To Finish

SEWING IN ENDS: Sew in ends, leaving ends from cast on rows and bound off rows for sewing up.
LEGS With WS together, fold leg in half. Starting at foot, sew up legs on RS. Leave open at top of leg.
HEADFold head in half and sew from nose along underside. Leave neck end open.
TUMMYSew cast on row to armadillo’s bottom and bound off row to neck end of body. Using mattress stitch, sew tummy to body, working on the inside and one stitch in from the body edge to leave a small rim and give the feel of a shell. Leave a 1in (2.5cm) gap in one side. STUFFING Pipe cleaners are used to stiffen the legs and help bend them into shape. Cut to approximately fit, leaving an extra 1in (2.5cm) at one end. Fold end over to stop the pipe cleaner poking out of the paws. Roll a little stuffing around pipe cleaner and slip into leg. Leave top of leg open, pipe cleaner sticking out. Stuff the head, starting at the nose; leave neck end open. Stuff the body, sew up gap, and mold into shape like a giant dried bean.
ATTACHING HEAD AND LEGS Push pipe cleaners of back legs into the tummy. Using whip stitch, sew the legs onto the tummy. Repeat for front legs. Sew open head end onto the body at neck, just below the front of body.
TAIL Cut a pipe cleaner 1in (2.5cm) longer than tail. Roll a little stuffing around pipe cleaner and slip into tail. Push protruding pipe cleaner end into armadillo where back meets tummy. Sew tail to body with whip stitch.
EARS Sew cast on row of each ear to where head meets body, with one stitch between ears.
EYES With black, sew 2 3-loop French knots for eyes
