Here are some funny international days you didn’t even know that they exist.

Polar Bear Plunge Day – January 1

Start off the year with an act of daredevilry. Celebrate Polar Plunge Day on January 1 by taking a dip in the cold, freezing waters of your local lake, river or pond.

It is a popular New Year’s Day tradition in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Netherlands. In these countries, many people organize and participate in a Polar Bear Plunge for charity.

Popcorn Day – January 19

January 19 is Popcorn Day, a day to organize an impromptu movie night, just so that you can enjoy a tub or two of crunchy, salty and buttery popcorn. Or, if you have a sweet tooth, treat yourself to some delicious caramel popcorn.

Popcorn has a very long and varied history. Historians believe that corn whose kernels could be popped was first cultivated around 5000 B.C.E. in Mexico. Archaeologists have found evidence of first popcorn maker – a utensil with holes and a handle – dating back to 400 C.E. in Peru.

Say Something Nice – June 1

On June 1, be kind to everyone you meet and say something nice to them because it is Say Something Nice Day. The day aims to encourage people to spread cheer and goodwill by opening up channels of communication and by focusing on the good in everyone.
