Lots of people who work from home can carry out their roles successfully because they are more concentrated, have flexible working hours and reduced commute times. If you work from home, you can structure your day to suit your personal needs. You can work as much, or as little, as you like. Besides, you do not have to commute long distances to and from work and pay for your travel expenses. What is more, if you are married, you can spend more time with your kids, playing with them or training them.

On the one hand, remote working is advantageous in certain aspects. Firstly, it is convenient for people regarding time and cost efficiency. This means hours spent on commuting every day can be used for other purposes such as leisure activities or self-improvement. Also, by working at home, people will no longer have worries over money for transportation, especially when the fuel price has increased significantly recently. Another benefit of working remotely is that it helps minimize air pollution. As people are no longer travelling to the workplace, they are likely to use private vehicles less than before. As a result, the amount of exhaust fumes released into the air will be reduced, which helps greatly with environmental protection.

It is very convenient because people will not waste time in traffic jams trying to get to their offices. Secondly, parents will have an opportunity to devote more time to looking after their children, playing with the children, going on holidays. Spending too much time at work is the biggest regret parents have about their children’s early years. Moreover, most women will choose to work at home because they will divide their time between doing household chores and working.

To sum up, I can say that working from home is much better because it gives everybody a chance to combine performing their job well and spending time with their family, which is essential for everyone.

However, in my opinion, working from home has both benefits and drawbacks.

One of the most important benefits of working from home is the ability to spend more time with our loved ones. Some people argue that this will boost the morale of employees and encourage them to give their best. Remote working also benefits parents of very young children. A lot of women quit their jobs to take care of their children. If companies allow them to work from their home, they can join the workforce again. Companies also benefit when employees work from their home. They can save money on office rentals and utility bills.

On the flip side, remote working has its drawbacks too. Some people believe that having a nice workplace where people can work together as a team and communicate closely is more beneficial than working from outside. I have a personal example on how distance can interfere with work outcomes. My boss travels a lot and sometimes I have a hard time meeting him. Once he asked me to prepare a presentation for a meeting we were going to have. As I started to work on it, I found out that I had some questions and I couldn´ t reach him to clarify my doubts. I finished my work and then weeks later, when he got back, I showed him my presentation and it was not what he wanted. As a result, I had to do it again, which was a waste of time.

To conclude, there are both benefits and drawbacks to working from home. Flexible hours or freelancing is not for everyone; however, there are lots of employees who benefit from it.
