Red Hot Chili Peppers, alsosometimesshortened to " The Chili Peppers" orabbreviated as " RHCP", are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1983.

The group's musical styleprimarilyconsists of rock withanemphasison funk, as well as elementsfromothergenressuch as punk rock and psychedelic rock.
