I Answer the Questions.. II Find the Right Answer.

Moscow, the capital of Russia, is one of the biggest cities in the world. It occupies an area of 1035 square kilometers. It has a population of about 11 million people. Officially the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) is considered to be the border of the Russian capital. It is 109 kilometers in length. However, new city districts are situated beyond the Ring Road.

Moscow’s climate is moderate with an average temperature of about 20-25 degrees in July and August, and -10 to -25 C in December and January. Most of the time Moscow winters are very cold and snowy. The city landscape is rather complicated. The highest point of the city area is in the South-West, 250 meters above the sea and 130 meters above the Moskva River. There are over 10 rivers in Moscow and Moscow Region, but the Moskva River is the biggest one.

According to an old legend, Moscow was built on the seven hills. The original seven hills referred to in the legend are: Borovitskiy Hill (where the Kremlin stands), Tverskoy Hill, Sretenskiy Hill, Lefortovskiy Hill, Taganskiy Hill, Trehgorniy Hill, Vorobiovy Hills.
