My working day

I am sure that every person prefers weekends to working days, but working days are inevitable in our life. I have my working days from Monday to Friday.

My typical working day starts with the mad sound of my alarm clock. It is very difficult for me to get up and it takes me a lot of time and effort. I can even set my alarm-clock to go off 15 minutes earlier the time I have to get up. So, I try to get up at 7 o’clock. Then, when I have at last woken up, I go to the bathroom. I have a shower, wash my face and brush my teeth there. Then I go to the kitchen. My mother is an early-bird and I know that breakfast is already on the table. I usually have a cup of tea with a sandwich or biscuits for breakfast. After breakfast I go back to my room and get dressed.

I usually get to college by bus but sometimes when my father is in a good mood he drives me there. My classes start at 8.30. I normally have 4 pairs a day. We have 10-minute breaks after each pair and two 40-minute breaks after the second and the third pair. I spend the breaks relaxing with my friends or having lunch in a canteen. My pairs usually finish at 4 o’clock.

At home I have dinner and do my homework. I have to study very hard and it takes me very much time to get ready for the classes. Sometimes it happens that I go to bed at midnight or even later totally exhausted.

But the sun rises, a new day comes and you have to get up, to wash, get dressed and go to college again.

- I live out of town. So I have to take the first morning train if I

don't want to be late for my work.

- When do you get to the office?

- At 8 if I catch an early train.

2) - Good morning, Ann! Where are you going to?

- Morning, Victor! I am going to the plant.

- Why so early?

- Don't you know that the plant where I work is rather far from my

house? It takes me about an hour to get there.

- Oh, I see. And when do you have to get up?

- I have to get up at six.

- But it's good to get up so early. English people say: early to bed

and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.

- Right you are.

3) - Say, Victor, where do you study?

- At the Extra-Mural Polytechnical Institute.

- Do you go to the Institute every evening?

- No, only three times a week.

- And what do you do on the days when you have no classes?

- I usually stay at home, do my homework and write test-papers.

Sometimes I watch television, listen to music and read something

in English. Look here, have you got anything special tonight?

- No, nothing special.

- Then come to our place. We'll watch television together.

- Thank you, I'd love to.

- That's settled! Come as you can. So long!

- So long!
