 Past Perfect with the conjunctions

HARDLY / SCARCELY / BARELY … WHEN …

NOSOONER … THAN …

Эти сложносоставные союзы используются для обозначения последовательности действий в значении «Как только / едва / не успел … как …»

Такие предложения чаще всего строятся при помощи инверсии.

 

Hardly /barely / scarcely had she arrived when the party finished. – Неуспелаонаприехать, каквечеринказакончилась

No sooner had I gone to take a shower, than the doorbell rang. - Кактолькояушелпринятьдуш, прозвенелдвернойзвонок.

 

Translate the sentences into Russian
