Description:

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how Achilles athletes and guides stay connected, but it has not changed our mission of transforming the lives of people with disabilities through athletic programming and social connection. If anything, we are more connected now than ever before.

While chapters have been meeting over Zoom on a regular basis the past five months, it’s time to take it a step further and grow that sense of connection even more. Announcing the 2020 Achilles Cup! This fall, Achilles is hosting a three week community challenge. Gather your chapter and form a team. Athletes, Guides, Supporters, Friends, Family, Runners, Walkers, Wheelers… all are welcome! Prizes will be awarded in the following categories to both runner and wheeler teams:

● Most Miles Run or Wheeled

● Largest Team

● Most Miles Run or Wheeled on Average (minimum 10 runners)

● Most Funds Raised

● Most Funds Raised on Average (minimum 10 runners)

It’s time to show your chapter pride! Does your chapter have what it takes to run the most miles and raise the most funds? Join the Achilles Cup and take the challenge! All chapters are welcome! Funds raised by each chapter will count towards that chapter's annual fundraising efforts.

In addition to chapter teams, there will be opportunity for participants to form a corporate team, so be sure to engage your volunteers and supporters. Individual participants are welcome as well. or as individuals.

Registration begins on September 21 at 9: 00 am.

The challenge will culminate in a virtual toast (Raise Your Cup! ) and celebration of the power of Achilles on the evening of November 19th where winners will be announced and you’ll have the chance to hear Achilles athletes share their stories as told to our celebrity guest interviewers.

Cost:

Achilles athletes/athletes with disabilities: Free

First responders, essential workers, veterans, youth (18 and under): $15

General public: $30

General Ticket to November 19 Event & Challenge Registration: $50

Achilles athlete/people with disabilities Ticket to November 19 Event: FREE
