Annotation: The article tells about such a new ecological trend in tourism as a glamping hotel. The essence, history and modern prospects for the development of glamping in the tourist market are described.

Keywords: glamping, hotel, ecological tourism

The active development of various areas of eco-tourism around the world has led to the emergence of numerous options for travelers. How about a holiday close to nature? Does it immediately seem like a cramped tent, cold stew and no Internet?

For travelers who cannot imagine life without the benefits of civilization, they have come up with such a direction as glamping. No ascetic life - next to a soft bed, a warm shower, Wi-Fi. And right outside the door - nature: greenery, fresh air, birdsong, sunrises and sunsets.

The new-fangled direction of tourism was called " glamping", crossing two foreign words: glamorous + camping (in translation - glamorous camping). This type of recreation is chosen by those who are tired of the bustle of the city, who want to reboot in untouched nature, without losing the opportunity to maintain comfort and convenience. [6, 26 p. ]

Every year it becomes more and more relevant. An active and eco-friendly lifestyle is becoming fashionable, helping to develop glamping. The possibility of a short vacation away from the hustle and bustle of city life has replenished the consumer segment mainly with young people. And vivid reports on social networks about the new direction quickly increased the ranks of fans. This term appeared relatively recently, in 2006. Glamping in its final form originated in England. [4, 32 p. ] But if you delve into history, the idea is not new. Any self-respecting emperor, sultan, pasha, commander or king did not sit at home. Military campaigns, many-day hunting trips, meetings on neutral territory with the heads of neighboring states - all this made up a significant part of the life of the ruler. In those days, not just tent camps were built for them, but huge tents, luxuriously decorated and equipped with everything you need.

In the twenties of the last century, African safaris were very popular among Europeans and Americans, and even then rich foreigners did not want to sacrifice their comfort. Therefore, they made high demands on the design of their campground, where great importance was given to a sleeping bed, comfortable hygiene and delicious food with perfect service. [7, 15 p. ]

In European countries, glampings have become popular due to the growing demand for eco-tourism. One of the reasons for the popularity was the psychological factor: residents of megacities are increasingly striving for solitude and tranquility, but at the same time they want to maintain a high level of comfort on vacation. The development of civil aviation, the expansion of railways, the construction of roads and water channels, the re-equipment of water transport gave impetus to the expansion of the geography of such tourism. [8, 43 p. ]

Let's take a closer look at how glamping differs from other types of tourism. Glamping is an ecotourism destination and includes an organized and comfortable stay in the wild with elements of the " luxury" of a hotel: a double bed, furniture, kitchen utensils, shower and toilet, decor, electricity, internet, service and everything you need for a carefree recreation.

A good glamping has many of the hallmarks of a hotel. But, unlike it, in glamping there is always a gorgeous view from any window, the ecological component is carefully thought out, and the maximum closeness to life in nature is preserved. Civilized conditions are so organically inscribed in the surrounding landscape that they become completely invisible. [3, 31 p. ]

Glampings have several characteristic features. Let's name them in any order.

• Remoteness from civilization. Glamping is often located in an impeccably beautiful and hard-to-reach place where it is impossible to build a hotel. It rarely happens that you can drive up to the hotel on asphalt. More often you can get to glamping only by all-terrain vehicles, helicopters, specially prepared jeeps or snowmobiles.

• The most important condition is beautiful views. Glampings are installed in the most beautiful places where you can admire natural landscapes, on the slopes of mountains, in forests, near reservoirs and waterfalls, and where you can meet unusual natural phenomena. [3, 29 p. ]

• When building housing for glamping, the principle of environmentally friendly, careful attitude to nature is taken into account. This applies to both materials for exterior and interior decoration, as well as the selection of household items and accessories. They must be made from natural materials.

What are glamping dwellings?

It can be an upgraded tent, a safari tent, or a yurt. Wooden houses and transparent eco-capsules are also common. The materials from which glamping dwellings are built must necessarily be ecological and organically fit into the environment without harming it. Generators and solar panels are often used to generate energy. Water is extracted from natural wells. [one]

Glampings offer a lot of entertainment and activities, depending on the location of the hotel. In summer, water activities are available - kayaking, stand-up boards, fishing, swimming in a river or lake, boating, horseback riding. You can also take quad and jeep tours, go to a barbecue, meditate, devote time to cycling, badminton, go trekking, and in the evening arrange songs by the fire or try out a bathhouse. [five]

The classification of glampings is the most diverse. It happens that the concept of glamping is built around a land plot or they are looking for land to match the concept itself.

Depending on these factors, three types of glamping emerge:

• Glamping is a satellite of the city. Location near the big city, where city dwellers come for the weekend, who want to relax from the hustle and bustle.

• Glampings with unique nature. It can be a calm beach, wild jungle, mountain peaks or desert steppes. A place with beautiful views where people from all over the world come on vacation for 5-14 days.

• Exclusive glamping. A kind of adventure tour in which people go to the wildest and most inaccessible locations on our planet by helicopters, off-road vehicles or icebreakers to see the most unique places.

There are seasonal glampings - they are built from temporary structures with the onset of spring in northern latitudes (or dry seasons closer to the equator).

There are glamping sites all year round. Of course, this is easiest to organize in hot countries, on the islands. But, for example, in Finland and North America there are glamping sites that operate all year round: in summer, guests go fishing and rafting on rivers and lakes, and in winter they go skiing, dog sledding and snowmobiling. The houses have heated blankets, eco-friendly heaters and cozy stoves. [2]

The pandemic has made its own adjustments to the organization of travel and forced both the organizers of the tourism business and travelers to adapt to the new conditions. In addition, self-isolation has forced businesses to go online in order not to lose their customers and save income. Tourism did not stand aside, promoting its product on various online platforms and social networks. [10, 310 p. ]

According to experts, glamping is a flexible business of a new generation, developing mainly through the Internet along with consumer preferences. In addition, legislation regarding the organization and construction of glamping sites is still being developed - eco-hotels can be built where, for any reason, capital construction is prohibited: lands of the forest, coastal fund or specially protected areas.

In recent decades, the popularity of glamping has grown exponentially. There are already quite a lot of glampings all over the world, more than 8000. In England, for example, there are about 2500 of them. [3, 29 p. ] In Russia, this process is just beginning to emerge, now we have about 150 glamping hotels. They are located in the Moscow region, the Krasnodar Territory, the Kaliningrad Region, Karelia, Baikal, Kamchatka, Altai and other regions. In the vastness of our country there are many wild places of extraordinary beauty. And, of course, this direction will develop, offering tourists new experiences and adventures.
