According to the guidelines of the Alliance, we consider international volunteering as “a powerful educational tool towards participation, solidarity and intercultural learning. ” Pro-international camps are added one more ingredient: German language. And 2019 in Weingarten Sports! Are you a volunteer? Are you interested in improving your German? You are very welcome in our camps! You are very welcome and you should be willing to use German for 3 weeks.

				You can call this number at your arrival, if needed. If you are already in Germany pay attention with roaming which may cost a lot. Important also:	- Send us back the German questionnaire before travelling (which will be emailed to you approx. 2 weeks before the camps starts) - Inform us by email about your arrival-time as soon as you know. About your arrival:		We expect you to join the camp in the afternoon of the official arrival day. Read details about the meeting point below. Please do not mix the dates of the camp with those dates, which are mentioned in your official invitation (for getting VISA). Those last dates are extended just in order to give you more flexibility concerning your trip.

Technical arrival information The following information represent some possibilities and give you some hints. Your are responsible for your travel and arrival therefore inform yourself! Don’t complain if you don’t find Weingarten/Pfalz					You can even ask by email. People who don’t plan have normally some difficulties. But anyhow - everybody reached Weingarten in the last 3 years.
If you travel by plane Be carefull choose the right Weingarten! Weingarten/Pfalz					Frankfurt means: 2 international airports: - *Frankfurt am Main (FRA)* - close to Frankfurt - Frankfurt Hahn (HHN)= correct adress Hahn /Lautzenhausen – 124km west of Frankfurt –

Further airports:					Baden Airport (80km south of Weingarten) or Stuttgart, 120 km east of Weingarten or any other airport in Germany – Memmingen – cheap connections -200km east of Weingarten/Pfalz -Strasbourg -Kö ln/Bonn

Once in Frankfurt am Main (FRA) don’t leave the airport but ask/look for the Fernbahnhof track 4-7 (e. g Gleis 6). Very easy to find, it is located at the Terminal 1. From Terminal 2 you use the bus or skyline to Terminal 1. . Don’t go to Regionalbahnhof unless you want to travel to Frankfurt centre. In the Fernbahnhof station you can buy the ticket directly to Weingarten/Pfalz near Germersheim including the S-Bahn trip and bus.

The trip from Frankfurt Airport to Weingarten takes about 2 hours. Indicate always Weingarten Pfalz – otherwise you get most likely the wrong ticket. Once arrived in Frankfurt Airport, you can buy there a ticket to Weingarten/ Pfalz Kirche for about 19, 90? (Internet, Sparangebot) up to 33?.
You buy the ticket at the machine (English available). A reservation is not necessary. Please look at: www. bahn. de. From Airport about every 30 min a train is running to Mannheim. Example of a timetable of a train connection from Frankfurt Airport > Weingarten(Pfalz) (about 100km)

Remark to prices: At the ticket machine you will pay about 32 Euro.

There at Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof (HBF=mainstation) you take the S-Bahn or train with the bus for about 12, 30? to Speyer and than take the bus to Weingarten/Pfalz (see example below). Further details you can read at www. kvv. de if you travel in the region of Karlsruhe. Always indicate Weingarten/ Pfalz, otherwise internet apps or people will send you to the wrong Weingarten – especially in Karlsruhe!

Another example: Late arrival in Karlsruhe main station (HBF) and travel with train to Lingenfeld ( 5 km east of Weingarten /Pfalz ) –meeting point is at the S-Bahn Station.

Travelling by bus is usually cheaper. Therefore you can travel with a cheap flight to some airports which might even more than 200km from Weingarten away. Conclusion: According to your personal wishes and budget, you can select among a lot of possibilities,

Only in case of problems with busses from Speyer or Germersheim to Weingarten/Pfalz you should travel to Lingenfeld you phone Danca and she tries to find a car so that someone picks you up. Sportif people easily walk the 5 km to Weingarten. Prepare the journey carefully and look to google maps that you know the locations Frankfurt/Main, Mannheim, Ludwigshafen/Rhein, Speyer/Rhein, Lingenfeld, Germersheim, Karlsruhe/Rhein and Weingarten/Pfalz and may be Lautzenhausen (HHN=airport Frankfurt Hahn) 124 km west of Frankfurt /Main.

Another airport ins Memmingen. In Memmingen you just take a cheap Baden-Wü rttemberg ticket with some other people. Enter as target Philippsburg(Baden) or Germersheim or Lingenfeld. The pricing is complicated at bahn and changes sometimes. If you are younger than 27 yers, it costs about 24 Euro plus 6 Euro for a second person + 6 Euro for a third etc. Limit: In total 5 Persons.

If it is cheap you can also travel to Weingarten via Memmingen, Ulm, Stuttgart, Philippsburg(Baden) or Germersheim or Lingenfeld, Germersheim is:

Also you can travel to Baden Airport which is about 80 km south from Weingarten.

Baden is close to Karlsruhe and about 80km south of Weingarten. It is the nearest airport.

From Karlsruhe to Lingenfeld you have to look at kvv. de – don’t enter in the app the wrong Weingarten.

Sometimes Lufthansa has good offers to Frankfurt or Stuttgart.

It might be that a booking from an Airport to Stuttgart in combination with ticket Deutsche Bahn is usefull if the airplane flys to Frankfurt. Than just taking the train to Stuttgart and leaving the train in Mannheim and continue with train to Speyer and than bus or with train to Lingenfeld. Any Train (ICE) from Frankfurt Airport stops in Mannheim.

Meeting Point for late arrivals:

We expect you to join the camp in the afternoon of the official arrival day. The last bus leaves Speyer at about 19: 40h to Weingarten/Pfalz.
