Lead-in

Greet learners and tell them the lesson objectives.

· Peer-assess partners` articles;

· Create a class newspaper.

 

Inform the learners that they will peer-assess each other’s articles. Go over the rubrics first to remind them that the following categories will be assessed:

· Layout

· 5 W`s

· Writing mechanics

Middle

Gallery walk

To get learners peer-check articles, ask them to /stick their final drafts on the walls. Encourage them to walk around the class and choose 1 work to peer-check.

Peer-assessment: Learners check articles using the rubrics previously discussed.

Encourage learners to provide constructive feedback and give recommendations to their partners.

Teacher also walks around the class, monitors to provide delayed feedback on content and language.

Creating a class newspaper

All articles are already checked and edited if needed.

Organize learners in groups. Inform them they are about to create a class newspaper using an online newspaper generator. Go over the instructions and show and example using PPP. Then follow the link https: //newspaper. jaguarpaw. co. uk/ to demonstrate how to use it.
