И менно из мелочей и тонкостей и складывается отличие носителя языка, для которого английский является родным, от изучающего язык. Выбор правильного времени, которое будет звучать наиболее естественно, является одной из таких тонкостей.

В английском есть показатели, или маркеры времен, которые указывают на регулярность действия, особый промежуток времени или определенною точку временного отсчета. С каждым маркером обычно используется конкретное время.

Present	Past	Future
Simple
usually regularly often as a rule seldom rarely never always sometimes from time to time every day (month, year…) at weekends at the weekend on Mondays	ago in those times that day the other day yesterday the day before yesterday last week (month, year…) just now!!! afterwards eventually formerly suddenly then at once	tomorrow the day after tomorrow soon one of these days in a week (hour, year…) next week (year, month…) in the near future in (the) future later tonight
Continuous tense
now right now still at the moment at present always (раздражение) constantly (раздражение)	at 10 o’clock yesterday while when the whole day still all day (night) long at thatmoment	at this time next Sunday at 7 o’clock tomorrow in a week all day long tomorrow
Perfect tense
ever never already not… yet just!!! before lately of late recently for for ages since this week today still(для отрицательных предложений) yet (для отрицательных предложений)	for since by after before	by the time by before
Perfect Continuous tense
for (в течение…), since (с…), all day/night (весь день, всю ночь), by (к…), when (когда).
