REGULATIONS FOR THE INTERNATIONAL ON-LINE COMPETITION

“SYGYT 2020”

1. General Provisions

1. The international on-line competition “Sygyt - 2020” (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) is dedicated to Khöömei Day in the Republic of Tuva. The initiator and founder of the competition is the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tuva, the organizers are the State Budgetary Institution “Center for the Development of Tuvan Traditional Culture and Crafts” (The Tuvan Cultural Center).

2. Purpose and Goals of the Competition

2.1. Preservation and development of the art of Khöömei;

2.2. Popularization of the Tuvan school of Khöömei performance;

2.3. Development of the mass appeal and heightening performance practice among performers of sygyt;

2.4. Revealing the best performers of Sygyt.

3. Conditions for Participation

3.1. Traditional performance, only in the style of “Sygyt” and its variants, performance time shall be no longer than 5 minutes;

3.2. Performance repertoire should be marked by originality of text. Accompaniment is allowed only on traditional folk instruments;

3.3. The competitor should be in tradtitional clothing;

3.4. Performers must be older than 18 years of age;

3.5. The competition will be conducted using video materials made/recorded by the competitors, using any available device (video camera, telephone);

3.6. Each competitor may send only one video;

3.7. Each video should contain only one competitor (no groups);

3.8. The use of classical musical instruments and electronic music is strictly forbidden;

3.9. Recommended definition for video should be no less than 1280x780 pixels, the frame should be horizontal, in any of these formats: AVI, MOV, MPEG, MP4.

3.10. Video materials presented in the competition which have poor quality of video or sound will not be considered for the competition.

3.11. There is no entry fee for the competition (participation is free).

3.12. Applications for participation in the competition should be sent by e-mail to the address: сtyva@yandex.ru by August 13, 2020.
