Superficial

1never thinking about things that are serious or important

3 If you describe someone as superficial, you disapprove of them because they do not think deeply, and have little understanding of anything serious or important.

4 not studying or looking at something carefully and only seeing the most noticeable things

5 on the surface only; not deep

Examples.

1. This guy is a superficial yuppie with no intellect whatsoever.

2. The tone of his book is consistently negative, occasionally arrogant, and often superficial.

3. His knowledge of French is superficial.

Unassuming

1. Someone who is unassuming is quiet and shows no wish for attention or admiration

2. showing no desire to be noticed or given special treatment

Examples.

1. He prefers khakis and is about as low key and unassuming as they come.

2. He's a man of few words, very polite and unassuming.

Uptight 1. worried or nervous and not able to relax

2 being tense, nervous, or uneasy

Examples 1 You have to learn to laugh instead of getting uptight about things.

2 If our flight is delayed, there's nothing we can do. There's no reason to get so uptight about it.

3. I have always seen him as a bit uptight and dour.
