Call for papers Deadline Friday, 10 October 2021 Student online conference “Non-military Instruments of Foreign Policy” 28-29 October 2021
Institute of History and International Relations, Southern Federal University, invites graduate and postgraduate students to submit a paper for online conference “ Non-military Instruments of Foreign Policy” which will be held from 28 to 29 October 2021. The main aim of the conference is to gather young scholars interested in non-military instruments of foreign policy, such as public diplomacy and nation branding. This event can be a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas among Russian and international students as well as collaborative research networking. Discussions at the conference will focus on the following topics: 1. Public diplomacy as an instrument of foreign policy (traditional public diplomacy institutions and new public diplomacy, threats and opportunities for public diplomacy in the post-COVID-19 era, experience of small countries in public diplomacy, etc. ) 2. Digital technologies in diplomatic practice (innovative approaches in digital diplomacy, new platforms and actors, Western and non-Western cases in digital diplomacy, etc. ) 3. The role of nation branding in foreign policy (leadership and nation branding, challenges of nation branding assessment, prospects for city diplomacy, etc. ) Applications for participation in the conference with the abstract (250 words) and paper (1200-1500 words) will be accepted until 10 October 2021 by e- mail fpconference@yandex. ru under the subject " Foreign Policy Conference". The authors of the received and accepted reports will be notified by 18 October 2021. Selected papers will be published in a collective volume in 2022.
