Imagine, you are 3or 4 girlfriends. You haven’t seen each other for ages. Now you want to meet up and have a good time together. That’s why you’ve decided to arrange a perfect potluck party at one of your friends’ house. Start planning your potluck now. 1. Choose a theme of your potluck party (for example: “global street food” – you can ask your friends to bring a dish that is inspired by one they discovered on their travels or from a place they want to go). 2. Think about the atmosphere and some decorating ideas. Set the mood for your party. 3. Make decisions about the menu (starters, main courses, deserts, drinks). 4. Think about a hostess gift as a great way to say thank you. Follow the instructions: 1. Work together. Nominate someone to act as the group leader. Read the items of the plan given above. Brainstorm your ideas in a group. Decide on the tasks each member is responsible for. Make sure that work is equally distributed among the group. Take time to make sure everyone understands what it is they will need to achieve (10 minutes). 2. Each member carries out his/her individual task (10 minutes). 3. If someone is having trouble completing his/her area of responsibility, work with that person to figure out how to solve the problem. Be helpful, but don’t offer to do other people’s work. 4. Get together and pull all the pieces together. Review your project as a whole rather than just looking over individual contributions (10 minutes). 5. Present your ideas to other groups making turns to talk about all the items of the plan (5-7 minutes). Good luck!
