Book 2: chapters 21-65 24 страницаand the angels are sent down in streams. 40. 26. On that Day, true sovereignty will belong to the Merciful, and it will be a difficult Day for the disbelievers. 41. 27. On that Day, the wrongdoer will bite his hands, and say, “If only I had followed the way with the Messenger.
42. 28. Oh, woe to me; I wish I never took so-and-so for a friend. 43. 29. He led me away from the Message after it had come to me; for Satan has always been a betrayer of man. ”
44. 30. And the Messenger will say, “My Lord, my people have abandoned this Quran. ”
45. 31. Likewise, to every prophet We assign enemies from among the wicked. 46. Yet your Lord suffices as a Guide and Savior.
47. 32. Those who disbelieve say, “Why was the Quran not revealed to him at once? ” 48. Thus in order to strengthen your heart thereby, and We revealed it in stages.
49. 33. Whatever argument they come to you with, We provide you with the truth, and a better exposition.
50. 34. Those who are herded into Hell on their faces —those are in a worse position, and further astray from the way.
The Criterion CHAPTER THREE Divisions 51-75 THE CRITERION 25: 35 - 25: 50 51. 35. We gave Moses the Scripture, and appointed his brother Aaron as his assistant. 52. 36. We said, “Go to the people who rejected Our signs, ” and We destroyed them completely.
53. 37. And the people of Noah: when they rejected the messengers, We drowned them that were heedless of the messengers, and made them a lesson for mankind. 54. We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful retribution.
55. 38. And Aad, and Thamood, and the inhabitants of Arras, and many generations in between. 56. 39. To each We presented the parables; and each We devastated utterly.
57. 40. And they came upon the city that was drenched by the terrible rain. 58. Did they not see it?
59. Yet they do not expect resurrection.
60. 41. And when they see you, they take you for nothing except mockery: “Is this the one God sent as a messenger? ” 61. 42. “He nearly led us away from our gods, had we not (patiently) [diligently] adhered to them. ” 62. Yet they will know, when they witness the torment, who is further away from the way.
63. 43. Have you seen him who chose his desire as his god? 64. Would you be an agent for him?
65. 44. Or do you assume that most of them hear or understand? 66. They are just like cattle, but even more errant in their way.
67. 45. Do you not see how your Lord extends the shadow? 68. Had He willed, He could have made it still.
70. And We made the sun a pointer to it. 71. 46. Then We withdraw it towards Us gradually.
72. 47. And it is He who made the night a covering for you, and sleep for rest; and He made the day a revival. 73. 48. And it is He who sends the winds, bringing advance news of His mercy; 74. and We send down from the sky pure water. 49. To revive dead lands thereby, and to provide drink for the multitude of animals and humans We created. 75. 50. We have circulated it among them, that they may reflect, yet most people persist in thanklessness.
The Criterion CHAPTER FOUR Divisions 76-110 THE CRITERION 25: 51 - 25: 77 76. 51. Had We willed, We could have sent to every town a warner. 77. 52. So do not obey the disbelievers, yet strive against them with it, a mighty struggle.
78. 53. And it is He who merged the two seas; this one fresh and sweet, and that one salty and bitter; and He placed between them a barrier, and an impassable boundary. 79. 54. And it is He who, from fluid, created the human being. 80. Then He made relationships through marriage and mating.
Your Lord is Omnipotent. 81. 55. And yet, instead of God, they serve what neither profits them nor harms them. 82. The disbeliever has always turned his back on his Lord.
83. 56. We sent you only as a herald of good news and a warner. 84. 57. Say to them, “I ask of you no payment for this— only that whoever wills may take a path to his Lord. ” 85. 58. And put your trust in the Living, the One who never dies; and celebrate His praise. 86. He suffices as the All-Informed Knower of the faults of His creatures.
87. 59. He who created the heavens and the earth and everything between them in six days, then settled on the Throne. The Most Merciful. Ask about Him a well-informed. 88. 60. And when it is said to them, “Bow down to the Merciful, ” they say, “And what is the Merciful? 89. Are we to bow down to whatever you command us? ” 90. And it increases their aversion.
91. 61. Blessed is He who placed constellations in the sky, and placed in it a lamp, and an illuminating moon. 92. 62. And it is He who made the night and the day alternate —for whoever desires to reflect, or desires to show gratitude.
93. 63. The servants of the Merciful are those who walk the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, “Peace. ” 94. 64. And those who pass the night prostrating themselves to their Lord and standing up.
95. 65. And those who say, ‘‘Our Lord, avert from us the suffering of Hell, for its suffering is continuous. 96. 66. It is indeed a miserable residence and destination. ” 97. 67. And those who, when they spend, are neither wasteful nor stingy, yet choose a middle course between that.
98. 68. And those who do not implore besides God any other god, and do not kill the soul which God has made sacred— except in the pursuit of justice—and do not commit adultery. 99. Whoever does that will face penalties. 100. 69. The punishment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will dwell therein in humiliation forever. 101. 70. Except for those who repent, and believe, and do good deeds. 102. These—God will replace their bad deeds with good deeds.
God is ever Forgiving and Merciful.
103. 71. Whoever repents and acts righteously —has inclined towards God with repentance. 104. 72. And those who do not bear false witness; and when they come across indecencies, they pass by with dignity. 105. 73. And those who, when reminded of the revelations of their Lord, do not fall before them deaf and blind. 106. 74. And those who say, “Our Lord, grant us delight in our spouses and our children, and make us a good example for the righteous. ”
107. 75. Those will be awarded the Chamber for their patience, and will be greeted therein with greetings and peace. 108. 76. Abiding therein forever—it is an excellent residence and destination.
109. 77. Say to them, “What are you to my Lord without your prayers? 110. You have denied the truth, and the inevitable will happen. ”
The Poets CHAPTER ONE Divisions 1-35 THE POETS 26: 1 - 26: 37 1. 1. Ta, Seen, Meem. (T. S. M. ) 2. These are the Verses of the Clarifying Book.
2. 3. Perhaps you will destroy yourself with grief, because they do not become believers. 3. 4. If We will, We can send down upon them a sign from heaven, at which their necks will stay bent in humility.
4. 5. No fresh reminder comes to them from the Most Merciful, yet they turn their backs at it. 5. 6. They have denied the truth, but soon will come to them the news of what they ridiculed.
6. 7. Have they not seen the earth, and how many beautiful pairs We produced therein? 7. 8. Surely in this is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 8. 9. Most surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
9. 10. Your Lord called to Moses, “Go to the tyrannical people. 11. The people of Pharaoh. 10. Will they not fear? ”
11. 12. He said, “My Lord, I fear they will reject me. 13. And I become stressed, and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron too. 12. 14. And they have a charge against me, so I fear they will kill me. ” 13. 15. He said, “No. Go, both of you, with Our proofs. 14. We will be with you, listening.
15. 16. Go to Pharaoh, and say,
‘We are the Messengers of the Lord of the Worlds. 16. 17. Let the Children of Israel go with us. '“
17. 18. Pharaoh said, “Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you stayed among us for many of your years? 18. 19. And you committed that deed you committed, and you were ungrateful. ” 19. 20. Moses said, “I did it then, when I was of those astray. 20. 21. And I fled from you when I feared you; yet my Lord gave me wisdom, and made me one of the messengers. 21. 22. Is that the favor you taunt me with, although you have enslaved the Children of Israel? ”
22. 23. Pharaoh said, “And what is the Lord of the Worlds? ” 23. 24. Moses said, “The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them, if you are aware. ”
24. 25. Pharaoh said to those around him, “Do you not hear? ” 25. 26. Moses said, “Your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors of old. ” 26. 27. Pharaoh said, “This messenger of yours, who is sent to you, is crazy. ”
27. 28. Moses said, “Lord of the East and the West, and everything between them, if you understand. ” 28. 29. Pharaoh said, “If you accept any god other than me, I will make you a prisoner. ” 29. 30. Moses said, “What if I bring you something convincing? ” 30. 31. Pharaoh said, “Bring it, if you are being truthful. ”
31. 32. So he cast his staff; and it was a serpent, plain to see. 32. 33. And he pulled his hand; and it was white, for all to see.
33. 34. Pharaoh said to the dignitaries around him, “This is a skilled magician. 34. 35. He intends to drive you out of your land with his magic, so what do you recommend? ” 35. 36. They said, “Delay him and his brother, and send recruiters to the cities. 37. To bring you every experienced magician. ”
The Poets CHAPTER TWO Divisions 36-60
THE POETS 26: 38 - 26: 68 36. 38. So the magicians were gathered for the appointment on a specified day. 37. 39. And it was said to the people, “Are you all gathered? 40. That we may follow the magicians, if they are the winners. ”
38. 41. When the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, “Is there a reward for us, if we are the winners? ” 39. 42. He said, “Yes, and you will be among those favored. ”
40. 43. Moses said to them, “Present what you intend to present. ” 41. 44. So they threw their ropes and their sticks, and said, “By the majesty of Pharaoh, we will be the winners. ”
42. 45. Then Moses threw his staff, and behold, it began swallowing their trickery. 46. And the magicians fell down prostrating. 43. 47. They said, “We have believed in the Lord of the Worlds. 48. The Lord of Moses and Aaron. ”
44. 49. He said, “Did you believe in Him before I have given you permission? 45. He must be your chief, who taught you magic. 46. You will soon know. 47. I will cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you all. ”
48. 50. They said, “No problem. 49. To our Lord we will return. 50. 51. We are eager for our Lord to forgive us our sins, since we are the first of the believers. ”
51. 52. And We inspired Moses: “Travel with My servants by night. 52. You will be followed. ”
53. 53. Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities, saying, 54. (The people of Israel) “These are a small gang. 55. And they are enraging us. 56. Yet we are a vigilant multitude. ” 54. 57. So with the plagues We drove them (the Egyptians) out of gardens and springs. 58. And treasures and noble dwellings. 55. 59. So it was. And We made the Children of Israel inherit them. 56. 60. And they pursued them at sunrise. 61. and when the two groups sighted each other, the followers of Moses said, “We are being overtaken. ” 57. 62. He said, “No; my Lord is with me, He will guide me. ” 58. 63. We inspired Moses: “Strike the sea with your staff. ” Whereupon it parted, and each part was like a huge hill. 59. 64. And there We brought the others near. 65. And We saved Moses and those with him, all together. 66. Then We drowned the others. 60. 67. In that there is a sign, yet most of them are not believers.
68. Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
The Poets CHAPTER THREE Divisions 61-85
THE POETS 26: 69 - 26: 104 61. 69. And relate to them the story of Abraham. 62. 70. When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship? ” 63. 71. They said, “We worship idols, and we remain devoted to them. ”
64. 72. He said, “Do they hear you when you pray? 73. Or do they benefit you, or harm you? ” 65. 74. They said, “Yet we found our ancestors doing so. ”
66. 75. He said, “Have you considered what you worship. 76. You and your ancient ancestors? 67. 77. They are enemies to me, but not so the Lord of the Worlds, 78. He who created me, and guides me, 68. 79. He who feeds me, and waters me, 80. And when I get sick, He heals me. 69. 81. He who makes me die, and then revives me. 70. 82. He who, I hope, will forgive my sins on the Day of the Reckoning. ”
71. 83. “My Lord! Grant me wisdom, and include me with the righteous. 84. And give me a reputation of truth among the others. 72. 85. And make me of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 73. 86. And forgive my father—he was one of the misguided. 74. 87. And do not disgrace me on the Day they are resurrected. 88. The Day when neither wealth nor children will help. 89. Except for him who comes to God with a sound heart. ”
75. 90. And Paradise will be brought near for the righteous. 76. 91. And the blaze will be displayed to the deviators. 77. 92. And it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to worship 93. besides God? 78. Can they help you, or help themselves? ” 79. 94. Then they will be toppled into it, together with the seducers. 95. And the soldiers of Satan, all of them. 80. 96. They will say, as they feud in it,
97. “By God, We were in evident error 98. For equating you with the Lord of the Worlds. 81. 99. No one misled us except the sinners. 82. 100. Now we have no intercessors. 101. And no sincere friend. 83. 102. If only we could have another chance, we would be among the faithful. ”
84. 103. Surely in this is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 85. 104. Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

90. 109. I ask of you no payment for this. 91. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 92. 110. So fear God, and obey me. ”
93. 111. They said, “Shall we believe in you, when it is the lowliest who follow you? ” 94. 112. He said, “What do I know about what they do? 95. 113. Their account rests only with my Lord, if you have sense. 96. 114. And I am not about to drive away the believers. 97. 115. I am only a clear warner. ”
98. 116. They said, “If you do not refrain, O Noah, you will be stoned. ” 99. 117. He said, “My Lord, my people have denied me. 100. 118. So judge between me and them decisively, and deliver me and the believers who are with me. 101. 119. So We delivered him and those with him in the laden Ark. 120. Then We drowned the rest.

106. 127. I ask of you no payment for this. 107. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 108. 128. Do you build a monument on every height for vanity's sake? 109. 129. And you set up fortresses, hoping to live forever? 130. And when you strike, you strike mercilessly?
111. 131. So fear God, and obey me. 112. 132. And reverence Him, who supplied you with everything you know. 113. 133. He supplied you with livestock and children, 134. And gardens and springs. 114. 135. I fear for you the punishment of an awesome Day. ”
115. 136. They said, “It is the same for us, whether you lecture us, or do not lecture. 116. 137. This is nothing except morals of the ancients. 117. 138. And we will not be punished. ”
118. 139. So they denied him, and We destroyed them. 119. Surely in this is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 120. 140. Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

And fields, and palm-trees whose fruits are delicious? 126. 149. And you skillfully carve houses in the mountains? 127. 150. So fear God, and obey me. 128. 151. And do not obey the command of the extravagant 152. who spread turmoil on earth, and do not reform. ”
129. 153. They said, “You are surely one of the bewitched. 130. 154. You are nothing except a man like us. 131. So bring us a sign, if you are truthful.
132. 155. He said, “This is a she-camel; she has her turn of drinking, and you have your turn of drinking—on a specified day. 133. 156. And do not touch her with harm, lest the punishment of a great day seizes you. ” 134. 157. Yet they slaughtered her, and became full of [no] remorse. 158. So the punishment overtook them. 135. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

144. 167. They said, “Unless you refrain, O Lot, you will be expelled. ” 145. 168. He said, “I certainly deplore your conduct. ”
146. 169. Then he said, “My Lord, save me and my family from what they do. ” 147. 170. So We saved him and his family, altogether. 171. Except for an old woman among those who tarried. 148. 172. Then We destroyed the others. 173. And We rained down on them a rain. 149. Dreadful is the rain of those forewarned. 150. 174. Surely in this is a sign, yet most of them are not believers.
175. Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

162. 188. He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do. ” 163. 189. Yet they denied him. So the punishment of the day of gloom gripped them. 164. It was the punishment of a great day.
165. 190. Surely in this is a sign, yet most of them are not believers.
191. Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

Is it not a sign for them that the scholars of the Children of Israel recognized it?
171. 198. Had We revealed it to one of the foreigners. 199. And he had recited it to them, they still would not have believed in it. 172. 200. Thus We make it pass through the hearts of the guilty.
173. 201. They will not believe in it until they witness the painful punishment. 174. 202. It will come to them suddenly, while they are unaware. 175. 203. Then they will say, “Are we given any respite? ” 176. 204. Do they seek to hasten Our punishment?
177. 205. Have you considered: 178. if We let them enjoy themselves for some years. 206. Then there comes to them what they were promised. 179. 207. Of what avail to them will be their past enjoyments?
180. 208. Never did We destroy a town, except it had warners. 209. For a reminder 181. —We are never unjust.
182. 210. It was not the devils that revealed it. (the Quran) 183. 211. It is not in their interests, nor in their power. 184. 212. They are barred from hearing.
185. 213. So do not pray to another god with God, else you will be of those tormented. 186. 214. And warn your close relatives. 187. 215. And lower your wing to those of the believers who follow you. 188. 216. And if they disobey you, say, “I am innocent of what you do. ”
