1. My family is not very big, just a typical family: Dad, Mom, me, my brother and sister and our dog. My Mummy is forty-five. She is a teacher of English at the University. She is an inborn teacher. She has great teaching abilities. My Dad is a designer. He works for a notorious design company. My parents like their work very much. My elder sister Maria is twenty-one. She studies at the University. She wants to be a writer. She is fond of reading books.

My younger brother Nikita is just 4 years old. He goes to the kindergarten. He is smart and hilarious. I like to spend my free time with him. We often do something together. Nikita likes to play with our dog. My grandparents are retired. They are fond of gardening. My grandfather and grandmother spend much time in the garden. They know about growing vegetables and fruits a lot. We enjoy having fresh vegetables and greens from our grandparents. I love my family very much. We are always ready to help each other.

2. My Flat

I live in a sixteen-storied building in the centre of our city. I live with my parents in a cozy three-room flat on the tenth floor. My flat has three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a hall. The living room is large and light, its large window faces the main street. There is a sofa and two armchairs in it. By the wall opposite the armchairs, there is a TV set, and a tape recorder. On the wall above the sofa, there is a large picture. A carpet is on the floor in the middle of the room. Our bedroom is small. There are two beds, a dressing table with a mirror and a wardrobe there.

My room is big. There is a sofa by the wall. To the left of the sofa there is a desk with a computer. To the right there is a wardrobe. I have many books and there are bookshelves in my room. There is also an armchair in the corner of the room. Our kitchen has all modern conveniences. There is a microwave oven, a fridge, and many other things. The furniture in the kitchen is light. There is a large table with four chairs in the middle of the kitchen. Our kitchen is very cozy.

We like our flat very much. We often invite friends and relatives to our place.
