When I was 16, my younger sister and I decided to take a ride with our friends in the countryside. We lived in a rural area in a nice cottage near the river. We often drove down any country road we could find. Every time it was a new discovery and a new adventure. I loved it!

That day we rode for about an hour and ended up on a very long road. It was a lonely one. We were there for the first time. On both sides of the road we could see hills, plains and farmland. The sun was shining brightly and there was nothing unusual in the day.

Up ahead we noticed a tiny village with a church on one side and houses and shops on the other side. As we came closer, we noticed that it looked very strange. The cars parked on the side of the road all looked old. It seemed they were from the 1930s, and so were the buildings and street lamps, and... everything! Now we were riding very slowly and we were carefully and silently watching all the people who were coming out of the buildings, small shops, walking along the street, going to church. They were wearing strange old-fashioned clothes. We could not say a word.

All in all there were about thirty of them, including the kids. We stopped in the middle of the road about a hundred metres from them. Right at that moment my cell phone rang. The loud ringtone broke the silence and all the people turned to us. They were looking strangely at us and our bikes. Then all of a sudden a man with a gun ran in front of the crowd and pointed his gun at us!

So the girls started screaming and in a second we were almost "flying" on bikes away from the strange place. We could hear the gun but no bullets hit us. Once we were far away, we even started joking about it.

We got home, ran into the house and told my dad about our adventure. He didn't believe us. I told him to get the country maps and tried to show him that place... and there were NO towns anywhere on that road we were on... None!
