Many people understand that camp is good for children. However, they do not always know why it is good. What are the benefits of camp? One main benefit is team building. Teambuilding Teambuilding is a process that must happen for a camp group to be healthy. It helps children learn to understand each other. It helps them care for each other. Teambuilding is also an outcome of camp. This means that when children finish camp, they have better skills for teambuilding when they go home. Teambuilding happens when a group works toward a common goal. Research Says Sports are good for teambuilding, but not all children do sports. Teens may stop playing sports even if they played them as children. Teams are strongest when leaders focus them on tasks and goals. Teams can be negative if peers have a bad relationship. Teambuilding should create positive relationships and encourage teammates to help each other. Teamwork/Teambuilding and Camps Participation in team activities helps children build community at camp. Team building is a good way for campers to support each other. Children and parents think team building is important. Bottom Line Camps can make individual campers more independent and successful. However, we should not forget the importance of group skills. Campers who participate in activities to build groups have a better community and learn important team skills for their life.
