| | Некоторые глаголы выражают не действие, а состояние. Они употребляются только в Present Simple.
like, love, hate, want, need, prefer, know, understand, believe, remember, mean, belong, consist, see, hear, smell (пахнуть), taste (быть на вкус), be, have (иметь), think (полагать, считать) etc.
I am hungry. I want something to eat.
I don’t believe you, you’re lying.
Глаголы feel и look (выглядеть) могут употребляться в Present Simple или в Present Continuous для данного момента.
You look nice today. = You’re lookingnice today.
How do you feel? = How are you feeling?
| think – думать, размышлять
You look serious. What are you thinking about?
have в составе словосочетаний, обозначающих действие (have breakfast / lunch / dinner; have a bath / a shower; have a good time etc. )
They’re having lunch at the moment.
be – необычное поведение в данный момент/период
Tim is being so kind to me today. I’m sure he wants me to help him with something.
smell – нюхать
Why is the dog smelling my shoes?
taste – пробовать
Don’t eat the salad until everybody is at the table! – I’m not eating, I’m just tasting.
see – встречаться (обычно о будущем)
I’m seeingJohn tonight.
| | always – всегда.
I always do homework in my bedroom.
| always – все время. Говорящего раздражает, что это происходит слишком часто.
I’ve lost my key again. I’m always losing things.
