My favourite animal is a dog. It is a pet.

Dogs can be big or small and different colours – white, brown, black or with spots. Usually dogs have got thick fur and nice tail rings.

Dogs mostly live with people at home or in the country. Dogs eat meat, vegetables and pets food. Dogs are very clever, they can do a lot of things. They can run and jump, they can sit, stand and lie down upon command. Dogs can swim and even dance. Dogs like playing with a ball at the park.

Dogs are very popular in Russia. There are about 10 million dogs in our country. So Russia is the first in Europe by the number of dogs and the fifth in the world.

I like dogs because they are so cute and friendly.

People must take care of dogs, take them for a walk, feed them. People mustn’t hurt dogs, because dogs are our friends and bodyguards.

EXAMPLE 2.

I’d like to tell you about dolphins.

Dolphins are mammal sea animals. They live in the warm waters of the Black Sea and other seas or oceans. They can be grey and sometimes white.

They’ve got flippers and can swim very fast and even jump.

Dolphins can’t breathe under water, but they can stay under water for about 15 minutes.

Dolphins have got 88 teeth. They eat fish. They can eat up to 30 kilos fish a day.

Dolphins are big and heavy. They can be about 300 or 500 kilos and 2 or 3 meters long.

Dolphins live for about 40 years or even longer. Dolphins live in families.

Dolphins have names. Their names are special sounds. They use them to call their friends and family.

Dolphins are kind, clever and beautiful animals. They aren’t dangerous. They are very friendly. They love playing with people.

People love dolphins.

I’d like to swim with a dolphin.
