Moscow, the capital of Russia, is one of the biggest cities in the world. It occupies an area of 1035 square kilometers. It has a population of about 11 million people. Officially the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) is considered to be the border of the Russian capital. It is 109 kilometers in length. However, new city districts are situated beyond the Ring Road. Moscow’s climate is moderate with an average temperature of about 20-25 degrees in July and August, and -10 to -25 C in December and January. Most of the time Moscow winters are very cold and snowy.
