Communiqué of the Republic of Cuba

The Republic of Cubareaffirms their commitment to the high communist ideas of Marx, Engels and Lenin, standing firmly at the position of proletarian internationalism. We express our permanent intention to struggle against capitalist oppression and counter-socialist censorship, againstlabor exploitation and violation of human rights. We want to recall that the right of the state to restrict human rights in certain situations is limited by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Guided by UN Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, Constitution and glorious national traditions of Cuba, we declare the following:

1. We insiston necessity to protect workers’ rights from the new form of capitalist exploitation – cyber surveillance at work, total humiliation of human dignity, which takes its place at corporations of capitalist world. Unbearable working conditions on Amazon storages, in which seven persons was lost for the last five years, are sustained by digital technologies in particular.

2. We doubt that total surveillance set by bourgeois governments or by capitalist enterprises is an appropriate case of human rights restriction. On the contrary, we believe such surveillance serves for further enslavement of working class. We also doubt that Internet penetration, profitable not only for well-being of people, but also for well-being of corporations, of bourgeois propaganda, of cyber criminals, is as required and beneficial phenomenon as some parts infuses.

3. At the same time, we cannot deny that national sovereignty of states is their integral right, and provision of it can take different forms. For a while, we decided to abstain from making coalitions and to express our independent position.

4. We underline this communiqué does not mean any unfriendly position to other countries and its blocks, and neither we want todistance ourselves of cooperation and mutual decision at the matter. We call all the people of good will to join as and to develop a balanced position on the problem of human rights in digital age.
