Remember the cases to use the Subjective Infinitive Construction: a) When the predicate is in the passive voice and expressed by the verbs of speech, mental activity and feelings: say, report, announce, know, believe, think, find, hear, see; and after the verb make. Ex: His theory is believed to be correct. He is supposed to have come back. She was made to rewrite the test.
b) When the predicate is in the active voice and expressed by the verbs: happen, seem, appear, prove, chance, turn out. Ex: He seems to know this man. The weather seems to be changing.
c) When the predicate is expressed by the linking- verb with an adjective: likely, unlikely, sure, certain Ex: She is sure to come. They are likely to have completed the work.
