Reading T: We’ve got acquainted with the rule of advertising and now read the text and find the answer to the question “What are the features of a successful advertisement?” Successful advertisements have some common elements, which you should keep in mind when developing your advertising campaign. They are simple, clear, informative and customer-oriented. The heart of an ad is its message – that's what you want your target audience to understand about your product or service. Your message should answer a concrete question, for example: why should customers buy your product at this particular time? Well, a message such as 'buying during our sale costs less' is pretty clear. But it doesn't mean you alwaysneed to answer the question directly. The messages may be implied, for example 'toothpaste that gives you fresh breath will help you to be popular'. Don't forget that advertising messages are not slogans. A slogan is just one technique to get your message across: a catchy phrase such as Nike's 'Just do it'. You can have a successful campaign without a slogan, but you can't without a message. Only after you understand and formulate your message can you think of the slogan and other campaign details. Complete the notes about:
