Arrival and Placement Procedures upon Receiving Visa to Enter China

 

1. Arrival Support

a. Candidate provides Shanghai Meiji with flight itinerary.

b. Shanghai Meiji picks up candidate from Pudong or Hongqiao airport.

c. Candidate is assisted with getting SIM card for phone service in China.

d. Candidate is assisted with opening a Chinese bank account with debit card.

e. Candidate is escorted to his or her furnished apartment.

2. Orientation

a. Candidate will receive detailed orientation about our program.

b. Candidate is free to discuss survival tips for China.

3. TEFL Training

a. Candidate will receive TEFL training from our expert in-house trainer.

b. Candidate will be informed about the teaching methods that are expected in

China.

c. Candidate will be informed about the different types of schools in China.

d. Candidates will be prepped for demos for the schools as this is required from our partner schools for the interview process.

e. Candidate will be prepped on how to answer most common questions our partner schools will ask during interview process.

f. Candidate shall make a self-introduction/demo video assisted by our trainer.

4. Placement

a. After completion of training, candidate’s self-introduction/demo video will be sent to our partner schools to confirm interviews.  

b. After interview, partner school shall welcome our candidate to work at their school.

c. If our partner school declines a candidate, another interview with a different partner

school shall be set up.

d. Placement is guaranteed within 10 days of arrival to China.

e. It is the candidate’s responsibility to have the willingness to come to interviews when requested.  

f. Candidate shall be placed in either language center (students’ ages 3-12) or kindergartens (students’ ages 2-6). There can be a preference for the candidate. However, language center or kindergarten is not a guaranteed choice.

5. Follow up / Feedback

a. After a candidate has been placed with a school, we welcome feedback and questions from both school and candidate.

b. We offer constant training throughout candidate’s placement to ensure growth as a TEFL

teacher.

c. We will be a liaison between the school and candidate throughout candidate’s placement with our partner school.
