the wrongdoers except in perdition. ”

the Genies                                                                                                             CHAPTER ONE

Divisions 1-30

 THE GENIES 72: 1 - 72: 28

1.

1. Say to them, “It was revealed to me that a band of jinn listened in, and said,

‘We have heard a wondrous Quran.

2.

2. It guides to rectitude, so we have believed in it;

and we will never associate anyone with our Lord.

3.

3. And Exalted is the Grandeur of our Lord

—He never had a mate, nor a child.

4.

4. Yet the fools among us used to say nonsense about God.

5.

5. And we thought that humans and jinn would never utter lies about God.

6.

6. Some individual humans used to seek power through some individual jinn,

yet they only increased them in confusion.

7.

7. They thought, as you thought, that God would never resurrect anyone.

8.

8. We probed the heaven, and found it filled with stern guards and projectiles.

9.

9. We used to take up positions to listen in;

yet whoever listens now finds a projectile in wait for him.

10.

10. We do not know whether ill is intended for those on earth,

or if their Lord intends goodness for them.

11.

11. Some of us are righteous, yet some of us are less than that;

we follow divergent paths.

12.

12. We realized that we cannot defeat God on earth,

and that we cannot escape Him by fleeing.

13.

13. And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it.

14.

Whoever believes in his Lord fears neither loss, nor burden.

15.

14. Among us are those who are submitting,

and among us are the compromisers.

16.

As for those who have submitted—it is they who pursue rectitude.

17.

15. Yet as for the compromisers—they will be firewood for Hell. ’”

18.

16. Had they kept true to the Path,

We would have given them plenty water to drink.

17.

17. To test them with it,

whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord,

He will direct him to torment ever mounting.

19.

18. The places of worship are for God.

20.

So do not call, besides God, upon anyone else.

21.

19. And when the servant of God got up calling on Him,

they almost fell on him in a mass.

22.

20. Say to them, “I pray only to my Lord,

and I never associate anyone with Him. ”

23.

21. Say to them, “It is not in my power to harm you,

nor to bring you to right conduct. ”

24.

22. Say to them, “No one can protect me from God,

and I will not find any refuge except with Him,

23. except for a proclamation from God and His messages.

25.

He who defies God and His Messenger

—for him is the Fire of Hell, in which they will dwell forever. ”

26.

24. Until, when they see what they were promised,

they will know who is weaker in helpers, and fewer in numbers.

27.

25. Say to them, “I do not know whether what you are promised is near,

or whether my Lord will extend it for a period. ”

28.

26. The Knower of the Invisible;

He does not disclose His Invisible to anyone,

27. except to a Messenger of His choosing.

29.

He then dispatches guards before him and behind him.

30.

28. That He may know that they have conveyed the messages of their Lord,

He encompasses what they have, and has tallied everything by number.

the One Enshrouded                                                                                             CHAPTER ONE

Divisions 1-25

[the Cloaked Ninja]

 THE ONE ENSHROUDED 73: 1 - 73: 20

1.

1. O you Enwrapped one.

2. Stay up the night, except for a little.

2.

3. For half of it, or reduce it a little.

4. Or add to it;

and chant the Quran rhythmically.

3.

5. We are about to give you a heavy message.

4.

6. The vigil of night is more effective, and better suited for recitation.

5.

7. In the daytime, you have lengthy work to do.

6.

8. So remember the Name of your Lord, and devote yourself to Him wholeheartedly.

7.

9. Lord of the East and the West.

There is no god except He, so take Him as a Trustee.

8.

10. And endure patiently what they say,

and withdraw from them politely.

9.

11. And leave Me to those who deny the truth, those of luxury,

and give them a brief respite.

10.

12. With Us are shackles, and a Fierce Fire.

13. And food that chokes, and a painful punishment,

11.

14. on the Day when the earth and the mountains tremble,

and the mountains become heaps of sand.

12.

15. We have sent to you a messenger, a witness over you,

as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger.

13.

16. Yet Pharaoh defied the Messenger, so We seized him with a terrible seizing.

14.

17. So how will you, if you persist in unbelief,

save yourself from a day that will turn the children gray-haired?

15.

18. The heaven will shatter thereby.

16.

His promise is always fulfilled.

17.

19. This is a reminder.

So whoever wills, let him take a path to his Lord.

18.

20. Your Lord knows that you stay up nearly two-thirds of the night,

or half of it, or one-third of it,

along with a group of those with you.

19.

God designed the night and the day.

20.

He knows that you are unable to sustain it, so He has pardoned you.

21.

So read of the Quran what is possible for you.

22.

He knows that some of you may be ill;

and others travelling through the land, seeking God’s bounty;

and others fighting in God’s cause.

23.

So read of it what is possible for you, and observe the prayers,

and give regular charity, and lend God a generous loan.

24.

Whatever good you advance for yourselves,

you will find it with God, better and generously rewarded.

25.

And seek God’s forgiveness,

for God is Forgiving and Merciful.

the One Enrobed                                                                                                      CHAPTER ONE

Divisions 1-40

 THE ONE ENROBED 74: 1 - 74: 56

1.

1. O you Enrobed one.

2.

2. Arise and warn.

3. And magnify your Lord.

3.

4. And purify your clothes.

5. And abandon abominations.

4.

6. And show no favor seeking gain.

7. And be constant for your Lord.

5.

8. When the Trumpet is blown

9. that Day will be a difficult day

10. for the disbelievers—not easy.

6.

11. Leave Me to him whom I created alone,

12. And gave him vast wealth

13. And children as witnesses

14. And smoothed things for him.

7.

15. Then he wants Me to add yet more!

16. By no means!

8.

He was stubborn towards Our revelations.

9.

17. I will exhaust him increasingly.

10.

18. He thought and analyzed.

19. May he perish, how he analyzed.

11.

20. Again: may he perish, how he analyzed.

12.

21. Then he looked.

22. Then he frowned and whined.

13.

23. Then he turned back and was proud.

14.

24. And said,

“This is nothing except magic from the past.

15.

25. This is nothing except the word of a mortal. ”

16.

26. I will roast him in Saqar.

17.

27. Yet what will explain to you what Saqar is?

18.

28. It neither leaves, nor spares.

29. It scorches the flesh.

19.

30. Over it are Nineteen. [angels]

20.

31. We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire,

and caused their number to be a stumbling block for those who disbelieve;

21.

so that those given the Scripture may attain certainty;

and those who believe may increase in faith;

and those given the Scripture and the believers may not doubt;

22.

and those in whose hearts is sickness

and the unbelievers may say, “What did God intend by this parable? ”

23.

Thus God leads astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills.

24.

Nobody knows the soldiers of your Lord except He.

25.

This is nothing except a reminder for the mortals.

26.

32. Nay! By the moon.

33. And the night as it retreats.

34. And the morning as it lights up.

35. It is one of the greatest.

27.

36. A warning to the mortals.

37. To whomever among you wishes to advance, or regress.

28.

38. Every soul is hostage to what it has earned.

29.

39. Except for those on the Right

40. in gardens, inquiring

41. About the guilty,

42. “What drove you into Saqar? ”

30.

43. They will say, “We were not of those who prayed.

44. Nor did we feed the destitute.

45. And we used to indulge with those who indulge.

31.

46. And we used to deny the Day of Judgment,

47. until the Inevitable (punishment) came upon us. ”

32.

48. Yet the intercession of intercessors will not help them.

33.

49. Why are they turning away from the Reminder?

50. As though they were panicked donkeys,

51. Fleeing from a lion?

34.

52. Yet every one of them desires to be given scrolls unrolled.

35.

53. No indeed!

36.

Yet they do not fear the Hereafter.

37.

54. Nevertheless, it is a reminder.

38.

55. So whoever wills, shall remember it.

39.

56. Yet they will not remember, unless God wills.

40.

He is the Source of Righteousness, and the Source of Forgiveness.

the Day of Resurrection                                                                                       CHAPTER ONE

Divisions 1-30

 THE DAY OF RESURRECTION 75: 1 - 75: 40

1.

1. I swear by the Day of Resurrection.

2.

2. And I swear by the blaming soul.

3.

3. Does man think that We will not reassemble his bones?

4.

4. Yes indeed; We are Able to reconstruct his fingertips.

5.

5. Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him.

6.

6. He asks, “When is the Day of Resurrection? ”

7.

7. When vision is dazzled

8. And the moon is eclipsed

9. And the sun and the moon are joined together,

10. on that Day, man will say, “Where is the escape? ”

8.

11. No indeed! There is no refuge.

9.

12. To your Lord on that Day is the settlement.

10.

13. On that Day man will be informed of everything he put forward,

and everything he left behind.

11.

14. And man will be evidence against himself,

15. even as he presents his excuses.

12.

16. Do not wag your tongue with it,

to hurry on with it.

13.

17. Upon Us is its collection and its recitation.

14.

18. Then, when We have recited it,

follow its recitation.

15.

19. Then upon Us is its explanation.

16.

20. Alas, you love the fleeting life,

21. and you disregard the Hereafter.

17.

22. Faces on that Day will be radiant.

23. Looking towards their Lord.

18.

24. And faces on that Day will be gloomy,

25. Realizing that a back-breaker has befallen them.

19.

26. Indeed, when it has reached the breast-bones,

27. And it is said, “Who is the healer? ”

20.

28. And He realizes that it is the parting (of the flesh),

29. And leg is entwined with leg.

21.

30. To your Lord God on that Day is the drive. (of the cattle herds)

22.

31. He that neither believed nor prayed.

32. yet he denied and turned away.

23.

33. Then he went to his family, full of pride.

24.

34. Woe to you; and woe.

25.

35. Then again: Woe to you; and woe.

26.

36. Does man think that he will be left without purpose?

27.

37. Was he not a drop of ejaculated semen?

28.

38. Then he became a clot.

And He created and proportioned?

29.

39. And made of him the two sexes, the male and the female?

30.

40. Is He not able to revive the dead?

the Man                                                                                                                    CHAPTER ONE

Divisions 1-35

 THE MAN 76: 1 - 76: 31

1.

1. Has there come upon mankind a period of time when he was nothing to be mentioned?

2.

2. We created man from a liquid mixture, to test him;

and We made him hearing and seeing.

3.

3. We guided him to the way,

be he appreciative or unappreciative.

4.

4. We have prepared for the faithless chains, and yokes,

and a searing fire.

5.

5. Yet the righteous will drink from a cup whose mixture is aroma.

6.

6. A spring from where the servants of God will drink,

making it gush abundantly.

7.

7. They fulfill their vows, and dread a Day whose ill is widespread.

8.

8. And they feed, for the love of Him,

the poor, and the orphan, and the captive.

9.

9. saying “We only feed you for the sake of God.

10.

We want from you neither compensation, nor gratitude.

11.

10. We dread from our Lord a frowning grim Day. ”

12.

11. So God will protect them from the ills of that Day,

and will grant them radiance and joy.

13.

12. And will reward them for their patience with a Garden and silk.

14.

13. Reclining therein on the thrones;

experiencing therein neither sun, nor frost.

15.

14. Its shade hovering over them,

and its fruit brought low within reach.

16.

15. Passing around them are vessels of silver, and cups of crystal.

17.

16. Crystal of silver—they measured them exactly.

18.

17. They will be served therein with a cup whose flavor is Zanjabeel.

19.

18. A spring therein named Salsabeel.

20.

19. Passing among them are eternalized youths.

21.

If you see them, you would think them sprinkled pearls.

22.

20. Wherever you look, you see bliss, and a vast kingdom.

23.

21. Upon them all are garments of green silk and satin.

And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver.

24.

And their Lord will offer them a pure drink.

22. saying “This is a reward for you.

25.

Your efforts are well appreciated. ”

26.

23. It is We who sent down the Quran upon you—a gradual revelation.

27.

24. So be patient for the decision of your Lord,

and do not obey the sinner or the blasphemer among them.

28.

25. And mention the Name of your Lord, morning and evening.

29.

26. And for part of the night,

prostrate yourself to Him, and glorify Him long into the night.

30.

27. As for these:

they love the fleeting life, and leave behind a Heavy Day.

31.

28. We created them, and strengthened their frame;

and whenever We will, We can replace them with others like them.

32.

29. This is a reminder;

so whoever wills, let him take a path to his Lord.

33.

30. Yet you cannot [will] [enter], unless God wills.

God is Knowing and Wise.

34.

31. He admits into His mercy whomever He wills.

35.

Yet as for the wrongdoers, He has prepared for them a [painful] [shameful] punishment.

the Messengers Sent Forth                                                                                  CHAPTER ONE

Divisions 1-30

 THE MESSENGERS SENT FORTH 77: 1 - 77: 50

1.

1. By those unleashed in succession.

2. Storming turbulently.

3. Scattering far and wide.

2.

4. Separating decisively.

5. Delivering a message.

6. Excusing or warning.

7. Surely what you are promised will happen.

3.

8. When the stars are obliterated.

9. And the sky is fractured.

10. And the mountains are blown away.

11. And the messengers are alerted.

4.

12. Until which day is it deferred?

13. Until the Day of Decision.

5.

14. And what will teach you what the Day of Decision is?

6.

15. Woe on that Day to the liars.

7.

16. Did We not destroy the ancients?

17. Then succeeded them with the others?

8.

18. This is how We deal with the guilty.

9.

19. Woe on that Day to the rejecters.

10.

20. Did We not create you from an insignificant fluid?

21. Then lodged it in a secure place?

22. For a known term?

11.

23. We measured precisely.

We are the best to measure.

12.

24. Woe on that Day to the falsifiers.

13.

25. Did We not make the earth a homestead?

26. For the living and the dead?

27. And set on it lofty mountains, and given you pure water to drink?

14.

28. Woe on that Day to the deniers.

15.

29. “Proceed to what you used to deny. ” (to Hell)

30. “Proceed to a shadow of three different masses. ”

16.

31. Offering no shade, and unavailing against the flames.

32. It shoots sparks as castles.

33. As if they were yellow camels.

17.

34. Woe on that Day to the liars.

18.

35. This is a Day when they will not speak,

36. and they will not be allowed to apologize.

19.

37. Woe on that Day to the rejecters.

20.

38. This is the Day of Separation;

We have gathered you, together with the ancients,

39. so if you have a strategy, use it against Me.

21.

40. Woe on that Day to the falsifiers.

22.

41. The righteous will be amidst shades and fountains.

42. And fruits as they desire.

23.

43. It will be said to them, “Eat and drink pleasantly, for what you used to do. ”

24.

44. This is how We reward the doers of good.

25.

45. Woe on that Day to the deniers.

26.

46. It will be said to them, “Eat and enjoy yourselves a little;

you are indeed criminals. ”

27.

47. Woe on that Day to the liars.

28.

48. And when it is said to them, “Kneel”, they do not kneel.

29.

49. Woe on that Day to the rejecters.

30.

50. In what message, beyond this, will they believe?

the Announcement [of the Judgment Day]                                                         CHAPTER ONE

Divisions 1-25

 THE ANNOUNCEMENT 78: 1 - 78: 40

1.

1. What are they asking one another about?

2.

2. About the Great Event,

3. about which they disagree.

3.

4. Surely, they will find out,

5. most certainly, they will find out.

4.

6. Did We not make the earth a cradle?

7. And the mountains pegs?

5.

8. And created you in pairs?

9. And made your sleep for rest?

6.

10. And made the night a cover?

11. And made the day for livelihood?

7.

12. And built above you seven strong ones?

13. And placed a blazing lamp?

8.

14. And brought down from the clouds pouring water?

15. To produce with it grains and vegetation?

16. And luxuriant gardens?

9.

17. The Day of Sorting has been appointed.

10.

18. The Day when the Trumpet is blown,

and when you will come in droves.

11.

19. And when the sky is opened up, and becomes gateways.

20. And when the mountains are set in motion, and become a mirage.

12.

21. Hell is lying in ambush.

22. For the oppressors,

a destination.

23. Where they will remain for eons.

13.

24. They will taste therein neither coolness, nor drink.

25. Except boiling water, and freezing hail.

14.

26. A fitting requital,

27. for they were not anticipating any reckoning,

28. and they denied Our signs utterly.

15.

29. Yet We have enumerated everything in writing.

16.

30. So taste! We will increase you only in suffering.

17.

31. Yet for the righteous there is triumph.

32. Gardens and vineyards.

18.

33. And splendid spouses, well matched.

34. And delicious drinks.

19.

35. They will hear therein neither gossip, nor lies.

20.

36. A reward from your Lord, a fitting gift.

21.

37. The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them

—The Most Merciful—nobody can argue with Him.

22.

38. On the Day when the Spirit and the angels stand in row,

they will not speak, unless it be someone permitted by the Most Merciful,

and he will say what is right.

23.

39. That is the Day of Reality.

24.

So whoever wills, let him take a way back to his Lord.

25.

40. We have warned you of a near punishment

—the Day when a person will observe what his hands have produced,

and the faithless will say, “O, I wish I were dust. ”

Them Who Sieze                                                                                                   CHAPTER ONE

Divisions 1-30

 THEM WHO SIEZE 79: 1 - 79: 46

1.

1. By those who snatch violently

2. And those who remove gently

2.

3. And those who glide smoothly

4. And those who race swiftly

5. And those who regulate events,
