BURTASSKY LION: TO QUESTION INERPRETATION OF THE ARTEFACT " NO. 1" FROM THE ZOLOTARYOVSKY ANCIENT SETTLEMENT (PENZA REGION)

In article the shape of an archaeological exhibit of burtassky culture is analyzed and possible interpretations of his use in the household and practical plan are given. Burtasa - the breeding association occurring on the right coast of Middle Volga. Burtasa are for the first time mentioned by the Arab authors in the 9th century, in the Russian literary monuments — since the 13th century. The ethnic origin of burtas is disputable. In the 7th century of a burtasa exposed up to 10 thousand riders making campaigns on Bulgarians Volga and Kama and Pechenegs. The Zolotaryovsky Ancient settlement - the preserved field of 2 fights: in the 10th and 13th centuries. Size: 150-250 words.
