Daniel has earned over $5 milllion for ….. – we don’t know when but he has the money now.

We form the present perfect with the present form of the verb have and the past participle of the main verb.

I have watched TV.

He has watched TV.

Let’s make together the negative form and the question.

I haven’t watched TV.

Have I watched TV?

· We use the present perfect to talk about an action in the past with a result now. The time of the action in the past is not given or important.

Daniel has earned over $5 milllion for ………….. – we don’t know when but he has the money now.

· We use the present perfect to talk about life experiences. We focus on what happened, not when it happened.

I have read all the Harry Potter books – it’s not important when I read them, but that I know what they are about.

The difference between the use of the past simple and the present perfect is that in past simple we know when the action took place and in present perfect when the action happened is not defined.
