Uptight 1. worried or nervous and not able to relax 2 being tense, nervous, or uneasy Examples 1 You have to learn to laugh instead of getting uptight about things. 2 If our flight is delayed, there's nothing we can do. There's no reason to get so uptight about it. 3. I have always seen him as a bit uptight and dour.
