Другие способы выражения сравнения.

Для сравнения двух предложений одинакового качества используют парный союз as…as(такой же как).

This table is as big as this one.

Для выражения не равной степени качества используется союз not so….as(не такой как).

This table is not so big as that one.

Конструкция the…the(чем… тем). Единственный случай перевода определенного артикля the.

The sooner the better.

Упражнение №1 Напишите все степени сравнения прилагательного

Poor – poorer – the poorest

Rich – richer – the richest

Interesting – more interesting – the most interesting

Large –larger – the largest

Small – smaller – the smallest

Beautiful – more beautiful- the most beautiful

Difficult – more difficult – the most difficult

Bad – worse – the worst

Little – less – the least

Tall – taller – the tallest

Happy- happier- the happiest

Long – longer – the longest

Good – better – the best

Important – more important – the most important

Hot – hotter – the hottest

Bad – worse – the worst

Hard – harder – the hardest

Pleasant - less, more pleasant - the least, the most pleasant.

Упражнение №2. Напишите недостающие степени сравнения прилагательного

Bigger, the longest, the fastest, harder, less, heavier, the thinnest, worse, the narrowest, the lowest, greater, the newest, the most, the coldest, hotter, shorter, the least, bad.
