2. If you were a hitchhiker, which pieces of advice would you add to the list?

I would add the following items to the hitchhiker’s checklist:

- Personal hygiene is important, don’t discount the influence of it on other people

- Make sure to be safe when choosing a companion & vehicle

- Make sure to pack the essentials in your backpack

- Make sure you have a rough timeline for the travels

- Don’t use signs

3. Make up a short (10-15 sentences) story of a hitchhiking experience.

We were heading home to Omsk from Novosibirsk and flagged down this lorry. Its windowsill was cracked on the passenger’s side - a young boy through a stone at it in Tomsk. The crack started to grow with such awful sound! The driver was going 40km an hour so to preserve the glass, albeit we were getting the tiny pieces of it on our clothes. We stopped at a road-side store and bought some cello tape to try and keep the glass from caving in. And while the other drivers looked at us funny, we got home in the end.
