False bank employee

· If you get a phone call from the bank about suspicious transaction, credit registration in your name by a third person, unauthorized withdrawal, REMEMBER, IT IS A SCAM! Hang up immediately and contact the bank office for more information (hotline number is on the back of your card).

· If a potential seller or customer is asking you to follow the link for a safe deal, safe delivery, payment, transaction, REMEMBER, IT IS A SCAM!

Read the information about the safe deal or safe shipment on the official website of the company beforehand!

· Do not tell anyone including automatic caller your personal information, card details, and SMS-codes.

· Do not install applications that strangers ask you to.

· If you buy or sell something online, read the information about the seller or buyer carefully, and do not provide additional personal information. Do not make any transactions upon the requests of strangers, avoid online payments.

· If you get a call from a friend or a relative asking for money, you should call them yourself and make sure that they really need help.

WHERE YOU CAN REPORT A SCAM

If you became a victim of a scam or witnessed scamming, you should immediately call the police (tel: 02; cell: 102). There is also a service on the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Tomsk region (https://70.мвд.рф/request_main) for requests, applications, reporting scams and crimes.

People often fall for such tricks even if they know common types of telephone and Internet scams because intruders use personal information to convince them.

Remember:

Scammers might have your passport, house, bank account, and credit payment information. Do not fall for that!

Be vigilant! Don’t let them fool you!

Common types of Internet or telephone scams:

False bank employee

The most common type of scam. A stranger calls introducing themselves as a bank employee or a bank security officer and warns you about the suspicious activity on your account. After that, they try to convince you to transfer money, give your personal information or install the application to get access to your account.
