THE MOSCOW UNIVERSITY

The Moscow University was founded in the 18^th century on the initiative of M.V. Lomonosov. That’s why it is named after M.V. Lomonosov. The University has a lot of faculties, among them the Faculty of Philology, Mathematics and Physics, Medicine, Biology and Geography and many others. The University is headed by the Rector.

The University has big lecture halls, classrooms, laboratories, rich libraries, canteens, hostels and well equipped sports grounds. There is a famous student’s theatre and other amateur art groups. As all the students in Russia they have two terms in the academic year which begins on the first of September. At the end of each term students take exams and then they have their holidays twice a year-in winter and in summer.
