NookatDistrinct.

 

Nookat (Kirg. Nookat) is a city in Kyrgyzstan, the administrative center of Nookat district of Osh region. The city is located in the northeastern part of Osh Province, 43 km southwest of the regional center - the city of Osh.

Nookat is located at an altitude of 1302 m above sea level. It borders Uzbekistan in the northwest, Aravan in the north, Kara-Sui in the east, Kadamzhai in the West, Alai and Chon-Alai districts of Batken region. The area is 4. 04 thousand km2 (13. 9% of the territory of the region). The population is 206. 0 thousand people (2002). The district is divided into 15 aiylokmotu. The capital is the city of Nookat. History of Nookat:

According to historical data, there was a lake on the site of Nookat. The settlement of EskiNookat (also called IskiNookat village) was established in 1823. On September 8, 2003, it was given the status of a town of district subordination Nookat.

The word Nookat is of Turkish-Persian origin and means " multilayered bush" (Nov - " bush", Kat - " multilayered. As reported, representatives of the district state administration and local residents took part in the event. Even 40 thousand years ago, archaeological excavations were made in the Paleolithic, testifying to the existence of life on this earth. This is one of the caves on earth. Z. hour.
