9. PREREQUISITES



 

a. Active component or National Guard United States Army Special Forces

Enlisted personnel in the rank of SSG (E-6) or SFC (E-7) with a minimum of 2 years ODA or ODB time and who have been nominated by their Chain of Command are eligible to attend to SFISC.

 

b. IAW AR 350-1, soldiers attending military schools and institutional training courses, in either a PCS or TDY status, which require preparation of a DA Form 1059 (Service School Academic Evaluation Report) will be administered height and weight screening as a mandatory course requirement. Height and weight screening WILL occur on the first day of training. Soldiers who subsequently fail to meet the body composition standards of AR 600–9 will be removed from the course. There is no APFT administered during this course.

 

c. It is no longer required for incoming students to possess a completed/adjudicated TOP SECRET (TS) clearance. In order to attend SFISC with a SECRET clearance, students must have initiated a TOP SECRET clearance investigation (as reflected in JPAS). It is the unit’s responsibility to ensure this prerequisite is met. Students who do not have a minimum of an open TS investigation by the start of the course will not be accepted for attendance into SFISC. An interim TS clearance is NOT required. There may be additional engagement opportunities for students with a TS clearance during the course. In order to be permitted involvement in these engagements, these student must be read on to the following caveats by their parent unit before arriving at SFISC: SI/TK/G/H.

 

10. IN-PROCESSING: All students are required to utilize the enclosures attached at the end of the welcome letter to complete course prerequisites. Ensure all prerequisites are read and understood before attending the course. Anyone who does not meet all the prerequisites will be immediately recommended for drop from the course due to a prerequisite failure.

 

11. DISCIPLINARY ISSUES: Any student who is involved in an alcohol related incident or violates the student honor code while in attendance at the SFISC will be recommended for immediate relief from the course IAW USAJFKSWCS Regulation 350-12.
